Wow. So many school kids walking by in distress. Everyone making phone calls, probably to reach their parents or friends. Walking past him in panic and he's just chilling with an ICEE. That's why you cannot believe his act in court. I bet he stands straight and fine away from the cameras in court.
Oh if you want to be 'entertained' please search for his interrogation video where he tries to act like he was crazy and the voices told him to do it... totally playing for the camera in the room.

We need to speed up the process of trials... it's been 4 years. The time spent waiting for these court dates is traumatizing in itself.
The trial has been over since March, 2018 (he pled guilty to all murders). He has been in jail from the day it happened. This is simply the sentencing, not a trial. It isn't like he has been out and having a good time these last four years. He is going to be either A: put to death or B: in prison for life. When that is officially determined is rather moot.
It's ridiculous that they take so long when all tge proof and evidence is on video

His trial just began. Our legal process takes time. It’s better to take 4 years to gather an open and shut case than to try him immediately and lose it.

To get a death sentence every single jury member has to be 100% on board and to ensure that they need a strong case and as much evidence as possible.

It’s insane to think a mass murderer could be walking right past you at any moment.
That he even left like that in the first place and went to Walmart then went to McDonald’s then started walking away some random place outside until he was caught. Just crazy how the chaos he created was also his smoke screen to escape he for sure knew what he was doing the entire time pulling the alarms etc.
I'm so impressed with all the young witnesses .. so clear and respectful of court proceedings ... hope that all the victims recover and live on to be good citizens

As a parent if this had been my son that was shot and killed I don’t think I could go on, these are very brave parents who have gone through and continue to experience extreme trauma. Cruz destroyed so much.

If you look at the people in the video you can see that a lot of them are on their phones and seem panicked. I wonder if word was starting to get out at that point. Such an unbelievably sad and unnecessary tragedy.
I thought the same thing. Body language kind of looks like they are getting word that something happened at the school and yet little did they know that the gunman was right there within feet. The woman on the phone for sure looks like she’s getting bad news. That is crazy!

Not in my area. I was ordering a sandwich one time, they toasted my sandwich, and it came out looking burnt. I told the worker that the bread is charred and burnt so I wanted a new bread. She was mad and started manhandling my sandwich. She moved my sandwich across the line with such force that the meat came off of the bread and she just nonchalantly put it back on the bread. I wanted to walk out of the store and not buy it. I would have done that but I was on my lunch break at work so I had to get something to eat quickly so I bought it anyway.

All of the kids with backpacks came into Walmart because they had just evacuated the school. The fire alarm went off during the shooting so they followed standard procedure, then they were notified by police to evacuate the property. Some of the students walked to Walmart because it’s only like 3 mins away. That’s why you see so many of them crying and talking on their phones.

Every time it cuts to the parents it breaks my heart.
I wonder what was going through his mind when he was ordering his drink. Was it blank? Was he celebrating? Was he planning something else? It's so...creepy watching him do something so normal after taking so many lives. Was he trying to blend in, or was it genuine nonchalance? So so spine-chilling to watch...

Well you need to eat and drink eventually even after committing a crime so he did just that. The reality of his future probably didn't set in for him until he got caught.

I'm honestly surprised he managed to escape without anyone recognizing him as the shooter. He was wearing the same cap, same shirt (but without the vest), and same pants he had worn when he carried out his massacre. I guess maybe it is because everyone in the 1200 building hadn't evacuated to the fire drill, but still, seeing all these kids coming into the Walmart and walking past Cruz, unaware just about 30 or so minutes ago, if they saw Cruz, they would be terrified for their lives. It is honestly so so chilling to think about how all those kids from MSD walked right past the shooter.
They probably didn't know he was the killer, and he probably knew they didn't. That's why he was so cool, calm, and collected.
He had on a vest and the majority of the victims (or potential victims) were either too far away to see the shooter, ran the second he opened fire or took cover in a corner in a classroom and were still probably on campus when he was at the Subway. The video surveillance inside the school was on a 26 minute delay so the police didn't even know he left the campus unfortunately till much later.
Everyone is in panic and shock and trying to find out info or call people to marked themselves as safe. Once alot of people adrenaline start running it makes it hard for them to focus on things outside their main focus, so they probably wasnt realizing it
It's extremely hard to remember how a perpetrator looks like unless he had some unique "features" (clothes etc.) you remember unless you were focussed on him when you ran for your life. He looks like an average teen. Check how Breivik was dressed and you know what I mean. A random shirt or cap is nothing you remember then.
I was in the middle of a shooting and the last thing in your mind is let me look at the shooter. You run or hide for your life.

I feel bad for him as well but he did a great job staying brave throughout those 10 minutes when he had to testify in court. He did the best job recalling what happened on February 14, 2018 in the afternoon.

The sad part is this trial/spectacle is exactly what the killer wanted. He felt like his life was meaningless and this is the unfortunate way upon which he decided to bring meaning to his life. He has received the attention he wanted and the court filming this is giving it to him. Despite his fake meek appearance, he is happy af.

I say this with a saddened heart for all the family’s in my home state who lost a child, but Florida needs to hold true to values and take this kids life just like he took many young innocent others. This is insane. This guy was bathing in panic and horror of all those kids coming into the walmart/subway. He knew those kids would be there and he wanted to see their fear and panic. He got himself an icee to enjoy and just watch the pain on these kids faces. Zero remorse. He enjoyed every aspect of what he did.
I wonder how many of those Subway patrons are watching this trial & are now realizing they were in the same room with a mass killer.

Here in the good ol US of A the death penalty is a joke. The deathrow inmates sit there for decades getting 3 hots 1 cot every day in a well lit building with heating & AC they tend to die of some medical complication before they even reach the execution chamber, EG: a serial killer named "the Night Stalker" got the death penalty in 1989 then died in 2013 from natural causes, thats 24 years! Almost a quarter of a century he has been sitting there being taken care of.

This is a standard question by the attny to ask a witness of the event on that day, as response by the witness is STATE evidence. So few people here understand procedural LAW or understand the court system
