probably they put it because it needs to be recharged more in a fast and easy way... not much like smartwatches but i think it will need lot more juice than previous rangeman
Are jeeps really that prone to breaking down? I also heard land rovers are pretty much similar. Whenever I ask people about off roading, they say toyota is the best choice. Is that true?
@@Nokia-ck8bn Pretty much true. Jeeps and Rovers breaks down a lot. They are very very unreliable. Toyotas and Chevys are pretty good. But you can't just trust brand. You need to know what specific model of which brand works best. That being said, jeeps and rovers are garbage in general. You need to modify them to make them okay.
I figure that the watch uses an app from your phone as a second screen to show the data it collects from GPS. If there is no cell signal, the watch still can be used to navigate. The phone app enhances the experience because it is optimized for the watch.
Well there are no gadgets that better than your experience for surviving. I will use this watch for travelling interesting places and it can be very good for urban or short trekking
One small thing. The Auto LED back-light in Rangeman is the kind of light you get from a $1 watch. You can barely see the battery level there. Why don't they do an electroluminescent (EL) light? It's brighter and it does't take that much battery.
Good work G Shock, it's a very tactical and survival kinda watch, but when you lost like that at the desert in the middle of the night, and you activate the GPS, wow! You're not gonna last and going nowhere until you get bitten by the scorpions!
I recieved mine yesterday. I love the aesthetics of the watch and it is feature heavy. 2 drawbacks. I cannot get the watch to work with the supplied charging cradle. Also the Tide and Moon graph doesn't work. Casio fail to explain in any of their manuals how to set the feature up so now I am expected to ring the local service center up. These problems aside (assuming they can be fixed) this has the potential for being a great watch.
Game changer watch when you think how durable it is to most top smart watches in the market. Solar powered is amazingly useful rather then charging all the time. Will buy V 2.0 when it comes out with an heart rate monitor and Google maps!

And after two years of time the rangeman has again being defeated by garmin’s Felix 6 and tactix .really wish Casio will provide a new rangeman watch with a better GPS system and lighter weight next year.

Only stock is remaining. Since Casio came out with the GSW-H1000 with WearOS, they discontinued the GPR-B1000. Looking around on eBay, the GPR series is going for around $500-3000 still and most of them are coming from Japan.

As far as i tested the App the here shown 3d Mode for navigation does only presentate your topo map created route for a short time. No navigation with satellite view during hiking or planning the route in satellite view. That's disappointing because the topo map doesnt show little lakes or water sources in the wild contrary to the satellite view. So when you plan an outdoor trip at home with the app you cannot see all the lakes and water ressources. Why does Casio give us no option to plan in satellite view??? This is what outdoor people do... So i will use Locus as i did before.
