Hannah Gutierrez Sentenced to 18 Months in prison by the judge. Hannah Gutierrez did make a statement but she didn't apologized and continued to shift the blame on production. The judge pointed out that Hannah did not seem remorseful, did not take responsibility for her actions and reiterated the horrible things she said in the jail calls. I wonder if this will shift Alec Baldwin's strategy.

Those jail calls sunk her. The self-centered privilege and complete lack of remorse is so gross.
she knew the game was rigged and that she had been scape goated. The entire thing is a maneuver by Baldwin to preclude any sort of conviction or even a finding that would allow for a civil suit against him and all you ...folks cheered him on while he did it like...the well informed and intelligent individuals you must be as evidenced by the "unbiased and fair" discourse engaged in in discussions of her case....and as a giant bonus the NM court system can feel free to apply this case law where ever they wish when ever some one hands a loaded gun off to some one who missuses it and if you think they wont you are ...not the intelligent individual you think you are. have a lovely day.
her jail calls and lack remorse did her in. She dug her own hole
"You are hereby sentenced as follows, STAND!" just one way you know you pissed off a Judge.
You never want the judge to quote your jail phone calls, yikes
I work at a hotel and just realized I feel worse when something goes wrong with a guest's stay than Hannah does about an actual death.
I had some empathy for Hannah during the trial because it was a system failure and she lacked professional experience as sole armorer . She took on 2 demanding jobs : props and armorer . However , after hearing a summary of the content of the recorded jail phone calls , her blaming everyone else except herself and her total lack of remorse, responsibility and empathy for the victim , who died because of her recklessness , I absolutely changed my mind and regret that NM limits the prison sentence to only 18 months. Yes bailiff : “ Please take her !”
I feel the same way.
But she did not have a lack of experience. Don't forget that her father was a well-respected armorerer. That means she grew up around what to do with guns. And she had already worked on two other sets as an armorer. She was 24 not 16
Agree 100%
@@LKMNOP No, I did not forget her background . But just because you are brought up in a family of surgeons does not qualify you to operate. She is guilty and deserves the maximum sentence . No debate there , but she was poorly trained and was working two jobs :armorer and managing props. As Runkle points out, she did not have the maturity or experience to slow down and just say NO so that she could do the job correctly. It probably would not have modified the tragic outcome due to her personality + recklessness + immaturity + poor attention to details ( cf. the disorganized cart with blanks and dummies mixed together )
@@parisian44No I disagree. She WAS trained. And her being around guns and get farther on filmsets DO matter and ARE a part of her education. That is how you learn several jobs, you walk beside. In your comparison with surgeon, had you been in the operating room with your parent your whole life and they had explained or taught you what they were doing and how things worked, you sure had a lot experience and knowledge when you started your education. Just like Hannah.
After hearing her jail calls, I don’t believe a word Hannah is saying.
She's lucky the judge could only sentence her to a measly 18 months....I think the judge would've given her 18 YEARS if she could..
Imagine Halyna’s young son getting that much time.
YEAH!!!👍
That was the very first time in her entire life that Hannah Gutierrez Reed was held accountable for her behavior. After seeing how her mother behaved in a Court of Law AND toward the Judge specifically, and then sadly the indulgent enabling of her sick & elderly father, it’s no surprise this girl -because she’s certainly not an adult in her thinking or behaviors -believes nothing is her fault and that she should be given special treatments and privileges. I don’t think this 18-month prison sentence is going to do much to alter her thinking either. Good for the Judge!
Well, she can never be an armorer again likely. It’s ruined her reputation.
@@jayniekinser7029 Plus she can’t own or be around firearms I don’t think.
@@jayniekinser7029 she's got a felony conviction, she can't own guns anymore.
Hannah only blamed everything but herself...I would not be surprised that the judge added the "serious and violent felony" to make damn sure she can never be an armorer again
Gutiey didn't pull the trigger. Prosecutors just wanted a scapegoat., They also trued to get her on some weird cocaine charge and had no evidence. Jury saw through it. Gutiey should sue state of New Mexico.
@@beckydoesit9331she loaded live rounds into at least two guns because “she doesnt have to be shaking dummies all the time.” Well, one of those live bullets went into the bodies of two people and someone is dead because she couldnt be bothered to do her job properly. I agree about the cocaine charge but the conviction she got was proper.
I love these Quick Bits because I rarely am able to watch the lives in full🙏🏻
When I saw the trial I truly felt sorry for Hannah. No more. I hope she gets some humility and remorse and prison doesn't turn her into a true criminal. Her narcissistic attitude needs to change or she will be easily influenced by her new peers.
