Had one exactly like that, gifted it to my brother. Now, after three months, i am missing it, so i bought another one, with yellow accents.
Very comfortable watch to wear.
That's exactly what my older brother did lol
I love my Rangeman, my wife bought it for me for Father’s Day.
Very nice review. Detailed, succinct, good pace -- nicely done. Thank you.
Great review. Very well written and presented. I have had a Rangeman for three years and it’s one of my favorite watches. Thanks for your work.
Great watch! I have the blacked out tactical version and I love It. I have a GWG-1000 too, but the Rangeman is easier to use because the Mudmaster has a crown and It' s a little bit annoying imao to set some functions all the time. Anyway, I love them both, but the GW-9400 is the greatest G-shock ever made!
great comment thank you!
I have the black out rangeman and love it. I’m 54 and can see it just fine. Awesome watch
I like the way the functions are accessible from different modes. For example the stopwatch shortcut in time mode (bottom right button)
Or the 'Save' feature in any screen (top right button)
It's really intuitive and easy to use and not having to change the battery is the icing on the cake. Had my Rangeman 4 and a half years now and it's very dependable. I hike in the jungle twice a week, and this watch was a lifesaver when the GPS on my phone packed up.. if it wasn't for the Rangeman, I would have been completely lost and stuck. Managed to hack my way to freedom in 4 hours following the compass bearing.
great comment thanks for sharing that!
Yeah, great ‘story’ 🤭
PROTEK PRW 2500 CRUSHES THIS RANGEMAN AS IVE HAD BOTH
Just sub'd. This might be the BEST review I have ever seen on a G shock. Someone ought to sent it to Casio.
They need you to be doing reviews for them, IF you aren't already. Excellent job !!~
Great review. I've always liked the look and capabilities of the GW-9400. I have a Mudmaster which has similar capabilities, but I'm considering adding the GW-9400 to my collection just because it's such a cool tool watch.
Great review. I've had a Rangeman for years and love it.
Right on!
I have a GG-B100 and man I love that watch. I received this Rangeman today so there's alot of learning to do. I know I will love it also, and your review was fantastic. Thank you!
Thank for you for that! I hope you love your new Rangeman!
also from Italy I congratulate you for your video review, it's the best on youtube, you explain all the features quickly without long speeches. I just purchased the watch and I love it!
Glad it was helpful!
Great review, very informative visualy and technicaly. 👏 That's a real apocalypse watch a true Rangeman ubreakable and it does not need any external connection or charging every few days
Awesome review thanks very much 👍
Great review of my currently favorite watch! Thank you.
Awesome watch! Love this big fella ⌚️
Superb review of a great watch. Everyday I am more and more inclined into getting a Rangeman. I hike a lot so the barometer seems to be super handy.
it is a fantastic watch!
This is the best in depth watch review I've seen!
Thank you!
G shock Rangeman built with the zombie apocalypse in mind. Great time piece, worth every single penny. Get one
7 years and still running strong. Never need to charge or adjust time. This thing just works and I actually use every feature. Just make sure you calibrate it to your Lat/Long, Altitude, Time Zone... I recalibrate around 1x per year. Also, the temperature gets goofy since it's on your wrist but is very accurate if you take it off and really need to know. I use the temp reading to see if I'm personally overheating.
I adjusted my thermometer to read/compensate to the proper outdoor temperature while it’s on my body
@@sneakypetesproductreviews I do that too but it changes and still isn't super accurate. I do HVAC work and proper temp readings are crucial. Only way I would trust it is off my wrist and after maybe 5min to acclimate. So I have special tools for work purposes but I'd use my gshock in a pinch for less critical readings.
Why to calibrate altitude? It is supposed the watch tells you that value.
@@bestopinion9257 well when you are standing at sea level and it says it's off by several meters, that's a good time to adjust it. If it's at zero, you know you are good.
