The judge needs to stop sighing when defense is doing their cross. The jury is watching and can hear her.
So distracting not to mention unprofessional. If she can't be impartial, then time to find a new career.
Emily, I was once a paramedic, and let me tell you when you are on the scene of something really bad. All your focus is on your patient. Everything else kind of goes away. You count on the cops to take care of everything else, and focus on saving of life.that’s it. That’s what you do.
“CSI Leaf blower unit” coming to a network soon
So far, I'm finding this judge condescending and contrary, the Commonwealth confusing, and the defense entertaining.
Is it just me, or does anyone else get the sense that the Prosecution isn't merely incoherent, but that his/their heart isn't in it? Is the conclusion foregone? Is everyone just going through the motions? Could be just me.
No, it crossed my mind too. It’s as if this prosecutor doesn’t believe she’s guilty but has to go to trial with this case. It’s based on feelings, so I could be pretty wrong here
@@RKEefeMy neurosparky couldn't focus on prosecution's opening statement.
Believe me, this has very much crossed my mind as well. He just doesn’t feel like he’s in it. (For reference, Creighton Waters in Murdaugh was full of tenacity in his belief that Alex was guilty!) 🤷🏼♀️ So maybe it’s just different styles. Idk. But it just feels a bit, off!
He knows she’s innocent and is embarrassed. Lally is the fall guy
@@krissy_7778 exactly. Creighton was on fire. He would have taken it personally if that defendant had been acquitted. The prosecutor here seems like, well the boss said to bring this case. I guess I will go through the motions so I can keep my job. He seems to give zero fs about the case or the outcome.
I’m thinking could she have said “I did this.” Because she left him at the place and came home without him? Thinking if she had stayed with him this wouldn’t have happened. Thus…. “I did this. It’s my fault.” ??
Shock makes you think weird anyway. The paramedics let us see my grandpa when he passed, and I distinctly remember seeing his face and thinking, "That's not even him." Same thing happened when my cousin passed, I remember genuinely believing he was going to wake up for the entire funeral. You're not thinking right when things like this happen.
This is what I thought as well…
I was thinking the same thing. It may have even gone back to weeks of their arguing about things and that sort of stuff and she just felt guilty about everything. It's happened to me before even.
That's been my interpretation since I heard it.
No, she would of said they did this or who did this, but she said ''i did this'', because she did it.
I think this is the first case covered in ages that I’m on the defense side 100%
Natalie had a guest, Kurt from Uncivil Law, and they watched this court together. Natalie watched it cold and her reactions and his commentary was fresh and funny! She's a jewel!
IMO Karen saying "I hit him I hit him" could have been a mishearing of "I hurt him I hurt him", and since she was performing CPR she could have been freaking out because she heard rib(s) crack.
There was blood and that can be scary.
Can’t follow during the day @ work so glad u r doing summaries. I look forward to after work when I can catch up w ur RUclips videos. Thank you!
I’ve been traveling for a week I’ve never been so grateful for these short videos.
I'm grateful, too, because I spend the long Emilies 💜 enjoying the company so much that I sometimes miss bits of Law. These shorts refresh my focus on The Topic, like study notes.
This trail is so bizarre. Also, I've never seen court only 2 days before . It seems like this trail is half Ass. I feel like this judge is worse than Rust judge
Except for how she handled objections I thought the Rust judge did a good job. She should watch the Connecticut judge for the Michelle Treconis trial, he did a excellent job with the TV and it was balanced nicely as far as including us in the process. I watched just a straight live stream with no commentary and had no problems following the case.
I guess the judge is semiretired 😂. In Murdaugh, the judge was very mindful about the length of days that the “juury” was being kept away from their lives. He wanted the trial to end as quickly and as was fair to both sides as possible. This intentional stringing out the trial is as unprofessional as not recusing herself. We were taught in law school that if there is even a “whiff of impropriety”, the judge or lawyers Must Recuse Themselves from a case. This prevents appeals based on improper participation by judges and lawyers with a connection to the case or Any of the Parties involved, including witnesses! Texas law so who knows in the CW?💜
I don't like the not stating what is the reason for the objecttions...
I've had an excited puppy scratch me through my sweatshirt, the fabric wasn't torn & I didn't realize that I'd been scratched until I took my clothes off later. Red marks all over my arms!
I started watching my cousin Vinny on Hulu because you talk about it so much😬
Thank you for doing these summaries. I can't watch the trial live, but love these catchups!
Bless you for doing the quick bits! For some reason had a hard time (emotionally) listening yesterday, so to have you keep us “in the loop” is just wonderful❤️❤️❤️
I get that. I hope you’re doing better.
Blessed Beltane, All! 🙏🏼
Hi Emily. Jen McCabe had been going around telling cops and firemen that Karen said I hit him and they made up a story that she was suicidal to take blood alcohol level because she wasn’t taken to the police station. We don’t know why.
Love your earrings. Also maybe you will see this. I told Melanie Little (NY Long Island Attorney and her first husband was from Canton. Unfortunately he passed away this year) that the both of you have to get together. You both love Dave Matthew’s band and she just said I have questions. I cracked up laughing. Im like Emily. 😂😂😂💜💜💜

Thank you, EDB💜for the quick bits on this trial.
thanks, EDB💜love your community so much, and appreciate you!
❤ this trial is wild!
Emily my cousin Vinnie😉😘 is one of the movies on Hulu 💜 right now
We live in Boston now! There's solo much more to go wheewew 😫
Solo lol you got that right. They seem to have collected the blood thinking it was possibly left by an attacker so using non-sterile cups collected by a neighbor might not help lol. Between the solo cops and leaf blower I’d be very concerned about the capability of local PD.
This case is so messed up! Thanks for the coverage!
