Your videos are so clear and easy to follow! Ever since I started with your C2C video about a year and 1/2 ago, I've progressed to other projects. Thank you for sharing your work. I've made this blanket in a baby boy version and it turned out great. You made me realize I wasn't hopeless when it came to learning how to crochet. I always recommend your videos to anyone who wants to learn. This was such a fun project. Thank you!
I just have to say thank you for all of your wonderful tutorials because of you I learned so much I've Ben able to get everything you say in these step by steps you do thank you
Hey Bella Coco, great pattern! I'm finishing my granny rows on my second repeat set already, excitedly awaiting part 2. Going to give to my baby sis. 3 months ago I had no idea how to crochet. You're a great teacher, thanks.
Hi Sarah, I purchased your pattern for this blanket. Your color and stitch chart are invaluable. Thank you such a fun pretty baby blanket. I love your tutorials and video blogs. Love to you, your family and your baby girl. ❤️🌺💐
What an easy way you are doing your tutorials! Love all of them especially your left handed tutorials. However being left handed it really is not that difficult to even follow your right handed tutorials.
This is so beautiful. I have just started crochet and started this blanket. My tension is still not right and feel I am doing my rows too tight... but still loving the colours and bringing it together 💜
Thank you, you have to remember that crochet is practice and patience and tension is one of the things that a lot of people struggle with. If you feel your rows are too tight you may want to try and go up a hook size to see if this helps :)
So many different blankets to try!!!! Love this. It reminds me of the look of the cosy stripe with bobbles. May do this instead of cosy stripe next. Need to save up enough to buy my wool though first :-)
Love love this pattern so much! I am making this blanket for my friend who is having a baby girl!! I brought this pattern and I am having trouble with row 10 when repeating the pattern. Can someone PLEASE help me if you did this blanket? For some reason I am getting 97 stitches plus a chain!! It is supposed to be 96 stitches. I have redone few rows and checked my granny stitch and everything is good except for the half double row 10! I am getting 98 stitches including the chain on the Granny row 9. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate it! Thank you!
I would like to tell you how much I love and enjoy so many of your tutorials. Almost as important as our yarn, patterns/tutorials, is our tools. I've been admiring your scissors for a while and I found my own pair at Hobby Lobby. But, I haven't been able to find a needle box like yours yet. All I have available to me besides Hobby Lobby is a Michael's. No Joanne's... Could you please share with me where to find a set of needles like yours? Whether it be an all in one package or just simply the storage box itself, I would really like to have one of my own also. It looks compact and easy to keep up with the needles.
If you take a look over on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/free-pattern-bobble-stripe-blanket/ you will find some instructions which explain how to make the bobble row; I would double check that you're working the correct amount of stitches 😊
Hi I'm in the process of makingvthis lovely blanket for my daughter who like you is about to have her first baby. Thought ivwould makes lovely nursing blanket for them both for night feeds I'm bit confused though as you said in the video you would explain about the alternating bobble rows and you dont... I have a detonate right side and a wrong side and don't know how to get the bobbles to all be on the right side... I also purchased pattern but itvdoesnt really say much . Help please
Hi I'm so happy this tutorial has come out I've been waiting since you announced it :) can I jut clarify that row 1 remains the same colour, it's just the other rows that change every block of nine rows?
Hi, just wondering if the fact it has to be in mutliples of 24 is to do with the bobble stitch? And could I put the bobbles closer together to make a different size?.... I'm making a hot water bottle cover and it's 34 stitches across + border.
Hi Sarah Jayne I’m having trouble with the bobble row getting ing the9 stitches off the hook otherwise I’m doing nicely looking good thank you for this lovely pattern the other problem I had I’ve solved please could you help me with this one thank you linda x
Hi Linda, Glad you like the pattern, don't do your stitches too tight and make sure your hook is turned downwards when you pull through, this should help. :)
I've done my main blanket colour in yellow, however it has flecks of different colours, when it comes to the bobbles I do them in a different variegated wool. Mainly because I don't actually know the sex of the baby, due in August, when I was born everything was knitted or crocheted in lemon or mint green, as in the late 60's technology wasn't as advanced as today, so there was no blue for boys and pink for girls.....until the baby was born.
Why do you crochet again in to the base of the turning chain? I thought the turning chain counted as your first stitch (single, half double or double crochet - us terms).
Hi! What is the width of this blanket at 96 stitches? Also, if we double to 192, do we still have to use the modified 4-5-6 pattern, or can we use the 6-7-8 pattern for the bobble row?
The final size of the blanket is 24 by 29 inches but this will differ depending on the yarn you use and your tension 😊 For any multiple of 24 other than 96 + 1 as I’ve used in the sample, you should use the 4-5-6 pattern.
I love, love, love this blanket but for the life of me I can’t get it to come out with the correct number of stitches when working the bobble stitch row. I’ve spent hours over the past two days working on this, using stitch markers and counting my head off. Frogging. Starting over. Frogging. Staring over. I purchased the pattern hoping for some clarity and while it has a great chart for the color changes, it hasn’t helped me figure out where I’m making my mistake. I don’t want to throw in the towel but I just can’t figure it out. 😕
Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear this. Is it possible that you're missing a stitch somewhere? When you make a bobble, the stitch can look a bit hidden. If you make a smaller swatch you could have a practise and hopefully figure out where you're going wrong without having to frog your big blanket.
Bella Coco I wish I knew! It’s clearly something I’m missing/dropping because I did the sample piece along with your tutorial and it came out great! Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Whatever I’m doing, it happens when I increase the count to make a full size blanket. I think I’ll just have to practice the sample size a few times before I try again. Thanks so much for replying! 😊 Also, it was very quick and easy to purchase the pattern from your website. I’m in the states and there wasn’t any issues with conversions.
Bella Coco thank you. One more question, not sure if you can help, but how many balls of wool per colour is required to make a lap blanket. I can’t wait to try though I only have 4 colours, of which the 1 colour is only 1 ball. Sadly can’t get more due to lock down.
Have I gone wrong somewhere please. On my second bobble row I have the wrong side facing. I have done the 9 row repeat so every other time it will have the wrong side facing? Am I missing anything obvious?
Hi Sallyann, when you are working with the bobble the wrong side facing push the bobble through to the other side. This might look a little different but it shouldn't be hugely obvious. Hope this helps :)
Hi hope you can help me am so stressed not sure what am doing wrong I got caron simply soft yarn and iv tryed and tryed to crochet striped blanket every time iv done 6 rows its seems longer than it should can you tell me why plz
Hi Veronica I can see where you have purchased the pattern, you need to log onto your bellacococrochet account, click on where its says 'my account' across the top of the page. You will see a menu on the left hand side - click on downloads and your pattern will be here :)
Hi Sarah-Jane, I’ve purchased this pattern and have completed the main part but it doesn’t have the instructions for the border. Is there a problem with the download? Thanks Sue
Hi Sue this has now been updated and you should be able to re-download the updated version. Please accept my apologies and if you have any problems please don't hesitate to contact us :)
Hi Diane thank you for pointing this out this has now been amended, however for your convenience here is the link - bellacococrochet.com/products/bobble-stripe-blanket-pattern :)
The stitch count doesn’t work if you do any more than 24 because in between each bobble you have 8 stitches once you have a bigger starting chain. EG I chained 120 which is a multiple of 24. I only have 5 stitches left at the end. 7+9+9+9+9+9+9+9+9 +9 +9+9+9 -( 9 being 8 HDC & 1 bobble) equals 115 stitches 5 left. Your sample only works because up to 24 it’s correct. So using a multiple of 24 does not work out correctly. I will have to ‘frog’ it & chain 122 (plus an extra for turning) to make this work.
You will find a pattern edit underneath the video - PATTERN EDIT If you are doing any other multiple of 24 (not including 96) The bobble row must do 4 half trebles, change on the 5th and then bobble on the 6th. This 6 stitch pattern will repeat all the way along. Do not bobble in the last stitch of that row. :)