@@jcgarcia1931 All the time it will tell you wrong numbers (meters). That's because the sensor is for barometer. And by that value altitude is calculated. And atmospheric pressure is changeable. Sometimes it tells me 380m, another times values up to 415m. And I do not move a foot far from my chair. :) Btw, close to 386m is the correct value.
Best detail G-Shock review. Hands down. 👏
Appreciate that!
Fantastic review and very helpful! I have a ggb100 Mudmaster and gbdh1000. Cant wait to till my Rangeman comes in.
Good choice!
Very comprehensive review, I actually watched this before I went out and bought one yesterday. Good job, you've earned yourself another subscriber! 👍🏼
Awesome! I hope you love the watch 😎
@@sneakypetesproductreviews i do, thanks! Quick question though, I got mine with battery on M. Still on M today, is that normal?
@@HaileSt0rm yah it can take a few days to get to H, but from that point forward it'll usually be on H forever if you wear it all regularly
@@sneakypetesproductreviews awesome, thought there might be something wrong with it. Thanks for the info! 👍🏼
Great job!!
Congratulations! I've seen tips that I had never seen in other reviews, and I've seen quite a few...
Awesome! Thank you!
Great review Man!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Just today i recieved my GW 9400 and I just loved it. Thanks for your video because I was confused between two mudmaster GWG 2000 and GW 9400 and your video given me some more clear idea and saved some money from it and took best decision.
glad to hear that, enjoy your watch!
@@sneakypetesproductreviews sure buddy and thanks a lot for your all the efforts towards this video because it has so much information which helped me to picked right watch for my lifetime adventure plans. Kudos to you man appreciate your help and support. 👍❤️😊🙏
@@DharmS appreciate that comment thank you!!
Awesome review 👏 thanks 💯
Thanks for watching!
The barometer function would be great for boating or kayaking. Potentially life saving. Great review. 😎
Good call!
I absolutely love my Casio g-shocks including this one... However a cheaper garmin Instinc (or fenix if you want to spend the $$$) would be light years ahead for those activities... When I hike I leave my Rangeman on my desk and use my Fenix 7x... It is just better for outdoor activities/adventures in every way (save for diving as it only has a 10bar water resistance)....
id go with a garmin rino 755t.. But its not a watch.. Hehe
Water can damage the sensor for barometer. Because air must enter in the sensor chamber not water. That's why Frogman does not implement it (except exceptions 🤔)
@@skilledjack7054 That depends :) I have no interest in tracking my activities and if I need GPS I just use my phone. If you're going off the beaten path for a long duration of course the phone will run out, then the maps on the Fenix line is really useful.
Great Review!! I have worn this watch for over 6 Years! It really has been the best watch I have had, never had any problems ever. Battery still going strong, the tough solar should be on all watches. Looking for another G Shock, and considering the New Mudmaster GWG2000, what are your thoughts?
Just bought one yesterday, thanks, a few useful tips. I'd say my wrist is quite small, although 2 strap holes bigger than yours. I bought from a physical shop as I was concerned about size. It is big but fits really nicely and I really can't feel I'm wearing it.
Thanks for the video. This in green is my favorite watch, too. Just a small correction. It is not a screwdown caseback (though I wish it were), it is just a caseback with screws that go down into the resin case.... Just to keep in mind.
I have the gw9400dcj desert camouflage since 2018. Love this watch
It’s fantastic!
Ordered One a few days ago beast watch
Really appreciate your help and support and knowledge you shared with us and they way you shared each and every details in to deep div understanding it’s just amazing guest experience I would say and big thanks man and I have confused between GWG 2000 and GW 9400 so please guide me which one should I pick ? And I am raw adventure person too and I want to pick the best one with value for money price point. Any help would be appreciated. ❤😊🙏👍
Supreme review!
Thank you!
Excellent review
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey I think your presentation was awesome on this range man I know I love mine and I really like how you presented such a beautiful watchpack with so many features and solar powered yes it's a beautiful and it's a big watch very Stout rugged can go through anything in the woods thank you so much for sharing this video I subscribe to your channel and I give you 10 Stars 👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
thank you Joe!
