    Cavs were wasting Lebron 06-10

      Adam Leon you're speaking facts but Allen iverson loved it in Philly and didn't want to leave them and Philly just didn't have the money to get good players so that's why but as Philly fan I think he did something truly amazing for us he is the most electric player ever

      This video is for great players who spent the majority if not all of their prime being a one man show. Kobe almost always had another all star backing him up, as he spent the majority of his career playing with either Shaq or Gasol.

      Pau Gasol's prime with the Grizzlies was wasted too

      While the Cavs won a lot of games, Lebron didn't have another superstar on his team to turn to. His supporting cast during his first Cleveland stint mainly composed of role players (Ilgauskas, Mo Williams) or washed up veterans past their primes (Ben Wallace, Shaq) and he was often going against teams in the playoffs that were better built (Spurs, Celtics).

    If Tim Duncan woulda gone to the Magic back in 2000 like he was about to, we'd be looking at TMac's career a heck of a lot differently. Not to mention a TMac/Duncan vs Kobe/Shaq Finals.

      While Lebron's teams were winning 50-60 games with him, I highly doubt those teams could have won 30 games without him. Hence why they only made it to the Conference Finals twice during Lebron's first Cleveland stint.

    The thing with A.I. is that with his type of game ,he needs to be surrounded by teammates who are good defensively and can occasionally score or an above average scorer,because his game is just too ball dominant. Maybe the situation would be different if he has great team mates like when he was in denver ,but i always look at A.I. as an ageing star when he was in denver.

    • @Midori_Ringo
      @Midori_Ringo 6 лет назад +2

      I actually don't feel bad for AI. or even believe he wasted his prime on a terrible team. How can it be that terrible when you get to an nba finals? and you have a DPOY/HOF as the 2nd best player. The only way he could be the AI we know is with the teams style of team he had. He had elite defenders at every position who were content to just get garbage points. Remember it was a massive deal for him every year to try and win the scoring title. Sure his teams aren't pretty to watch but defensive teams rarely are. It doesn't mean they are bad teams. While supremely talented his game just doesn't mesh with other elite level scorers. AI would've needed to change his game which is something i'm not sure he could've done or have been willing to accept see his time in the US men's teams and Denver. And it's not an issue with coaching if you look at the guys who coached him for almost his whole career

In Phili, instead of the org/coach trying to make him a team player they fueled it and surrounded him with role players and said shoot as much as you want to. Had AI been more of a team player in phili they should've shit on teams with him and stackhouse and more players would've wanted to play with him.

    Iverson never been a cooperative person. Any 2nd star or super-star would be suffering cuz Iverson held the ball for 19-20 seconds in 24 seconds.. AI was the reason why Phili aint got any another superstar and that system worked.
    AI wasnt a good defensive player he was a good pick pocket and stealer but not a good 1 vs 1 or help defender. Thats why team had Eric Snow and Aaron McKie.. Iverson aint good with 3pt shoots thats why team had Aaron McKie. And he played with some of the best defensive centers for his time (mutombo, ratliff, dalembert) also occasionaly has the help of another star player. Such as Chris Webber, Elton Brand,Andre Miller and Andre Iquodala. It never changed at all. AI aint a good professional thats why his career ended when he was 32-33 ..
    Any NBA team wants to sign up with him. He goes to the Denver ? The team which has Andre Miller, Marcus Camby, Nene Hilario, Jr. Smith, Kenyon Martin, Carmelo Anthony ? What AI accomplished with better team ? Nothing sadly.
    And Jason Kidd went to the Finals back to back with far worse team than 2001 Sixers.. Specially 2002 Nets was terrible. Starting 5 SG was Kerry Kittles and starting center was Todd McCalloh (something like that he played only 4 season with 5pts 4rbd per game)
    So for that weak Eastern Conference 2000-03 Era Philadelphia was a very good team. AI was the one who aint a good team player. He had problems with Practice, with teammates, with off-ball plays ? Ok ?!
    So nope Iverson didnt waste his career that career and that Sixers is the only way to acumulate IVerson's streetball play style.
    In my opinion Paul Pierce with terrible 2002-2008 era Boston Celtics far more upsetting than AI's story.
    Jason Kidd with Phoneix and Nets also far more sad than AI's position.
    Only star/superstar player style that could fit with Iverson is defensive big men or athlethic point forwards
    Jermaine O'Neal
    Ben Wallace
    Lamar Odom
    Boris Diaw
    KG
    any other ball demanding star (such as Chris Webber, Shaq, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd ,Paul Pierce etc,etc) cant mix with AI's one man show system.

