    The 2011 season happened ages ago, and there are still people that can't deal with the fact Rose won MVP over James. Today I show why even if you think Lebron deserved MVP, that there is no way you can discredit Rose for winning it. He did more than people realized, or choose to remember.
    Big thanks to these articles for helping me with the argument:

    One thing I wish I would've said in the vid: Dwight Howard placed second over Lebron in MVP voting, and there's definitely no way that should've happened. Lebron's season was better and the Heat won more so yes the voters may have cut him short there, but there is still no way you can discredit Rose's case for the clear cut MVP over both of them in 2011 with everything else described.

      Stop over rating him and overhyping. He was no where near the best, despite injuries. He was another potential Penny Hardaway. Why do I say Penny, because he was also plagued with injuries rivaling Jordan, and also BETTER than Rose.

We most likely will never get him to be this explosive anymore, but at least, we witnessed greatness as the youngest MVP to ever grace the nba floor. #DRose 🌹

    • @chicagobullsfan03
      @chicagobullsfan03 7 лет назад +9

      james durant thibs has nothing to do with his injury. Rose was headed for a major injury. it just came at a bad time, he missed almost half of the lockout season, his knees had an expiration date

    • @legendaryfizz4883
      @legendaryfizz4883 7 лет назад +30

      chicagobullsfan03 Not exactly. If Rose doesn't get injured the first time. There's a good chance he doesn't get injured the other times. And there's NO WAY he gets injured if he's not in the game when they're up by 9 or 12 with 1:30 left in the 4th. So there is reason to believe Thibbs played a role.

    • @GrahamCStrouse

    • @brandonreed3670
      @brandonreed3670 7 лет назад +29

      Yeah and it's not even like Bron was that much better stat wise that year, he and Wade basically cancelled each other out. That Bulls team had no business getting the 1 seed with 2 of their 4 best players missing that many games. Noah only played 49 games.

    • @connorsmith6517
      @connorsmith6517 6 лет назад +12

      Brandon Reed ok I agree rose should of been MVP. But Lebron averaged 27/7/7/1/1 on 51% from the field and 33% from 3 while playing all NBA defense. Rose averaged 25/4/8/1/1 on 44% from the field and 33% from 3. Id say the stats lean in Lebrons favor and Lebron was still the best player in the world. But I'm fine with rose getting MVP

    • @mcoeif
      @mcoeif 6 лет назад +1

      Al Bundy F.B.Z. z Tom Thibodeau was the real MVP of that team. Without Thibs, those early 2010's Bulls weren't even playoffs worthy talent wise. LeBron could take any coach or any supporting cast to at least the second round of the playoffs.

      D wade in 2009 deserved an mvp too than...30.4 PER 2nd in the nba.....he was avg 30.4 points per game in 38 minutes played 79 games was scoring champ scored by far almost 35o more points than anyone that year... 7.5 assists which was top 8 per game and he was 8th in total assists by the end of the year... 2.2 steals which was top 2 per game and total...and he avg 1.3 blocks ...which was 16th in per game and he was 16th in total shot blocks for the year...let me say that again.....a 6'3 215 lb shooting guard was the 16th best shot.blocker when the 15 guys ahead of him were all big centers who were at least 6'9 230 ....and he was 6 blocks away from being top 13....and the 19 guys behind him in the top 35 were all pf and centers who were also at least 6'9 ......he was the only guard in the top 50....to be top 7 in assists the other guys are all point guards ahead of him aka their job and besides LeBron were all point guards naturally cause they playnake and have ball in their hands in the top 20 and to be 2nd in steals when the other top 6 are point guards and usually is them and 1st in points is great and expected of him but top 16 in blocks is insane... shot 49% fg 77% ft 32% from 3 which for him was amazing cause he used to rareley take or make them but this season he was shooting them with confidence as if he's always done that .....have you ever seen a player be top 16 in blocks points assists steals and lewd all guards in rebounds......me neither..mvp case...he won 48 games after being out and the team winning 15 and losing shaq ...33 win increase...give him kobes roster he would have won 73 with them . ..why was he third in mvp

    D-Rose was god That season he took a crazy step forward in terms of his skill. and he was always great. He just wasn't quite a super star before the 2010-2011 season. and it was just more fun to watch D-Rose than any other star that season.