Don't lawyers help them with these statements? Why didn't Reed's lawyer tell her this was a terrible show of "remorse"?
Her lawyer it seems hasn’t done much to help her from the start tbh… 😬
Because he was and is a horrible lawyer. Just one step above Nick Rekeita
Yes, lawyers assist with the statements - however, they cannot force clients to say things and cannot stop them from going 'off script' at the time of sentencing.
Why do you think he didn’t do that? His statements were more remorseful than hers.. Like lawyers can’t force clients to say anything
Defense lawyers get paid the same at the end of the trial, do you think they really care that you're going to prison.
Took her job seriously while drinking and using drugs. Riiiiight.
Those courthouse calls really did her in. Yet she knew they were being recorded and could be used against her. This is either sheer stupidity or psychopothy.
Hey she said she liked it in there. 18 month vacay, girl!
On tax payer’s dime.
Unfortunately for her, prison is not the same as jail.
@@melissaa2369 Prison is better, a lot more to do.
@@11C1PShe said she wanted to go to Springer cuz they had horses to ride!
Hannah did HERSELF in!! Her own phone calls from jail turned what could have been probation into an 18 month sentence!! Time and time again we hear people in jail, who KNOW the calls are all being recorded and listened to, snitch on themselves! Or, like Hannah, they showed an attitude completely contrary to what she showed in court. So good on ya, girl. You CHOSE 18 months!
And BTW Hannah, on what planet did you have a MODELLING CAREER??? That's not even a remote possibility!
She's a role model ... for ineptitude.
After hearing HGR's mother's comments it shows to me that neither of them understand accountability or culpability in any part of life.
Same with her step father.
About the discrepancy between Hannah and Dave Halls: Hannah loaded the gun. She had her fingers on every round. A 1AD who was doing their job properly might have caught the problem if they had insisted on watching the loading, but Hannah loaded the gun. Gabby Pickles should have hired a second armorer, but Hannah loaded the gun. Sarah Zachary was an incompetent assistant, but Hannah loaded the gun.
Yes Dave Hall's got a much better deal but then he did and still seems to show remorse. And he took responsibility which Hannah still is not doing.
wow those jail calls were something...
She deserved years not months.
18 months is the max under the charge she was convicted under. But you are correct.
Is this Judge going to be the same judge to preside over Baldwin's trial? If so, I don't think Baldwin's antics are going to fly.
And Baldwin has run his mouth even more than Hannah did, between talking to the police without a lawyer and then doing TV interviews. And the prosecutor is done with him and his legal team's BS already.
@jacklinde7568 Same judge for Baldwin , but they have now added another special prosecutor to help do the work.
@@parisian44 Well, the special prosecutor wouldn't have any impact on the judge. I was asking because of how I saw Judge Gelfling (she looks like a Gelfling. Does she have wings? Please let her have wings.) rain down on both legal teams AND the defendant. Baldwin and his legal team are going to be in for quite the night.
18 months. Hannah, use the time to grow up!
Hannah seems to have a strong personality defect so I'm not sure she will ever mature or change much.
The impact statement that got me the most was because of the way it was delivered. Her mother. She did not give a set script. She spoke the way you and I would speak when we lost someone so very dear to us. She jumped from subject to subject and even backtracked. This is when you're speaking from the heart and remembering things as you speak. I teared up when the friends and the family's neighbor spoke but I started bawling when her mother spoke. Secondly, as a commenter during the live feed said, it was so appropriate that her sister who she was so close to was smiling when she was talking. She was remembering her sister as she talked. You could see the grief behind it but you could see her joy and her memory of her sister. Those two impacted me the most.
Gutiey didn't pull the trigger. Prosecutors just wanted a scapegoat., They also trued to get her on some weird cocaine charge and had no evidence. Jury saw through it. Gutiey should sue state of New Mexico.
@@beckydoesit9331 she loaded the gun, she handed it to Baldwin, and it's not unlikely that she brought the live rounds to the set in the first place. The prosecutor offered her a plea deal at the beginning, but Hannah refused because part of the deal was that she would have to tell them where the live rounds came from. There's plenty of blame to go around here and I disagree with so many of the others getting plea deals, but gun safety was literally her job.
And the jury didn't 'see through' anything, *they found her guilty.*
What always irked me in the media and Hannah's own words the idea that she was naive and things like that totally disregard the idea that she was brought up in a gun household, basically. Her father was a very well known and respected armorer. So she knew from an early age how you're supposed to handle guns responsibly. The idea that she and some media people like to give is that she was some poor girl grabbed off the street and thrown into this situation. She applied for and got the job. She knew a lot about what she was supposed to do. She was just irresponsible And seem to like more about partying than doing a job with dangerous consequences if not done right.
