Tim Curry is such a fantastic entertainer, I feel very sure that he did not get the full recognition his talent deserves.
true
ABSOLUTELY....ANYWAY WE KNOW WHAT LEGEND IS!!!❤❤❤
man I could fall in love with you and I do
I guarantee the answer to this, long story made short - I predict he made the wrong set of panties drop one day and there were professional consequences lol, like the wrong executive's wife or daughter, or mother who knows
Why do I have an obsession with Tim Curry? He's old enough to be my grandfather.
+1
He's just so funny and cool. I'm in the same boat.
I was like 4 when the Rocky Horror came out, but still love the guy.
Me too!
I'm obsessed with him 😍
I love him, and I love his talent. He's amazing!
he is just that charming and seductive?
I love him to death too....and I'm looking forward to get a chance to meet him in person at the Chiller Theater on Saturday 10/29/16.
it hurts me to know that not everyone has heard this song
Emily Facchin a lot of people don't even know he had a singing career besides the Rocky horror show
Emily Facchin I heard this song in 1980 on a video show called Video Music Hall. It came on at 5:00 pm on Showtime.
The show Video Music Hall was a precursor to MTV.
Joe Gervasi I saw him in concert. Sooooo hot
There’s a few generations of new people and music which sickens me
@@brendaadams1361 Lucky! I'm only fifteen, and he's already 72...
He flirts merciless with all of us…takes no prisoners. Love you Mr. Curry. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm old.
Saw him do this live.
So lucky! I'd kill to be that 'old'.
annamari tarvainen me too 😥
luz puebla lara me three!
I wish I could have seen this live
LUCKY!!!
He can roar like no other.
Yes that roar!
he knows how to make love to the camera every look he gives is perfect
Elin Lloyd He did that a lot in "Rocky Horror" too. He just oozes sex appeal.
Vic Morrow Forever In My Heart i know it blows me away on how good he is xx
No one else can look at or into the camera the way Curry can. No one.
Shotz Brewery yeah the sexy sneering looks and eyebrow work are hottt

Words can't describe how much I adore this man, for everything he does. Sad to see him wheelchair bound after his stroke, but thankfully he hasn't lost his charm and charisma
Yeah, it broke my heart when I learned he had had a stroke and was wheelchair bound.
@@kaymuldoon3575same here. He can’t sing anymore. But he’s still positive about life.
Amen. 🙌
I wore this Album out in High School...….!!!! Tim Curry was......and STILL IS.....the coolest Dude in ANY ROOM he enters...….!!!!
Happy Birrhday Tim 🎂, I have spent 42 years with Tim and Rocky Horror 3 times a week to this very day and I have Loved every second of it. He has brightened up my life with joy and love. I wish you all the best Tim and you mean the world to me. Dont dream it be it!!!
Contains one of my favorite couplets of all time:
Carter, Begin and Sadat, Breschnev, Teng and Castro
Every day negotiate us closer to disastro...
'I could never whack a ball' refers to the line before: 'I've Always Liked Di Maggio' ... 'And Rockne's pretty Knute you know' ... 'I could never whack a ball with such velocity...'
I promise you these are the lyrics. I have the original album inserts complete with lyrics sheet.
Me too! And I have my vinyl copy of his album "Read My Lips" as well.
Tim Curry was good friends with Freddie Mercury. It would have been fun to watch them perform something together, this in particular.
Today was the first day I ever saw or heard this. I'm ashamed as a huge Tim Curry fan. I do the ROOOOOOCK. I love this man so much.
I would have loved to be Tim's friend back in the day....
David Bowie made me question my sexuality. Tim Curry answered it
Happy 70th birthday, Tim. I love you !
April, I second that!
Tim Curry is one of the bravest human beings I’ve ever seen… He never holds back, he owns every role he’s ever played… Every note he’s ever saying… I mean for god sake’s, this dude was dressed in a garter… And was still the alpha of every scene he was in. Mr. Curry, I love you, thank you for the inspiration, and the experience of you being you.
My mom used to sing this tune around the house all the time...i grew up with this fellow's art and belive me...it never dissapointed me...amazingly talented individual.
🙂
Peaked at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October of 1979, Tim’s only ever “hit” single. Great little song, should’ve been a MUCH bigger hit here in the States and all around the world! From his A&M Records album, Fearless. Great stuff.