    • @Christopher._M

      Exactly he was improving every aspect of his game especially his shooting. At 21 and 22 years old D Rose was making vets and other all Stars look silly when they played defense on him .Even the players who were contending for and had heights up to seven feet couldn't lock down D Rose. In my opinion he was enjoying to watch Because he played the game at 100% every play and a majority of his shots were acrobatic which amazed everyone.

    Great video. As a Miami Heat fan, I remember the year Rose got the MVP. He was such a scary player. Always finding a way to drive to the basket, going around any player for his shots. He was just so dominant. I think with Lebron, he's been amazing from the very beginning, that we just expect greatness and more from him every season. Rose stuck out as the MVP for all the reasons you mentioned.. that his team wasn't that great, but achieved the best record above the Heat. If it wasn't for his injuries, man who knows what could've happened the next few years with the Bulls.

      what does 2016 have to do with the 2011-2012 season.? lol thats who you wanna start comparing to wade and bosh, luol deng!? lmaoo so you're saying the heat had a worse team than the bulls? lmao you have no idea what you're talking about.. bro you take dross off that team, bulls are lottery team at best. don't even @ me bro lmao your comment is ridiculous. stats aint even shit, I'm saying if you take rose off the bulls and lebron off the heat, the heat are still one of the top teams in the east, the bulls are a lottery team, thats just facts

    • @MrSlashblade
      @MrSlashblade 6 лет назад

      Raul Slaggings the problem with your theory is the fact that they did take Rose off the team via injury and then they won 47 games and then they went to the second round before losing to the heat in 5 in the year 2013, 2 whole years of a roster aging. I’m saying that the fact that you used Noah when he wasn’t the second best player or even the best defender at the time tells me you don’t watch until the year 2016, the Bulls were favorite since they swept the regular season series against Miami and the final nail in the coffin is Rose won it in 2010-2011. At least make me try

    • @raulslaggings5824
      @raulslaggings5824 6 лет назад +2

      mrslash blade again. Nobody talking about 2013. They added gasol am I wrong? Pretty sure he was a top 5 center/pf at the time... Don't act like they stayed the same, Jimmy Butler was evolving into a superstar. Nigga plz. Ain't nobody talking about 2013. We talking about the team that has no gasol, and a rookie jb who was still not getting minutes and developing. Go back and check everything, ain't nobody quoting the bulls the favorite coming out the east 😂😂 LeBron, Wade, Bosh.. that's all I gotta say man. Rose yeah no body compared to those players, argue all you want but facts are facts mam

    • @MrSlashblade
      @MrSlashblade 6 лет назад

      Raul Slaggings you just said take Rose off that team and they don’t go to the post season, I gave you an example where they do with an older roster and you say it’s obsolete. And when Gasol went to the Bulls he was not a top 5 pf/c hell he wasn’t even the best Gasol, and the year I gave you had Butler coming off the bench. You just completely exposed yourself proving you didn’t start watching basketball until 2016.
      And yes people thought that the MVP of a 60 win bulls team who destroyed Miami in the regular season with the coach of the year was favorite in the 2011 ECF. You really don’t watch basketball.

    Rose's problem wasnt his injury. Paul george had a worst injury and he recovered from it. The problem that derrick rose have is that he is unavailable to shoot the ball in a league where the three point has become more and more important every year. Yeah he has lost explosiveness but if he was a better shooter and passer it would not matter. Despite all of this, he deserved the mvp in 2011

      You're forgetting the fact that Paul George hasn't suffered any serious injuries since then. Once Rose got injured once, the other knee injuries started happening and happening he couldn't be on the court and his explosiveness dropped as you mentioned by tearing your acl 20 times. Last year rose averaged 18 ppg and was still a good starter.