    Dom 2k huge fan. I love your videos even if I disagree with your point. I wanna address your Allen Iverson post. He was a great player but do you think Iverson would've wanted to share the load in his prime.? He wasn't very coachable early and I feel with another star in philly, he still wouldn't have won a championship unless he was on the Lakers. What's funny is with denver Iverson was older but he was still avg 26 a game with better efficiency. You ever notice why Denver got eliminated In the first round with Iverson but got to the WCF with billups? Now I'm not hating on Iverson but I think that Philly team did something that Denver didn't and thats play team defense. People love to say that team couldn't score but basketball has two sides and your best offense is your defense. When everyone is committed to letting you be the star while they do the gritty work, thats selfless and that took them further than talent alone. Those guys dont get enough credit for their toughness and sacrifice. I'd love to read your feedback on this one.

    • @nathaniellevesque2782
      @nathaniellevesque2782 6 лет назад +1

      One thing I noticed was that Iverson and Melo were both scorers who needed the ball. Iverson was a good defender, but he needed the ball to be dominant. Billups was also a good defender, but he was more of a distributor and that's a better combo for teams to win championships than having 2 guys who score alot, but need the ball constantly.

      Jigga My Nigga well Toronto doesn't have the best management or good draft selection so chances are that VC and Tmac would be like Westbrook and Durant. They'd probably be regulars in the ecf but never be champions because lack of talent at the bigs and in the 2000s you needed a skilled big man to win a championship. And they'd play well enough so they wouldn't have the ability to draft bosh. And even if they did get bosh there's no telling if bosh would be the player that he was or if bosh would have matured slower. Tmac leaving was the best option for Tmac it's just unfortunate that Duncan stayed in San Antonio and Hill was injury prone

    100% agreed. Dominique Wilkins could be another one but I felt the most for Iverson who should've won 2 or 3 championships and being recognized for what he is. The whole idea of ballhogging is flatout bullshit when you got no decent options around you. Kobe is a good example how a dominant scorer is perceived when being on a terrible or a great team. Same story for Melo, also for Westbrook who wasn't on a terrible team but was unfortunate with Harden and Durant walking as well as facing both the Warriors and the Heat like Stockton, Malone, Miller, Ewing, Barkley and Payton were facing Jordan and weren't in the right situation to beat him at the time like Isiah Thomas was for example.

    People keep saying KD wouldve been one of these guys if he didn't go to the Warriors.....yall realize he could've made a better decision by going to a different championship contender and not damaging his Legacy as much, or not choke against the Warriors in the WCF (Westbrook choked too no lie, KD did more though if u look at his stats) or win against the 2012-2013 Heat with an actual Amazing team around him and Westbrook. And I'm not hating on him or anything, I like KD, but I don't like his decision and he has had bad luck with good teams to win a championship until he went to the Justice League (Golden State Warriors).

Big O got a chance when he went to play with Lew Alcindor and the Bucks, and had Jerry Lucas with him after a few years, but he spent a long time playing for the Cincinnati Royals without much help. Maravich was all used up by the time he got to Boston. Imagine how he would have done with a really good forward or center to catch those eye popping passes.

Not for players who spent a few years alone, but had long stretches where they had good teammates. Kobe's prime was from 2000-2013 and he had Shaq or Gasol helping him out for most of that time. T-Mac, Carter, AI, and KG never had the fortune of playing with teammates that could have helped them reach the top during their primes. T-Mac and Carter were both teammates on the Raptors and maybe could have had a championship-caliber team built around them if T-Mac had stuck around, but he had no interest in playing in his cousin’s shadow so he left for the Magic. AI made it to the NBA Finals with the 76ers only once during his prime where they came face to face with the Shaq and Kobe-led Lakers and surprisingly won Game 1 of the series, but they weren’t going to win the championship as they got completely overwhelmed and lost the next 4 games due to the significant difference in size, talent, and skill between the 2 teams. KG and the Timberwolves were doomed to playoff mediocrity for the entirety of KG’s prime as KG never really had great teammates to rely on and he only won a championship after getting traded to the Celtics and settling into a complementary role behind Pierce as the Celtics were his team. Imagine if these 4 guys had the same kind of teammates that Kobe or Duncan were fortunate enough to play with during their primes. They’d probably be looking at 1 or 2 championships apiece among them.

    Don’t forget, the year T Mac left, they drafted Dwight Howard. It’s actually the reason or part of the reason he wanted out, cause he was tired of losing and wanted the team to draft Emeka Okafour, he thought Dwight would take time to become a star. A prime T Mac, with a healthy Grant Hill, and a rookie Dwight Howard in the East could’ve done some serious damage. T Mac by himself single handily almost upset the Pistons in 03’. T Mac was just one unlucky dude. Even in Houston, when they finally had a good team in with Yao and a prime Artest in 08, his body broke down.
