Really? Well time favorites? I love a bunch but I'm struggling wanting to get this one. I have the GBD 200 and I want to love it but I hate that it doesn't have a normal timer for example
I’m pretty sure one of the many Garmins would be better than this but I want this because it’s a G Shock and it looks amazing. I have the GBD200 and i think I’ll upgrade to this. For my simple running and weights needs (and G Shock enthusiast needs!) this is great
I have one for those exact reasons, and I can hardly manage to take it off for a day, even to swap it for another g-shock! Best g-shock and has solar and some simplistic sport watch functionality
@@gemivan I got it and I love it, but the solar is a bit of a swizz. It can keep the watch functioning as a watch but it can’t actually charge the battery to the high level needed for the GPS, heart rate etc. however the battery lasts weeks on a single charge (and me using it 4-5 times a week to run) and it’s nice to know it will always keep running in its basic mode
I love mine and noticed the same issues. I got lucky and bought it used (looked brand new) for $180 which I think at the price is perfect. I use the workout, cycling, hiking, and walking functions. Easy to track things to Strava, which I use for a point system for a significant medical insurance discount I receive if I hit certain metrics, which is easy with this watch.
Weirdly some cons are present with the GBD-200 I recently received (yeah, I know I´m about 2 years late). The software wants every button press in the menue to be confimed which takes 15-30s which is frustrating. I still kind of think that is sort of related to the MIP display.
Jory - buy a CWC - it has something called a running seconds hand that you can use to time things
Had this watch. Watch band was fantastic. Very comfortable. Everything else was half-baked. Ended up returning it for a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar.

@@AlejandroRomeroRomeroFitness maybe should have considered the Garmin instinct x2. I went from the GBH 2000 to the Garmin instinct and I don’t regret it, it’s far superior in every way

@@AlejandroRomeroRomeroFitness and it will. There is nothing wrong with the GBD-H2000. It is a flawless device. Beautiful and comfortable but the actual functionality mixed with the app and things in comparison to the Garmin isn’t quite so good. But trust me you will love the watch.
Does the Casio app sync heart rate and training sessions with the Apple Health and Fitness apps?
Is this just a less capable version of a Garmin watch? I think it is intended for the same basic function of tracking workout data; time, distance, pace, elevation, heart rate, sleep, Vo2 Max, pulse oximimeter. Probably no maps, ski resort trail maps. Can it download running courses to follow? My 'Fenix 6 Pro Solar' can play music directly to my headphones, so i don't need to take my phone on workouts. I'll have to do some pricing research on the G-Shock, but Garmin has a wide range of designs and prices to choose from.
I've noticed your watch seems like it's inner light is constantly on. How is that and wouldn't that sap your battery out quickly? I own the GPR 1000 Rangeman and the light only lasts like 2 seconds.
You need to explore your watch setting. Got 2 option timing. U can choose 1.5 second or 5 second for light to turn on.. I'm owning this black color watch. No major issues so far..
Sorry to ask but if you don’t use the app how do you know it could be better? I use the app while is not stellar I was able to use it with Strava and have gotten a lot of use out of it without hardly any malfunction. I use the watch to hell with cycling running and workouts I can’t say the things you are stating are real issues after you get used to the watch. But again we all have different tolerances when it comes to our watches. It is a great watch for me.
I mountain bike and I've heard some people say the heart-rate sensor isn't accurate while biking. Is that true? Have you had any instances like that?
@@marmachuk16 most watches are not as accurate as a chest strap and an arm strap. I am at an amateur level cyclist and runner and it does well enough to know the zone I am in while training. if you are looking something super accurate watches alone will probably not do you. cheers
Guys a question: I got this watch recently and I paired it with the Casio app, but then I found out there was a specific g shock app, do I need to have them both to get all of the functions or is it the same ?
the gshock app is being discontinued the Casio app is the new app for all gshocks with Bluetooth
Don't need a step counter, just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I wear a "normal" watch on my left wrist as usual. On my right wrist is a Xiaomi Band 8, which tracks steps, bpm, SpO², weather, etc.
Right, but the point is to see how many times you do that in a day
Use google map to estimate the distance walked and log it manually in some app (like habit tracker). This way no need of any watch to track daily distance walked (outdoor).

#1 should be the fact that you have to plug it into charge it and connect it to your phone with Bluetooth.
Perhaps the inside of the button is dirty... Needs service...
I bought this model last week for workouts and ending up returning it. The watch just did not feel as rugged as my other G-Shocks especially with that ridiculous plastic buckle and the software was absolutely terrible. The heart rate sensor was also wildly inaccurate and was showing my resting heart rate to be in the 110-120 range when it was really 74. I loved the color but it was not at all what i hoped it would be. Once i get my refund I will be picking up a Garmin Instinct 2X Solar.

If you are looking for a sportswatch try one of the Garmins
Pros:
-A lot of functions for sports and other activities that required the sesnsors.
-6 sensors.
-GPS update datetime
-Light and very confortable
-Really very resistant to impacts and other bad bad treatment
-Very legible display
-If not using GPS and beat rate measurmente everytime the battery lasts a lot
-One of the most advanced watch in the market
-Relatively cheap
Cons:
-Lack of customization options like faces, you cant put for example the barometer en any face
-Must use app for customize some features
-App is an authentic garbage
-Compass need calibrate everytime access the function.
-Not signal alarm every hour
-Some sport fuctions arent well designed
-The GPS por sports takes a long time to connect.
-Unstable bluetooth connection
-The risk of each firmware update the watch become unusable, the process disable many functions in watch and if the update fails, the functions remains disabled.
Is an awesome Gshock wacth but is not an sport watch that take advantage of an app.