    • @skatevidcentral
      @skatevidcentral 6 лет назад +1

      Broken leg is actually better than a blown ACL. Joint injuries are always worse.
      Not to mention, Rose's game and dominance was centered around his explosiveness and athleticism. He relied on his quick change of direction moves to get in the lane and to the basket which puts lots of stress on the joints. Paul George's playstyle not as much. Also before his injuries Rose was improving his shooting season by season and from the 3-point range.

    • @deema_q4963
      @deema_q4963 6 лет назад +2

      No. That is absolutley false. Everybody recovers from injuries differently. However, Paul George is very lucky that he is still a very good player. Also i just wanna add that paul George did not have the worst injury ever it may have looked terrible but drose tore his ACL,Meniscus and plenty of other injuries. And keep in mind PG didn't have any other injuries before he broke his leg.

    But Jordan was robbed of a bunch of awards right? The Bulls had a more well rounded roster and better bench. You gloss over players like Korver and Deng like they were scrubs. The Heat had 3 actual good players on their roster and that was it. No PG, no non-old big-man, nothing. If LeBron was on that Bulls team he would have been a little less efficient but had better stats, because he would've been forced to do nearly everything like he was with the Cavs in his two previous MVP seasons. Aside from his rookie season LeBron has NEVER shot 44% like Rose did, not even under 47%. You can say being better than Rose or basically equal to Rose that year in every statistical category means nothing because of team records all you want, but it sure starts to sound like you're calling it a team award doesn't it? 🤔Basketball is a lot like baseball in the way that the numbers easily and clearly show who has the biggest impact on the game in most cases. One day I hope the league just stops this media voting nonsense and starts giving the MVP to the guy with the best statistical stats, even if it means giving it to a guy on a worse team. It would stop all this crafting of narrative bs. LeBron should have 6 MVPs (also CLEARLY robbed in 2007-08) and James Harden should have 2. Let the fans and media complain about it, they'll get over it.

      @TheCharlesJackson 7 лет назад +10

      e3mitchell23 his statline was better because the Dubs focused their defense on the others for the Cavs. KD and Curry put up their numbers while being the main watch of the defense. On top of that KD continued to hit big shot after big shot over LeBron and defended him well too. LeBron didn't have a single stop on Durant the whole series and consistently called for doubles because he couldn't take him.

      TheCharlesJackson triple double but he was defended well?

    • @ohmangoddamn1986
      @ohmangoddamn1986 7 лет назад +4

      His statline was better because Warriors let him shoot and score lmao. KD was clearly the better player because defense is a thing, and KD does that better.

    • @e3mitchell23
      @e3mitchell23 7 лет назад +4

      OhMan Goddamn who did KD defend then if the warriors let Lebron score 30+ on them?

    • @ohmangoddamn1986
      @ohmangoddamn1986 7 лет назад +2

      e3mitchell23 a number of different people as well as playing stellar help defense. Did you watch the game ? The amount of time Lebron holds the all for and dropping 30 shouldn't be commended. Kd played less minutes and touched the ball a lot less than Lebron and still averaged more.

      I think when a person is face of the league the media forces that person down our throats. It happens with every superstar. The people who don't buy the hype speak out on it and the fans of that star say that person is hating or bashing. That's not the case it's just no one man in a league of talent is gonna outshine every other player in every category every year

    LeBron averaged more points, rebounds, blocks and on higher FG%. Of course LeBron deserved it over Rose.

      RJPointer and he was 5 inches taller and was I his prime and Rose was a rookie so actually rose deserves the MVP and if rose never got In hired his stats would be like 29.9 ppg and 9 apg 4 steels per game and 10 rebounds per game

    Also, MOST of the RUclips basketball community consists of 12 year olds, so most of them are going to be far too young to remember the 2010-2011 NBA season. Like , I'm only 22, and these kids are making me feel so old right now. Is it summer break?

    The reason why people were complaining about it was because even though the Bulls were the number one seed, Derrick didn’t lead the league in scoring or assist or any other category at the point guard spot.