I have a green negative display rangeman watch and has many functions. It´s very confortable to wear. I love mt rangeman!!!Greetings from Brazil!!!
Hello Brazil !
Great review 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
I love my Rangeman. I did own the Rangeman Navi GPS watch, and as much as I loved the functions of that watch, the dial to switch modes stopped working, and I am not rough on my watches. If I want tough, my Rangeman GW9400 or my Frogman GWF1000 are my go to watches. Excellent review. One of the best reviews on the GW9400
If you want tough, Rangeman is not the way to go. It has weak logs, there are many complains about that.
It seems to me that the Rangeman, no matter how premium, always seems to have issues.
Yes, I agree. The Rangeman is a tough watch. Mine went through a lot of tough stuff hiking, at work, swimming, snorkelling etc. I never had problem in the 5 years with the lugs. I think people overemphasize the lug issue
Honestly the best Rangeman review I have seen, on my I receive the signal 9 out of 10 times. Not sure where you live but I live just outside of Montreal.
Vancouver, it sits next to other multiband 6 watches but doesn’t get it as often for me. thanks for watching!
I own a gwg 1000, GX5600, and frogman. This is the most comfortable watch I own.
IVE HAD THIS WATCH BUT I RECENTLY BOUGHT THE PROTEK 2500 WHICH IS A BEAST
Solid review solid watch
Thank you!
I have this watch since 4 years and I love this thing. Ok it is not perfekt and I miss some features to make it so but for this price and what's around on the market it is the best watch you can get. I tried some other G-Shocks and also a Garmin smartwatch (it's not realy fair to compare two different things) but still the Rangman is the best offer. It is easy to use, has a lot of useful features, it is realy easy to read (and clever designed to quickly use the most used funktions with buttens make to use with human fingers even in gloves) and just keeps up no matter what you are doing. It survied rock picking, all sorts of weather, dirt and dust, water with and without salt, digging for days, shocks from impaks (boxing, downhill, cross runs, thrust drilling). Also it is not to expensiv to realy use this thing intensly.
Great review man. I like the PRG 340 a little better. The rangeman is so nice but so big in comparison. But the display is everything I love about Casio watches.
Nice review. Got the watch and love it. I´ve got the GWG-1000 Mudmaster too and use that one the most, as my eyesight is not as good as when I was younger, and the Mudmaster has dials that are very clear and the ABC sensor too.
I will warn you regarding the bearing function you talked about in the compass mode...it will only take you back to your car if you walk away from it in a straight line 🙂
nice thanks for watching!
Great review. Just bought one of these for fun. I am not an army Ranger so do not need any of the unique functions. I only wanted this for fun. Sounds like it will be. Thanks.
Nice man I hope you love it!
God tier watch!
A very nice and interesting review nice little 🧠 insert it seems a great watch if the shtf.🍻
100% agree!
Nice review.
Thank you! Cheers!
I have this one too and also the GPR-B1000JR Rangeman
I want one of those soooo bad! But they are pricey if the find them now, looks awesome
indeed very handsome watch full of amazing features.
Great, in depth review. I see the bold arrow flashing just above the “baro”. Is this the visual storm alert you were talking about?
Yes, it is
@@sneakypetesproductreviews Awesome. Thank you.
i break everything and this watch has survived 4 years on my wrist doing construction labor jackhammering smashing it into nails rocks gasoline, this watch is great wish i had a new strap though. been usong a fabric strap since the old one dissolved in concrete.
Love to hear stories like that, they are rugged watches!
@@sneakypetesproductreviews best digital watch hands down. And the sapphire is ultra scratch proof
@@astrofarmer9350It doesn't have Sapphire Glass.
I have the GA-B2100-1A and love it, and the next one is gw-m5610u-1ber, and my last will be the rangeman, cant wait
the Rangeman feels like a necessary addition to a G-Shock collection, so beefy!
You will need a steel G-Shock afterwards. It's inevitable.
