EVERYONE - the normal watch functions still work even if the battery is insufficiently charged for GPS functionality. This is exactly what I'm looking for, a watch that I can bruise around and still be able to take on long hikes / runs while gathering data. If I'm too lazy to charge it - it just becomes a simple G-shock with no GPS functionality. I like that.
I had great fun making this film and the watches are also impressively strong. It was in the post to be sent for being used on an advert straight after this shoot and did not have a single mark on it:)
Amazing, amazing, amazing and once again - amazing watch!!!! I love g-shock watches and this is just la creme de la creme. Hope one day to be able to buy it! Casio you are a classic!

I’ve got mine yesterday!! It s just amazing. Very very nice product. Good material like Carbon strap, ceramic case... Very intuitive with the app... Tides graph is excellent, many spot in the World are recensed. Just négative point for me, they are no decimal (1/10, 1/100) in chronometer fonction.
It’s a gimmick for 99.9999% people, unless you plan on venturing into jungle and living there. Only it will probably die in the jungle because it won’t get enough solar exposure. I’ll prefer a watch that can last months without solar.
Thanks for the review! Very helpful indeed! I own the black one myself and so far I love it. The only thing that I wish it could have is the hourly time signal. I usually get busy at work and lose track of time and such a simple function can help a lot.
I will use all these amazing features when......I'm in the Cafe!! On my rugged evening stroll!! AND, when I am fully submerged in the bath!! Carry on chaps!

Used in the movie Extraction on Netflix :) Never heard about this watch before. Thought it looked damn cool in the movie and hearing about it features made it even cooler. Do Garmin have any alternative to this? I dont think so
The one in Extraction is the GW-9400 Rangeman, kinda it's "smaller brother" so to speak; lacks the GPS/Maps/Backtrack feature, but it's an awesome watch nonetheless
Hi there ... I want to ask 1 question ... Is the model "Casio G-Shock GPR-B1000-1BER" still in production (new ones produced) or it is only the stock remaining in the market and it is fading out?
3:05 _"the watch will point in the direction you are facing..."_ amazing ...i could use my own hand for this awesome feat, but now i can use it for other activities huehuehue
I've had mine for about two-weeks. Navigating the menu is very easy. I found using the app on my smart phone to preprogram routes complicated so I had to reach out several times to tech support for assistance. One thing anyone who is considering this watch should be aware; it's much larger than it appears on the videos. I have several Suunto watches and this is by far the largest watch in my inventory. Surprisingly, for it's size it's pretty light weight.
Forget the watch, this video production is INCREDIBLE!! Question about the watch though; can you use the watch GPS on its own without needing to carry your smartphone around?
I wanted this watch so badly in 2019, but it was difficult to find. And ultra expensive. In the end I bought a Fenix 6X and I was more than happy with it. Sometimes I still feel the longings for the Rangeman though.
I find the Mudmaster kind of big, it's not as versatile on the day to day as say my original rangeman, I'll keep it though as it's my first G shock. Weird you find the Rangeman chunky, I put my Rangeman on this afternoon and it felt like shaking hands with a good friend or putting on a favorite jumper after wearing my SKX-007 all week to dinners. I wear it most days. lol.. everyone's different I guess. This new Rangeman looks pretty bulky.. unless you work in the marines, Police or Maritime support that kind of thing its features one would assume are almost completely wasted on you. You'd almost be better off paying half the price or more than I should say, and getting a Mudmaster and going out to dinner a few times with the wife. It's funny though the more watches you own or have owned the closer you start to look at the important things and less about the size.. I'm excited they are pushing the focus on technology though, I still support Casio they're a strong company.
For all asking the same question: 3d Mode is for presentation purpose only. You can NOT plan the route in 3d mode or use it while hiking. Even if it shows more details of the landscape. Very disappointed about that. Topo map does not show little lakes outdoors... A planned route can not be changed outdoors as it seems. You need to create a new one... :(
Titus Pullo i like the Rangeman very much and was hoping that we could create a route with satellite view for the outdoor trips so we can navigate outside without watching on a smartphone all the time. Therefore im so disappointed. Probably will buy it anyway...
The sun is out, I think if it was cold he would put a hat on:) Do you believe we used CGI haha. The budget did not go that far. I've worked in Antarctica in -20 degrees celsius for most of the day with no hat on and only a T-shirt on because the sun was out and it was calm:)

For a watch like this, the cost is justified. Same cost as a Samsung S10. Be informed that this Rangeman is already using sapphire glass rather than the traditional mineral glass. Luxury watches the likes of Oris, Omega and Rolex uses sapphire glasses for scratch resistant. Sapphire glass is very expensive. Therefore, having a full application features and advance technology that you can get in a watch plus some luxury watch features, the cost is justified.