😮
Good Morning Law Nerds💜
I don't understand how people think she was a scapegoat. She had one job and failed, then the result someone died. She then has the balls to say jail is hindering her modeling career and hopes the family of the deceased will help her.....I feel like 18 months is not enough
How did the quotes of her alleged phone calls get into the court record? Doesn't someone have to swear and say the transcripts are authentic? Shouldn't the transcripts be disallowed as hearsay? Seems the process got steamrolled when some sensational quotes were presented. And how is it that the victim's father, who asked for reasonableness, was ignored?
Hope she gets sent to ABQ. It's different down here. She won't say it's a vacation
Thank you ❤ QBs. My spring is busy too.
Wasn't Hannah also offered a deal but turned it down? If so, she took her chances and lost. Same with Baldwin.
Gutiey didn't pull the trigger. Prosecutors just wanted a scapegoat., They also trued to get her on some weird cocaine charge and had no evidence. Jury saw through it. Gutiey should sue state of New Mexico.
@@beckydoesit9331suing the state that just sentenced you after the jury decided you were guilty of manslaughter is a bold choice, but I’ll give you props for trying to
She was offered a plea deal but turned it down. In one of the phone calls, she said "I should have accepted that plea deal". As arrogant as she is, she was probably confident that she would beat the charges.
@@bradenculver7457 It's called protecting our 2nd amendment.
@@Sadlander2 Well she beat those drug charges, so there is that.Nah, Guity played the system and won. She didn't count on those idiot jurors that probably want to repeal the 2nd amendment. Guitty will be back on a set. Her career is just starting.
This trial has also taught me if you ever get in trouble silent truly means silent until your booty is HOME 🙃 just silent is best. Just don’t speak. If you have an opinion. That between. You and a wall. Not even another inmate a god dang wall.
Great program!!👍
About that modeling career. Where in the world does she get the idea she could be a model. She is very short, not striking in appearance and does not have the body shape (note, I said shape and not weight) that most models do. Even the models now that are shown not to be skinny as a rail, she still does not have the shape that models need for the clothes to drape well. I think this is some pie in the sky idea of hers. I just had to laugh.
I wonder if it was a niche area of modeling connected with firearms. It looked like she was doing some photos that could be used for advertising.
An Onlyfans "model" ?
If I remember right she was doing something along the lines of OnlyFans and "18+ work". There are pictures and news articles about it from quite a while ago. At least one webpage has a whole compilation of some of the pictures but also included pictures of her in a cute Halloween themed dress in the fall (it's actually a very nice photo of her) and other "normal" ones...
It's 2024. We have plenty of reasons to dislike this woman for her personality, we are also well aware that every kind of woman and body can be a model. The world is big. Let's focus on the real parts here. The selfishness of prioritizing a potential job over her actions. Anyway
I am kind of thinking she won't grow up after she has served the time. She wasn't clever insulting the judge on the prison phone. She deserves longer really, 1.5 year is not enough.
Astute and interesting commentary. Thank you.
'Yeah somebody died, but what about meeeeee'
HGR's chin up makes her almost look like AH when she was looking down her nose at JD's attorneys
Her lawyer should have told her not to speak on the phone - 200 calls is crazy - and some of the calls were with one of her lawyers. Her legal team did a terrible job - all the others got off, and she got the maximum sentence, no plea deal, no probation.
How many other armorers were there on set?
She is a monster - she didn’t feel sorry for the lost of life that was caused by her negligent behavior.
200 calls is crazy. But did anyone tell her to do that? She did that. And she was in jail because of her own doing.
She had a shitty lawyer.
Maybe her attorney wasn’t on her side.
Lawyer is former big shot prosecutor apparently, one of the worst lawyers I have ever seen, even to listen to him , he has no authority in his voice, I won’t even comment on Carmella, I think Alec could get off very easy if his lawyers are any way competent
Narcissist and so is most of Hollywood
Thank you Emily 💜
Those jail calls are what sealed her fate!!! Deservingly.
18 months for a person's life 😢
Question- 85percent means what? How many months will she actually serve?
15.3 months HAS to be served bf she can be eligible for release of some kind....I think.
I appreciate you and your community you've created ❤️

If the judge declared it a violent act, loading the wrong round in a gun, then how can anyone think that what Baldwin did wasn't? He needs to get convicted, too.