I like the watch. The compass is nice, but if I really depended on a compass, I'd bring a stand alone compass.
For the time synch in North America, you'll need a window with an unobstructed view towards Colorado.
Thank you for sharing my watch great presentation I couldn't explain it any better you actually sounded like a representative for Casio your number one I subscribed your channel because of your knowledge very important happy holidays to you 👍
Good video. Which do you have more of though, G Shocks or water pipes?
Water pipes for sure haha that’s our bread & butter
Bongs in the background 🤣🤟
gotta keep it real
Great video, you need to try ggb100.
Hmm maybe I should!
best clock ever
Just bought the last Japanese domestic model on Amazon, should get it on Friday 😅
Nice!
Great review...got the watch today...I am happy with it...
awesome did you get the black one?
Yes.... actually I was searching for green one...but it is out of stock longtime back...the black one looks rugged & elegant...it suits on every casual wear...
Hi bro after watching so many videos on RUclips and especially your videos on GW 9400 I just bought but the only thing is that my automatically time set is not working and I am not sure that is this because of 6 time zones ? And I am staying in India so because of that this feature not working? Because that 2 bend is in Japan so it’s far I feel from india so please let me know and I also going to service centre for this issue so let’s see and appreciate your help and support buddy 😊❤
My favorite
Lovely watch!
Thank you for the great video.
I have a question though. Does all GW-400 come in same sizes? Actually, i just bought one recently and somehow it feels small in size.
thanks for watching, sorry I don’t have that watch to compare
Cool !
Hi, great video, thanks.
My new year resolution lasted just over a month as I'm waiting for delivery of my GW-9400Y-1ER
RANGEMAN- ARMOUR JACKET SERIES.
I've owned a GW-9200-1er Riseman for 12 years and its been 100% accurate.
Heya, the reason why the Band 6 is not working consistently might be because Barometer function is on. It disables power saving and time syncing function.
yah I am aware of that point, not the case with my watch
The Rangeman display is 100% digital. For a watch that has so many features, this enables the user to read all the various info and readouts easily.
yep it’s a digital watch
How did you get the arrow where the barometric reading is???
Seems like a damn near perfect watch... Other than it doesn't have vibration alarm?? 😭 That would complete it for me!
well said.
thank you!
That’s happy ending😮😅
At the risk of asking a stupid question... Knowing that counterfeit G-Shock watches are in the marketplace can you guarantee that the Amazon link you provided is a legitimate Casio product? I plan to buy one based on your review.
Guess Im not alone with atomic time sync. My squares always receives signals while my rangeman barely receives or even not at all.
very odd, mine has been better this last week, but in general it’s not as good as my square G-Shocks
Even if you get a signal once a month you are probably going to be just fine. These watches stay fairly accurate for long periods of time
@@krispybowgod9656 still, I want it to get it as consistently as my other multiband 6 watches, and the fact that is gets it a fraction of the time as my other watches isn’t ideal
@@sneakypetesproductreviews even my 1000 dollar Mudmaster 2000 doesn’t get a signal every day. I feel like it has something to do with the multisensor watches for some reason. Either way if my watch connects 2-3 times a week I’m
Totally fine with that as it’s going to be bang on accuracy wise
@@krispybowgod9656 cool, my GW-M5610U gets the signal 95%+ of the days, so comparatively this one doesn't sync nearly as good
Do I understand correctly that if the Barometer Up/Down Arrow feature is turned on the watch will Never synchronize with the Atomic Clock?
correct
I guess he didnt know the gw9400 had a 1000 hour stop watch as well. Which is my favorite feature.
what do you use a 1000hr stop watch for exactly?
@@sneakypetesproductreviews To see how many hours Ive been woke working m 2 jobs and doing overtime from time to time. Or traveling to see how long different traveling rides take. Its just cool to have that feature and not have to keep resetting it. Thats what sets it apart from most gshocks
@@MPLetsTalkAboutIt nice!