Too many people hang "Rocky Horror" on Tim. He did a wonderful job in Red October, he made the mini series "It" what it was. "Kiss me fat boy"! His spot on the TV series Criminal Minds 30 years after Rocky Horror...truly highlighted his acting abilities.
FishHeadSalad I love Tim Curry *because* of Rocky Horror, though. I'm always happy to see him in anything, and his post RHPS work is great, he's a great actor!
FishHeadSalad Don't forget earth II, it was only a few episodes, but you could tell he was having fun with the character.
FishHeadSalad And who could forget Clue?!
This came off an EXCELLENT album from Tim back in the day. The dude had some serious chops and so playful with his performances. Love you Tim!
I could never whack a ball with such velocity!
He's so cute omg. I literally have an obsession with him. He was so attractive in Schmoedipus and Rocky Horror! 😍😍
Tim Curry kicking ass.
I have loved this man for over 40 yrs...
Me too!
Me three! I had the biggest crush on him back around 1980…
Just discovered a massive RUclips gold nugget. I am now an emotional millionaire.
I'm in love again lol Man I love Tim Curry. He is the whole package of awesomeness. Killer singer, dancer, actor. Yes all that and a bag of chips.
No one could ever remake this song. Besides the fact most of the people he is singing about are dead, today's generation wouldn't know any of the people he is talking about. I love Tim!!!
Google literally exists lmao
I remember hearing that in later years, Tim performed this with updated lyrics to keep it relevant.
Omg that's actually so sad
Tim Curry is an amazing man. He is a witty man, a terrific actor and is comfortable in front of an audience. And that smile of his is the greatest!
@@on-mg3be and yet you had the urge to click on, how terrific! Nothing uncultured about him. Nobody has a right to judge except God, and you're obviously not Him, so I suggest you piss off!
I have a feeling that a lot of the younger crowd watching this video probably didn't get 2/3 (ok maybe that's extreme say 1/2) of the cultural references. So for those of you who don't, let me tell you the song is quite clever.
Women keep talking about how gorgeous he is. They ignore the amazing voice. Jaw dropping.
No, we just know how to multitask
Trust me, when we say a guy's gorgeous, we don't just mean looks. Don't project.
Lol he is gorgeous! Plus wow can he sing! He can act incredibly too:) He is perfect all around :)
@@keridwenx6457 😉
@@keridwenx6457 I love ya. haha. yes we can !😄
After a day of terror and ruin children’s dreams, IT loves to rock out in celebration.
David Sanborn wailing on the sax ladies and gents.
Sadly passed away a couple of days ago now :(
words cannot describe how much i love this man
how did I end up here... Tim Curry is a legend though
I found the "Fearless" LP today at a record store. Best album no one knows about!
Where has this been all my life?
Didn't think I'd be watching a video of Tim Curry grooving while naming off dictators. But here I am.
And I kinda love it.
This man's voice isn't even trying hard here...he had incredible range...
Oh my gosh this song brings back so many memories. I LOVE TIM CURRY! Started when I was 15 with the classic RHPS and everything else I could see him in up to present in my golden years (I'm 50, lol). Stephen King's 'IT' tv mini-series with Tim as Pennywise the Clown- the man is pure genius. Tim Curry has an uncanny ability to make absolute love to the camera. The viewer can feel him viscerally! Tim we all love you sooo much. May God Bless you and Keep you for all of the pleasure you've given your fans for 40+ years. xoxoxoxoxo
Amen!
Don't forget "Times Square"...a small part. But nosuch thing for Tim....
Did you see "TimesSquare?"
Used to watch RHPS at Graceland in Columbus, Ohio and they played this before the movie 😍I think I have secretly crushed on Tim and all his characters 🤔😜except the creep from the Law & Order episode 🫣but he gives Christopher Lee a run for his money for the sexist “bad guy” ever ❣️
It wasn't even it for me. It was Darkness in Legend. Watched it everyday as a kid.
He has bedroom eyes. Even now.
agreed
Laura Ross what does it mean?
That 'come hither' look that says, "Let us retire to my boudoir..."
Fantastic actor, fantastic voice. This reminds me a bit of Roxy Music actually.
Yes, I can also hear a hint of Kevin Ayers.