She's a Cold child.. I wish I could hear what her dad Said again.
There's endless 20 something's it there Just Like her.
Another lawyer who does youtube said he would have written her speech for her and had her read it since she's so "stupid" . She really was stupid to take the job in the first place, according to a vanity Fair article a much more experienced armorer was offered the job but he refused it after finding out he'd have to work with props as well as taking care of the guns, he thought it was dangerous.
Bruce Rivers?
@@Sadlander2 Yes, it was him.
@@stacyj7 I watch him all the time!
She should just be glad she’s alive!😢
I think Bowles is putting all his chips on reversible error, and hoping for a retrial. I think that's why they didn't make more of an effort to mitigate the jail calls. If she expressed remorse and admitted fault, it would damage the appeal (because, having admitted fault, the prosecutor can argue that any errors would not have affected the ultimate outcome.) I also think they are playing defense for the civil suits, because if Hannah is saddled with a big court financial settlement, she will be forced to sell her Dad's guns assuming she inherits them.
If they threw the book at her the one that pulled the trigger is also negligent for not following basic gun safety
She embarassed herself so badly, maybe even worse than Amber Heard 😮😮
I wouldn’t necessarily go that far! 😂
I never liked her, so since the beginning, I'll admit that I was biased. Having said that, am I the only one who liked her lawyer? When I saw how the prosecutor treated him, I felt bad for him and especially at the end, when he said that Hannah felt remorseful, it seemed like he felt more remorse than Hannah for what happened.
_P.S._
Is that common for a judge to say _"Please take him/her"_ ? When she said that, it was like _"Now get her out of my sight!"_
She feels no guilt 🤬
Gutiey didn't pull the trigger. Prosecutors just wanted a scapegoat., They also trued to get her on some weird cocaine charge and had no evidence. Jury saw through it. Gutiey should sue state of New Mexico.
GOOD IM GLAD SHE IS IN JAIL NO REMORSE ON HER FACE AT ALL GREAT JUDGE DID A GOOD JOB
I agree about Dave Halls. 👀
Look up the history of New Mexico State prison in the riot that happened there,
With all of the other violations that were found to have happened, is it possible that those responsible in those departments will be held accountable as well or is it just Hannah and Alec? I feel like the entire situation should be made an example of
Bless you for putting this on the Quick-bits. I was in the live of it with you and had to go to bed as I work NOC shift. I've seen patients in the psych hospital for the criminally insane show more remorse than this defendant. ☹️
Thank you for doing the Quick Bits channel. I wish I had time to follow all our streams but I don't and getting these updates is amazing. I didnt even know about the jail calls. uh oh. I think this judge served justice appropriately given what the Jury convicted her of.
Those phone calls were just another demonstration of her lack of judgment. My mind wanders to Baldwin's trial. He's already said he doesn't feel any guilt over the death. If convicted, would he have the arrogance to repeat that to this Judge?
Hearing Hannah's statement for a fourth time...Judge was wrong, Hannah never said sorry. She said her heart aches.
Whoever hired her should not work in the industry. You should be looking for people with decades of experience with guns as your armourer on a movie set.
The Judge is great.
@Emily D. Baker please cover the Karen Read case out of Massachusetts! It’s messy. Very messy. They are seating a jury now.
Hannah was obviously upset when it first happened, asking if everyone was going to be ok. She was in shock as well, I think. But now she seems to just want to completely exonerate herself from any responsibility at all. I do think she was kind of made a scapegoat to some extent, and made an example of, by the judge. But her unwillingness to accept *any* responsibility at all now, and blame everyone from the jury to the judge, completely killed any leniency she may have received. I think she is going to find that prison isn't as fun as jail. Big wake-up call for her coming soon. Hopefully she will learn some humility and come to take responsibility for her actions--or lack thereof--that horrible day.
Maybe she will learn something
how long Hannah realy will be in state prison ? when she will be granted half open systhem?
Cannot wait for Alec to get the same sentence.
I wonder if part of the motivation for this sentence was to prevent Hannah from engaging with firearms in the future since she was reckless with them. I think this impacts her future engagement, it maybe that is state dependent. She is too immature and self-centered to be doing the job she was.
I hope so, 😢
I believe even just probation was enough to prevent her from engaging with firearms. Only the conditional discharge could have led her back to wepon use. The severity of the sentence is really due to the lack of remorse and lack of accountability.
I wonder why her attorney never told her that her calls are being recorded. Dumb. Really dumb. Her phone calls proved she IS a monster. But please stop talking over the judge. If you want to make a comment, pause the video. We want to hear the judge, not your opinion.