If you take a look over on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/free-pattern-bobble-stripe-blanket/ you will find some instructions which explain how to make the bobble row; I would double check that you're working the correct amount of stitches 😊
What colors would you use for a boy for this blanket?
Can you use variegated yarn for this pattern? Love your channel!
Thank you! 😊 Yes, you can use solid or variegated yarn for this pattern.

Hi Sara, is the pattern still available? I clicked on the link for the PDF Pattern and it says "Sorry, this shop is currently unavailable" TIA X
How many skeins do I need of each color?
I have just finished my version for this blanket, it's not as neat, but I'm proud. I don´t know how to share a photo here
That's brilliant well done 👏👏 🙂

Beautiful
could you make this blanket without the bobble?
The website is down :-( Does anyone know the brand of crochet hook used in this video? TIA
I love, love, love this blanket but for the life of me I can’t get it to come out with the correct number of stitches when working the bobble stitch row. I think this will be prefix
Is the PDF pattern a paid pattern, sorry for asking, I want to download it x
Do you have a left handed video for this. And can I use 4 colours only.
I don't have a left handed video for this tutorial. You can use whatever colours you choose :)

Mam what do you do with the sample piece
Hi hope you can help me am so stressed not sure what am doing wrong I got caron simply soft yarn and iv tryed and tryed to crochet striped blanket every time iv done 6 rows its seems longer than it should can you tell me why plz

I have paid for this pattern but I have get to received and I’m not sure where to find it ?..
Hi Veronica I can see where you have purchased the pattern, you need to log onto your bellacococrochet account, click on where its says 'my account' across the top of the page. You will see a menu on the left hand side - click on downloads and your pattern will be here :)
Why do the bobbles look different every even row they are on the wrong side and look wrong to me or is it me doing something wrong 🤔
Does anyone know how big is the finished blanket?
Joan Crawford PDF pattern says 24" x 29"
Struggled with the granny row my edges seem to bow out on this row
How do I know which colours to use after the first round ?
It gives you instructions in the video and you can also find all the information that you require on my blog at bellacococrochet.com :)
I have purchased the PDF pattern however I'm struggling to retrieve the paid for pattern, paid for via PayPal.

Hi Diane thank you for pointing this out this has now been amended, however for your convenience here is the link - bellacococrochet.com/products/bobble-stripe-blanket-pattern :)
Beautiful! Do you offer a "kit" of these colors to make this blanket??
If you were doing a baby blanket for a boy what stylecraft special do colors would you use?? I need to do this beautiful Afghan for a baby boy!!
How big is the blanket?
Sarah Jane, please can you help with the query?
could it work with two colours do you think?
Katrina Tinkler a
Yes It will work with 2 colors.
The stitch count doesn’t work if you do any more than 24 because in between each bobble you have 8 stitches once you have a bigger starting chain. EG I chained 120 which is a multiple of 24.
