So to clarify, I'm on row 12. Which is technically the right side. And row 12 is a bobble row, but under special stitches and after the instruction of the how to do the bobble stitch, it says 'these are worked on the wrong side'. So im just super confused as to whether I continue to try and finish the row popping the bobbles towards me or if im missing something? Kind regards x

@@chelseahill4545 I looked at the pattern, Row 12 is not the bobble stitch. It's a single crochet row. I think you are missing a row.

If you are having trouble counting your stitches then please try using stitch markers they will become your best friend lol or if you don't have stitch markers, you can always a bit of yarn just tie it through and do a knot but not to tight that you can't get it undone again. ☺

I really like this pattern and am making it a larger size for my 6yo great-granddaughter. I am so glad for Mikey's video because at 74, it's sometimes hard for me to understand patterns even though that's how I learned when I was 17.

In order to know how many chains I needed, I did the sample as you did through the first row of Dc. Then I measured from center valley to center valley. That gave me the width for the 28 stitches. I knew then how many I needed to chain. I do this each time I do a chevron or wave blanket. It sure saves a lot of time!

This was one of the most fun patterns I've ever worked; with Mikey's tutorial it was easy to make and had multiple stitch rows which added variety and texture. I love this pattern, it was exactly what I needed to lift my mood. I used very bright colors, it will be my Spring "napping" throw. Thank you Mikey, you are a fantastic teacher.

I have found the confusion in this pattern. It is the single crochet row after the bobble row. Don't trust the written pattern. And the verbal description doesn't clear up the problem either. Watch what Mikey actually DOES in this row when going downhill initially. Two sc in first stitch. SC in next 5. But when doing the sc3tog, he uses the same stitch as the 5th of the last 5 sc. Watch closely and do as he does and the pattern will work out.

A huge thank you to Jeanne and Mikey for this pattern and tutorial. It’s become my go to pattern for baby blankets. I just love the texture. While I’ve done the star, rectangle, and square version, I always come back to this chevron. I love how it hides the color changes in the cake yarns do to the up and down v motion.
Now I’m starting on an enlarged version for my Aunt. I just can’t get enough of the hugs and kisses blankets you guys had. While I didn’t struggle with pattern reading, I came here for some tips. Mikey you did a great job on explaining this to everyone. You made it simple so anyone can follow along and accomplish this beautiful stitch.
I can’t wait to show off my finished blanket in the groups.

I just finished my first blanket of this pattern for a friend’s soon to be newborn & it turned out beautifully! I used Bernat Softee Baby with a 4mm hook & it worked perfectly. I’ve started another for someone else using the same yarn but a different color. I like the verigated colors in the original pattern but a monochromatic look is my favorite. This one will be pure white. Don’t give up on this pattern if you’re struggling - it’s worth it!

Thanking you a million times still seems not enough. Reason being that you are a fantastic, competent, logical, practical, organised and user friendly teacher. I’m learning soooooo much from you in ways you would not expect. In this project in the bobble row I was not getting it, until your explanation saying “mirror image” was used. Ahhhh the penny dropped and waaalaa I got it.
I have been doing your tutorial for the past year off and on and you have given me the confidence to tackle this pattern. I am learning to read patterns and symbols due to you showing and explaining them at the start of your lessons. Oh the other info you give that is so helpful ( that’s not done a lot ) is give the numbers for bigger/ littler options......... I tend to do lots of dishcloths or potholder to get the hang of a type of stitch.

So I was done and something had to change, I used stitch markers in the valley! What a difference a stitch marker can make. Pattern moving along much faster now. Thanks for the advice! Kayla....making same blanket. Im stuck. I read that you should count your stitches, same for every row.
158, comes down to 155, or 154. The sc row after bobble row is not correct. My valleys are not aligned correctly. I'm missing something. Any suggestions?

Beautiful! I love watching your videos, they're always so easy to follow along. I started this blanket and it's working up nicely. I did have a little trouble getting my count correct, on the single crochet row, after the bobble stitch row.

The crisscross shows up better on one side than the other. So u might have to turn the bubbles around when u are finished with blanket. I am a left hander. So watch for it.

the instruction is great! easy to follow! I think the count may be off. I can not even get through the first row. I have been crocheting for over 20 years. (chaining 158)Get to the last few stitches and I will have 11 stitches left more then the 9. I ripped everything out and count the chains multiple times and it always comes to 158 then I restart the double crochets and still end with to many stitches and unable to finish the row. Please help

It sounds like your count is off or you're missing stitches. You should only have 6st left at the end, not 11 or 9. It starts dbl on the 4ch from the hook, 5dbl, then repeats a patter of (3tog, 12dbl) (3dbl in one chain, 12dbl). It should end with a 3tog and you'll have 6 chains left. If this sounds like what you've been doing, only thing I can think is you accidentally put a st in the wrong chain.

Hi Mikey. I so much appreciate all of your videos. They are extremely helpful and easy to understand. You are my go-to person. Could you please clarify something for me? On row 6 (the sc row after the bobble) at 27:14, when doing the sc3tog, your first stitch of the sc3tog is in the same stitch as the previous 5th sc. Is this correct?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  2 года назад

Yes, I believe that is right. There is a diagram provided in the video description and that may help you as well.
