  • Well, here are some simple feature samples for you. The new RANGEMAN is relatively accurate, no joke. I love it and will continue to have so much fun with it, my poor MUDMAN isn't getting as much wrist time now. #thecovertcrow #casio #casiogshock #gshock #gshockrangeman #gshockmove #gshockGPRH1000

    I've been using it basically just as a watch with notifications on. Only use gps on the rare occasion for walks and whatnot. Battery is on 3 bars and that's with a months use.
    Have found the GPS tracking has gotten a lot more accurate on the map and faster over time.

      Thanks for watching, look at GBDH2000 gshock MOVE, it’s lighter, same ruggedness and got trekking update so a better bargain. Cheers

      @@TheCovertCrow can you compare the battery between them? I’m having a garmin and it’s working perfectly, but it’s not Gshock. I do the running 3 - 5km everyday, and I plan to wear it while sleeping with the heart rate monitoring like I’m doing with my Garmin. So do you think the battery is good enough for me with that daily use? I expected to charge it like 4 - 5 days with that usage, is that possible?

    Great video, I like this watch, especially the MIP display,and the ABC sensors. I have the first rangeman gw9400 and I love it. Then I get the GWG 1000-1A3ER mudmaster, and is my favorite G-shock. I don't know why, but this new rangeman is not an instant buy for me. Maybe I'm not used to charge my watch and connect with my smartphone,and update the software. I like the standalone watch that will work in any condition.

    • @TheCovertCrow
      @TheCovertCrow  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes me too, Mudman GW9500 would work for you but I too am drawn to the new Rangeman despite the connectivity, love it so far! Thanks for watching

    • @mwboost
      @mwboost 2 месяца назад +1

      You don't need the connectivity. I don't use it. Only use HR and GPS if I really want track a walk or something. Pair it up to check the details, and then unpair. But never really. Don't use notifications anymore either. The battery is still on 4 bars after a month.

    Can you make a gbd h2000 vs gpr h1000 and help clear my confusion as to which one to buy. Also talk about sleep monitor in practicle sense

    • @TheCovertCrow
      @TheCovertCrow  Месяц назад +1

      Without getting too in depth right now, the MOVE just got Trekking update so it does everything the GPR H1000 does except for tide function so if you can handle that, save some money and get the GBDH2000. Thanks for watching

    SOFTWARE UPDATE:
    Just an FYI that the GPR-H1000 received an update, which enables much faster satellite connection.
    Massive practical improvement.
    I'm so impressed with this piece, and it's usability now.
    IMHO, it's an issue that should've been addressed before release in that I believe damage was done to the reputation of both Casio and the Gshock/ Rangeman name.
    That said, this watch is now a complete workhorse for me.
    I love it.

    Think i may retire or use my gg-b100 less for this gigadad model . It's been beat to hell, but besides being worn down on all its edges and some spots on the glass from welding slag and scratches it is a rock solid watch.

    I need to ask a rather silly question.
    As a watch enthusiast who really enjoys automatic and mechanical movements, I am torn about buying a digital watch. Not because of the quality, but with the slew of features present on any of the modern watches (like what you showed) I am worried that I will get hooked, and always wish to wear the ”gizmo” watch. It will in effect render my mechanical movement watches something only for formal dress, opting for the digitally enhanced version for my daily wear. Even if I switch between them, the added digital functionality is lost on me as it may only put it once in a weekly rotation.
    This is one of the main reasons I will not buy an Apple Watch.
    What are your thoughts on this, how do you deal with a proper marriage between old technology, and all the bells and whistles offered by the newer G-Shock and like systems?
    I hope my question makes sense.
    Happy Easter!

    • @TheCovertCrow

      Cheers, and thanks for watching. As an enthusiast don't feel pressure to like anything but what you like. It's your wrist, and it don't matter what anyone thinks. I love my Omega Speedmaster Professional, Tudor black bay GMT.....but ive been wearing digital watches since I was a kid after the Mickey Mouse starter I got at 8-9 years old. From time to time you just want that watch on that gives you lot of features with the protections from the elements. G-SHOCK can't be beat, and now they're offering so much function, it makes it fun too...u get to engage with the watch on another level. Don't get me wrong, I love automatic watches but there's no reason why you can't enjoy the best of both worlds. And the budget will thank you for it. See you again and good luck. I would start with the GW9500 MUDMAN, powerful and tough solar, no Bluetooth connectivity to worry about.

      Hey Richard, that’s a great question.. I love my mechanical watch collection, and about a year ago thought I would try the Apple Watch Ultra. I have absolutely loved it, I find the tracking and stats, and connectivity really useful, but I realised that it sucked me into wearing it all the time to make sure I hit any goals in the health/fitness stuff and achieved the monthly challenges that would be set, and was starting to feel guilty if I missed a day or two.. I barely wear my mechanical watches… I am now looking at this G Shock to replace the Apple. I love the stats like steps, sleep , heart rate etc, I’m no super sports person,but it’s a nice way to keep on top of things.. I feel like this g shock will cover everything I want from a “connected/fitness” watch, but also feel like a mechanical in a way.
      Also I won’t feel like I’m missing out on completing challenges that Apple set. (I realise that these challenges are great motivation, but not when I feel guilt if I can’t hit them for whatever reason),
      And I want to start wearing my mechanical watches from time to time now.
      Hope that makes sense

      @@gpsearle it does, thank you very much. my fear with any form of smart watch, is that it would force me into wearing it at the exclusion of all else… and from what you’re saying, that sounds like a realistic fear

      Hahaa well gang, that’s why I wear two, tracking digital on my right and sometimes a mechanical automatic on the left so I can still have the best of both worlds. Right now it’s Gshock MOVE or Garmin for the right. Thanks for watching