Love the way youve summarised this Emily, in terms of prosecutions case. Make me chuckle. Watching from north of England 🇬🇧
Absolutely agree with the My Cousin Vinny 10/10 review.
Thanks for the summaries
I know I mentioned this in the chat during live stream, but I took her saying "I hit him" to possibly mean when she found him laid out in the lawn unconscious she might have freaked out and slapped him… I feel like that is a reaction I might have if I found my hubby like that. Doing anything to get him to wake up….
My husband stopped breathing and I was on the phone with 911and slapped the snot out of him and then I said "ok he just took a breath" so yeah.... you do
Thanks for the summaries ❤
This is the first trial I haven’t gotten to watch with you. So thank you for the quickbits greatly appreciated. 💜💜
Didn't go into the house? Sounds like Alec Murdaugh. It's who you know ....
This case is a mess! I’ve had to watch several different LawTubers to help me get my head around this… Oh, and by the way, My Cousin Vinny is on Hulu in the US. Just a little FYI for you lovely people.
i dozed off last night and when I woke up an interview was on discussing forensics ( being cautious what I say lol). I did not consent to learning this stuff. uggg algorithm got me this time....i pouted all evening...lol
Thank you Emily! ❤
I wonder if she thought she hit him when she came back to the house in the morning.. Her vehicle was parked on the curbing in front of the officers car. Maybe with him and the roadway buried under the snow layer, she hit the curb and thought she hit his body. 10 ft isn't that far when you're frantic and then in shock.
she wasn't driving, they dropped her car off and Kerry Roberts was driving, and Karen was just a passenger
This trial reeks of conspiracy.
Those photos of the scene don’t show bare grass in the shape of a body…was still actively snowing, but the footprints weren’t covered by snow. 🤔
Also, a leaf blower? How does that really help in clearing so much snow. Where did it come from?
@@MissPrettywoman628 So random! And just seems like poor practice? Even if you're not sure if it's a crime, you would think they would still want to preserve the scene until they could determine? But I'm not a police officer. This trial will be wild.
I expect cops to band together when one of their own is found dead. The investigation would have been exacting and complete. No door left unknocked , security footage from every house on the street, individual witness statements, video recordings of the scene, a complete inventory of every object found and how far it was away from the victim. I can’t believe that a cop was treated this way. If the police officer inside the house had been his “friend”, how is he not outside helping to investigate his own yard as a crime scene. Nobody is that hung over and no German Shepherd can not bark hysterically with that kind of activity in his own yard. The dog must have been in the basement?
@@LovetheLed So many questions! And if that were my street, I would AT LEAST be looking out my window to see what was up. If it was my yard, you better believe I would be out there. "What happened? Oh my gosh. This is MY property? What has happened on MY PROPERTY? OH CRAP! I know this guy!" None of it makes sense.
If it was my house I would have gone out - if not I would have stayed in.
If it was my house, I'd have called 911, then gone out to see what was happening. I wouldn't let any strangers come inside, but I'd probably bring out blankets & coffee.
💜💜💜 thank you
Thanks 💙
I'm so glad you're doing this quickbits. I'm currently following the Chad Daybell Trial (oh boy... You would have fun with Prior, he's a mixture of Elaine Bredehoft and Dick Harpootlian). Hadn't heard of this trial before but it sounds absolutely fascinating. Sadly I can't watch two at the same time 😅
Ty for a recap that is
Good Morning Emily! How r u today?
Hey y'all 💜
The defence wins the opening round of the trial.😊💜 The details will matter.
Does it also not make sense that if she’s in an absolute panic and devastated that he’s dead, that she’s terrified she’s the reason, that she just repeats “I hit him”. Like no one is saying clear things in this situation, and a line like that on repeat is psychologically normal in this situation. Not an actual indication of factual evidence.
Good morning!!
8:32 this is SO my in-laws, it's great. Blue collar Boston. Not the most melodious accent, but charming if you love the people speaking.
Clueless or My Cousin Vinny, who did it better & why?
I think you mean Legally Blonde? 💜
@@LovetheLed 😂😂😂ooops A did
Emily!...i dont think we're going to last 6-8 wks with prosecutor snorelax lally 🤦♀️💜
Q what does it mean when judge says sustained and over ruled ?
Sustained means the judge agrees with the objection
Over-ruled means the judge does not agree with the objection.
When one side makes an objection they have a reason and it has to be to the point.
@@nancymilawski1048 ahh okay makes sense now thnx for replying 🤗
But we don’t know what grounds the objection is being made on, so how does this judge even know what is being objected to? The lawyer not questioning the witness can object to the question asked by the other lawyer, based on the rules of evidence. For instance- you can’t ask the witness the same question over and over- because: Objection your honor, “asked and answered”.
Oh btw the:Albert's sold their house n rheometer his dog*lnfact noone came out 2see wht's the commotion???!!!
The jury liked the EMT. The jurors will not care what lead up to him hearing “I hit him, I hit him, I hit him!” They know he heard her say it, that’s all that matters.
I cannot find day 3 of trial. 🤷🏼
No trial today 😊
@@nicolaspencer-hughes675 thanks!
Two yotes 🤣
Bull's Eye!!!
💜💜💜
Replay crew 😊
The defense has done several things to humanize themselves and they come across as far more likable than the state. At least to me
💜
I love that you are covering this I'm from Ma, right around the corner She's lying, always thought she had done >t by accident,. Her telling this story. It don't make sense
Isn't the things she said are seexcitable utterance
I believe there is court on Friday! Only during jury selection No court on Friday
IMO, I think it’s a cover-up. KR is innocent! You say “stupid things when a severe trauma happens!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

You never know how it will turn out. Jose Baez won 2 big cases in this area🤨🤨🤨