Before people obtained thin skin. Before when music was fun. Before mediocre talent, there was Tim Curry and let us not forget Rocky Horror
Tim was /is such a true talent. If I were lucky enough for Mr. Curry to read this I would say "Read all the loving comments below. Then add mine to it.
Thank you Tim."
This song is of such a time....M - Pop Muzik, The Police's first album, Elvis Costello....B-52's - 1978-79-80
What a great time
Troy Owens Amen. Don't forget Gary Numan, The Boomtown Rats, Joe Jackson, Nick Lowe, The Knack, XTC ...great times indeed.
G. Numan... Cars - one of my all-time faves, The Rats with I don't like Mondays, J. Jackson before he went jazzy, Nick Lowe/Dave Edmunds/Rockpile!! U2 were young, Joan Jett, The Clash....the music scene was just brusting with greatness. I look at it today and it's just so lame. Granted, I'm also not 18-19-20 years old anymore but still....freaking lame!!
Having lived it? It really was a great time musically
Tim Curry - damn you are awesome man! Love love love you!
There was definitely something special about this man.... everything he did, whether you liked it or not....
something memorable was always present.....❤
Oh and my mom got the chance to meet him when he came to the Orange County Performing Arts Center of Costa Mesa now known as the Segerstrom Center for The Arts as she has worked there for over 30 years 😀.
When I first heard Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" back in the 80s, It reminded me of this song somehow....
I doubt either one was the first to write a song listing historical events, but yeah, Billy Joel might well have taken inspiration from this song.
I love his killer smile. I was lucky enough to see him live in Toronto doing this song, the whole album as a matter of fact.
Forgot how fab this tune is!! TC just oozes talent and charisma, even in his later-day acting rolls.
Such a fantastic singer and entertainer.
My dad grew up in a Mormon house and dabbled in rock himself. When I rebelled as a teen, I found his copy of Rocky. I was a fan since then.
My husband and I love his episode on psych. We just watched Clue last week.
He's a legend forever
Im in a time vortex, and im not sure i want to leave.
That look when he opens his eyes wider oh myyyyy
Tim would have made a perfect rock star. He had the talent and the perfect look for it.
I still have this album in my collection, purchased in 1979.
He is the best all around performer to ever be birthed into this world.
Sir Tim Curry! one of my favorite actors\singers, mad genius
Amazing how this song Tim did all those years ago- nothing has changed only names and faces but the same issues , so still the rock I do.
I've loved this song ever since I heard a radio DJ I used to sub for sometimes play it. I know Tim has had a multifaceted career. But I still wish he singing career would have been more successful. Despite what some may think, he knows how to rock.
They all look like they had SO much fun making this music video.
They must have done some rock.
wow what memories of seeing him performing this live. also saw him at the roxy singing sloe gin. i waited in line with a few other die hards for 12 hours to get up front. he was god to us
@CyndyMosher: WoW! That must have been something!!!! Omg, I would have passed out at him doing that song LIVE!!!😍Actually, I would have probably been detained by security!!!😉 LoL Guess I’ll never know for sure! 😫
@@farrahlynne7121 i could have touched his package, i was so close but i behaved myself and only touched his shoe. Me and a few other women got to go backstage and i got his autograph.
He had a towel around his neck. Still the best weekend of my life! Such a shame how he is today. He really got gypped.
UGH THIS MAN! He's so freaking gorgeous and so freaking talented! Oh my gosh I love him! I always fangirl when he says John Travolta
This song never gets old.
This song just came to mind after many years of playing it on AM Radio. Gotta bring it back on my show...
*****
Kinda sorta looks like Mr. Mick for starters!
Smashing
One of my All time Favourite LP's, not a bad track on it... " Very Stimulating !"
Tim is the best! I love him !!!! I am stimulated!!!!!!!!!!
Tim Curry will live forever because he does the rock!!!!
OK, after he does that part in the song about sports, he pantomimes throwing a ball and the guitarist "catches" it. This is why this stuff was fun.
He’s adorable, but I love him because of his talent.
He does what he enjoys and we feel his joy!!!!!
why isn’t this man constantly referred to as a legend in the performing arts and just as a person, feels like such a huge injustice to the world that his amazing talents are still somewhat in the shadows.