Hannah could have skated guilty or not guilty. If she would have spent those 2 years going to AA meetings. Mental health therapy. Some community service. She would have gotten the first option. Judges like to see proactive. Hannah asking for lenience the day of? Did her lawyer from a crackerjack box not give her proper advice? She would be on probation without a felony if she would have only done the right things.
I wish the judge showed that level of command during the trial because that trial was a circus and she just let the attorneys clown around. But I do agree with sentence. Hannah did herself no favors at any point post shooting. She really thought she was above any investigation and prosecution. I feel bad for Hutchins family.
Does Hannah get credit for time served?
I admire this judge, she wasn’t entertaining Hannah’s lawyers requests she wasn’t there to re litigate the trial. She was there to sentence Hannah, based on the jury’s decision and the facts presented. Period.
Love you EMILY ❤❤💜💜✝️🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰
If she had said I'm so sorry this happen I except my sentence whatever the judge finds fair. She would have gotten a much lighter sentence. Shame people can't admit what they've done wrong. Even me. It's hard to admit when I do something wrong.
I don't understand why so many people spend so little time in jail these days. It creates a situation of minimal deterrents. Too much accelerated rehab. Too many concurrent sentences. Sadly, the vicious cycle of not enough facilities to house the number of criminals, not enough staff, etc. Well done, judge. Since she is "so young" as many have mentioned, she'll have many, many years ahead of her when she is released.
I like that judge.

bravo judge, brafckingvo
I have a few thoughts. The problem Hannah has is that on those calls and admitted to a constant disregard for rules. She basically said if she were put in the same position again she would change nothing. My second thought is that wouldn’t she be a help to Alec Baldwin’s defense? These calls would demonstrate that she was half assing her job and he put faith in her expertise. Also by saying she wanted to see him behind bars would make it seem like she would say anything just to see him go to jail. The prosecution would be in a bit of a pickle. 🥒. They need her to establish some facts in the case, but since she wants to see him in jail too how could her testimony be believed? It seems to me (an expert on absolutely nothing) that Hannah did Alec a favor.
She is crying because she is embarrassed. She was so arrogant around guns, it was disgusting. She will do something worse when she gets out calling it now. 5:02 yes judge, SPOT ON!
The Judge was hot! Hannah sunk herself.
Thell Reed had some nerve coming in and saying what he said. No matter which way you slice it those bullets either came from Seth Kenny who was friends with Thell, or Hannah. Either way Thell was the source. I think that's why her family sees her as such a victim. She could have taken the sweetheart deal, and told them exactly where those bullets came from. I think her family sees her as a hero for protecting Thell. I feel like more than likely they came in through Seth, but ultimately it doesn't matter. She was still responsible for allowing that bullet to get in that gun no matter how it get there. Baldwin's actions do not negate hers. That whole family has some nerve!
Blah blah blah....what a selfish b**ch
First...EDB, your eyebrows are kicking!!! You are a master of makeup. Thanks for this snippet. I absolutely love this judge's handling of this case. Gutierrez has a stank attitude in this hearing and that is so disrespectful. She'll have time to reflect. "Modeling career"
It is ironic that the 2 people who actually (guessing AB is headed that way) see prosecution are the 2 individuals in all of this mess still absolutely confident in themselves in spite of concrete evidence to the contrary with seemingly little empathy. After HG's trial with the less than formidable defense, but before the jail calls were released, I had hoped for a "time-served" or somehow a lowering of her sentence as plenty of others failed Halyna Hutchins along with the general safety of that movie set. HG's calls seem to show a tween's tantrums matched with a 3 year old's ability to empathize. Her attorney should have required a psych evaluation before the sentencing, it might have been her only hope.
That moment when the look change is not enough, her personality speaks volumes (pun intended!).
👍 at least.
Narcissistic...she still don't want to own up to her responsibilities and still blame everyone else around but herself....She lucky she ain't getting no 18 years or life...18 months is nothing.
Playing devils advocate- if she admitted she was sorry wouldn’t that be admitting guilt? She wouldn’t want to admit guilt before her appeals would she? I get what everyone is saying but she has an appeal in the works.
All i heard was me, myself and I.
💜💜💜
I honestly dont see how anyone else could be held accountable for this tragedy. SHE brought the live rounds to the set (knowing it was against the law). SHE put the live rounds in the weapon. She wants to see Alec Baldwin in prison...was she setting him up?? This girl got off light imo.
Seven years would've been more appropriate.
It also would have been impossible.
