I just wanted to say that I'm SO THANKFUL for you and your videos! I randomly woke up last week and decided I wanted to learn to crochet. I went and bought some hooks and yarn and didn't know where to start. I came on youtube to see if I can learn the basics and I found your channel! I've learned how to hold my yarn and hook, slip knot, chain, and a few stitches. I'm also learning the crochet lingo! I'm so exited. ALL THANKS TO YOU! I have begun this granny stripe and I'm about 20 rows in just as a sample and It's looking great! I'm getting more consistent with my stitches! Next I shall make a blanket!

i totally agree with you about ending the colors with a tie. My daughter loved her blanket so much it got washed all the time and fell apart. now with your method, it can be washed over and over again without fretting about it coming apart!!! Lovely video!!! Thanks for sharing. So clear and I love where you have the words pause in your video to make it easier for those that need to pause and wait for the next instructions!!! Thanks!!!!

i never properly learned how to crochet, and reading a pattern was like trying to decipher a foreign language. I tried to follow along to some other videos and just could not get the hang of things. Your instructions are very simplistic and give lots of time. I thank you for teaching me what i thought i could not do. I only use your videos now when i want to learn a new pattern....again, thank you...sincerely A Canadian Beginner

I just want to thank you for your great tutorial. I am a knitter but for many years I have wanted to crochet a rug, every time I have tried to learn how to crochet I have given up in despair. This time I was determined to succeed and your tutorial made it possible it was wonderfully clear, I did have to stop many time and go back. But I have now mastered the basic triple crochet, and i think because of my knitting experience my tension has been pretty good from the start. I am up to my 10th colour, I wish I could show you a pic, but putting a pic up here is beyond my computer ability.

I ended up chaining one in between each cluster of treble/double crochets. I found that this made a much neater gap between them and it made the next row come out a bit neater. It may also have to do with the type of yarn I'm using. It was a medium weight (4) with a 6mm hook.
This tutorial was fantastic, thank you and congratulations on the engagement!

Thank you for this video. I love doing the Granny pattern. I love making squares and sewing them together. I always thought it would be great to make a Granny pattern working back and forth. I love this pattern. I have also done the rectangle Granny and it turned out gorgeous. I made myself a poncho and two shawls in the Granny pattern. Again thank you. God Bless.

I made my friend a first responders blanket with this pattern. Six rows of black and then three rows of camo for the military, more black then three blue, more black then gold for dispatchers and then black with three red row for fire, more black and then finally white for EMS. I think it turned out cool!

Love ur videos! I like the more secure way that u changed colors and tied it off. I’m going to try that way cuz I’m always afraid that my joins may come apart. We put some many hours into some projects that it would be awful if it came apart esp on gifted items.Thank u for sharing!