This is a mega hard song to pull off,
....It's stimulating.
oh my god, i saw this at a rocky horror film showing (of course the audience was shouting out responses to every friggin line in the movie) but it was AWESOME!!! rice was thrown, water launched. Strange, no... VERY strange scenes were played. i questioned life, but i went along with this awesomely cool tune and the strange movie
The most brilliant rock song. Freaking awesome for eternity. Always.
The fact he says my first name in this got me feeling some kinda way, damn
@MissFarahx: OMG, Me Too Girl! I actually hit the 15 sec rewind button a few times to hear it over just bc of the way it sounds when he says it! Lmao....So Sexy!!!!
Farrah Fawcett is my namesake, I like how he does the hair flip when he says it, so funny it’s cute. Tim Curry just has it all, the looks, the charm, the talent, the seductiveness, crazy humor & OMG His Voice!!! Especially w his accent! He had the attitude and style, definitely the talent and the voice, he had Rock Star ability, I wish he was better known for his music! My first celebrity crush and here I am three decades later, STILL CRUSHING!💕🥵
And I don’t give a damn about age!!! lol
The GOAT ! The giant ! The most talented❤
MrsLaGuardiax--thank YOU for putting this up! I had it on a '45' when I was fifteen years old and the needle stopped going into the grooves! (35 years later i'm annoying my boyfriend cause I play it so much) My cat will only let me groom her if I'm singing and this is one of her favorites. Tim Curry is a classic and a class act--then and now.
Lot of talent is Tim Currey. I remember my dad playing this a lot back in '79. So cool to see an actual video.
love his smile :)
God he was a gorgeous man back then! OMG! I forgot how deliciously gorgeous indeed!
(Side note:. the band QUEEN was emerging as rock icons during the period this video was made, in the "halcion days" of "RHPS".....and ( I find it very noteworthy that Tim Currys exotic, full of energy, performances remind me so of Freddy Mercury's own looks , and performance energy of this time period) .......They both were simply gorgeous and had a way of drawing you in, and engaging the audience on many levels! I doubt Freddie will ever be really forgotten. And if Tim Curry is ever forgotten, .....it won't be ANY TIME SOON.........=)-
《Crazy》 NURSE Kathy deliousous? agreed lol
i see he just won a lifetime achievement award at the tony;s ,,,nice !
I always think of the similarities of Freddie and Tim when i see Tim performing. 😍 Especially the 70's were great for Queen (especially because of Roger's falsettos in their songs which i actually rlly miss in their later projects 😂) and it is just so nice to know that a lot of people see what they both gad in common
Große Herrscherin I would like to be that young again at times, not often, and for very few reasons....Freddie, Queen and Tim, all good reason! :)
I suspect he didn't have Freddie's vocal range - no one ever came close (except Elvis), but yeah, there is definitely that similarity, as well as Bowie sans makeup, and some of Mick's moves. I wish we got to hear more of Tim's range in this one...
I wish this song got more radio airplay.
Thank you for finally putting up a high quality video of the magnificent Tim in all his splendor.
Ugh, I love this man to much.
This video is played before RHPS in every *good* cinema. It's the only choice as the audience is settling in for the show.
I want to go to wherever theatre you're going to because that would be so awesome
Better version here ruclips.net/video/E1gzt4yU0T4/видео.html and he talks about how its played before RHPS
This man is just too perfect I love him so much !! He's perfect and such a handsome devil I love him all the world and all my heart always loved him and always will xx😘😘❤️😊
Look into his eyes and he's got you dreaming
👁👁✨✨
Love that long curly hair he had in this video
He can rock that long hair perfectly as was the style back then.
So damn catchy!
This man oozes SEXUALITY in the GROOVIEST WAY!!!! He also speaks French...where is his clone....DAMN IT!!!!!
holy crap this was one of the first videos on MTV 1980 one or two....bring me back
This man is just......there are no words, I mean....none.......wish I had been born earlier so I could have seen him on stage in person........this is such a fun song.......as I sit here shaking my hips.....lol
I hope that Tim Curry knows in July 2024 how much he still means and how much is adored and revered, as is only the least he deseves. Thank you for all your talent, humour, knowledge, wisdom, and FUN. You are FIRE!
Those other band members were so loyal and trustworthy with Tim!😃
2:30 so cute his Lil hair shake 🥺
A flat out sultry male of the species💥🔥☄☄☄☄☄☄☄☄☄
I sure hope he gets to doing better after his stroke.