Mhhh Rangeman or Mudmaster, e g the GG-B100? Not far apart in price, but which to prefer? One solar, one not, but if solar is not a showstopper…??? What’s your opinion guys?
Could I ask what your wrist circumference is please?
About 6.75”
Hello, Would you recommend gw-9300 for lower budgets? I found it for 170 dollars, should I buy it?
sorry I haven’t owned that one myself
any issue for Fog for this type ? thank you
Not for me
I bought this watches after watching your video, but what is this arrow blinking near barometer graph at 0:09 secs
that the barometer indicator, it’ll alert you if there is a significant change
4 years and going strong.
Awesome!
This is my post apocalyptic watch
Perfect choice!
For what’s helping “REC” function ?
it automatically receives the time sync every night, no assistance required
I wear it daily , even while sleeping 😂
Hey Pete what happened to the other Channel?
youtube keeps striking our content so it’s all past, current, and future content can be found directly on our websites. we hope to livestream on RUclips again in the future but that’ll probably be about it
I have the GW9400 and the Blackout version. Nice watches but I prefer the Gulfmaster or Mudmaster. I find the digital side too "sporty".
Nice!
The only watch you'll need. Problem is that you won't stop at one G Shock.
How it works?
With Battery or
Solar
I've been wearing Casio watches since I was an officer in the Navy in the early 80's. I believe the DW5000 came out in the summer of 1983 and it seemed like every junior officer bought one. I still have mine, but the resin has degraded and fallen off. Currently, I have two watches I wear 75% of the time. My GW 9400 Rangeman and a Breitling Super Avenger 2 (48mm blue) with blue silicon band. I love my Rangeman, most useful watch I've ever owned. It's a watch and a toolbox all in one. But now with all the apps on cell phones these days, the cell phone has outdated the Rangeman's functional use, and I can understand how kids these days don't wear watches anymore and just carry their cell phones.
Cell phones are great while in cell phone range and for 12-24 hours until they run out of batteries. For 95% of use cases that’s usually fine but a watch like the rangeman is always nice to have around as it’ll run forever with a bit of sunlight
I have to make a clip to give away.
1:37 This problem is mostly due to physical barriers. Mines about the same it'll get a sync every 2-4 nights on my nightstand but it'll sync perfectly every night if I set it across the room on a dresser or by the window. Leave it in a new spot every few nights and see where the reception is the best for you :)
not sure what you mean by ‘physical barriers’ as if I have this sitting beside my other multi-band 6 watches, it only gets the sync about half of the time compared to the other watches
@@sneakypetesproductreviews physical barriers as in your roof, walls etc in correlation to the atomic towers. Doesn't take genius to figure that one out...
@@Wooddsman well genius, how would a physical barrier like a wall or roof affect this watch, but not the watch sitting directly beside it? if you watch and comprehend the video, I'm saying all things identical, this watch does not get the atomic sync as well as my other multi-band 6 watches that sit in exactly the same place
@@sneakypetesproductreviews Are you usually this slow? They have different antennas lmao. It literally says in the gw9400 handbook to place it in a window sill and keep it away from other interfering sources ie other electronics, off a metal surface and out of enclosed areas / "busy areas" or whatever that means
@@Wooddsman yes they have different antennas...one is better than the other, that's the point. you do seem a bit simple but maybe you can understand it when I put it that clearly. I have 6 G-Shocks with multi-band 6. out of all 6, this is the only one that won't sync out of the 6, regardless of the physical location if the room. can you understand it if I make it that easy for you?
13 year .. battery still going strong
That’s awesome!
Tough solar, tough watch means it’s waterproof. You can take it onto 200 m in a pool or water park.
Bluetooth ??
Big? Compared to the GPR-B1000 or the Gulfmaster it’s a pee wee.
this is not a small watch no matter how you slice it
Text Solomon’s waterproof or tough Watchmans waterproof member
Only if they constructed the lugs differently.... The fragile lugs are a design flaw on the Ranger
