It's called empathy, I always put myself in others position, I have lossed some family members that were essential to me. Some I had in my life for 14, 17,2, 46, 50+ yrs. There's not a day that goes by I don't think of them or miss, still some sleepless nights

Schools should hire retired vets to protect schools, most of them would gladly volunteer and the school districts wouldn't need to spend a dime on security

This sounds worse than war. I jumped when I heard this part! How can a hs shooting with an AR-15 Semi automatic sound worse than the Russians firing missiles at the Ukrainian civilians? Both are going after kids. This moment took me back...I grew up during Columbine. I live in Michigan, I have friends that were at Oxford. Is it bc the Russian military force is afraid to get close, go to to toe with the Ukranians....and high school kids are going into your personal bubble and shooting at close range? Only the kids on both situations have no defense...I wished I could get that girl off the stands when she started to cry. No one needs to relive either situations!

I do have PTSD and wasn't prepared for that. But I had my volume up very LOUD(for every detail), and it sounded like something I' can never describe

This is the penalty phase, not the trial. He pled guilty so there never was a formal trial.
This is not a trial to prove his guilt. It is a sentencing phase to decide on life in prison or the death penalty. The prosecutor is methodically addressing every aggravating circumstance. Like premeditation. The jury will decide life or death. Kind of important.

Every trial has a sentencing phase. He skipped his trial by pleading guilty. Now they are in the sentencing phase. If they prosecution can prove all the aggravating circumstances the hope is that the jury will agree on the death penalty.
