  • So, I figured I would make a post to potentially help someone who might be having issues with a swap they are doing as the result of bad wiring. I have seen and have had friends who have purchased the cheap eBay ls engine harnesses. At less than 300 it is hard to pass up for some. After installing these in vehicles I have found 2 major issues that need to be addressed in order for them to function correctly. Specifically, the LS1 T56 nonelectric auto harness. First issue is the tach output signal wire is shorted/ connected to 12v power from the fuse box. This will cause tach not to work along with possibly damaging your tachometer. Second issue is the map sensor signal wire is also shorted/ connected to 12v power from the fuse block. This instantly destroys the map sensor and defaults the pcm to barometric pressure 100% of the time. This one will cause the engine to stay in one section of the ve and timing table resulting in a very poor running condition if run at all. I have no idea if this information is out there somewhere or not. Just what I have experienced myself. Figured I would share in hopes that someone who is not familiar with wiring can get their project running after purchasing one of these cheap harnesses.

    Thanks man I have a harness I bought years ago I haven't installed it because I had to put a stop to my build for health issues now yrs later I am back at it I got lucky on my harness it was just the tach wires crossed everything else checked out good I remember running into your video and others about checking these 2 wires thanks again man I'm sure you saved me a head ache finally about to get my car running thanks

    Wow, more issues for China. Cost is king.. If you have time to fix this you couldn't one just modify your old one.

    Thank you so much for making this video. I bought one of these wuhan wire bois and already had to change a few little things. I'm glad I learned of the MAP signal wire issue as well as the tach issue. Thank you again!!!

      what other things you had to change?? I have on and i am fixing these issuse listed in the video and grounds. I notice the grounds need to be beef up.. What other issuse are you correcting...? I prefer this route versus reworking a stock.. I tried that and it is a nightmare...lol

    hello,thamks for ypur video,i've got a question:the mass cable of my corsa 1.4,year 2000,is 11.21v instead of 12.30v,i think it's a crap wire or tosted,whot do you think about it?thanks,mauro

    I guess I know what I’m doing this weekend. Lol. Mine starts up but I’m getting cel light for both upstream o2 censors not having any activity active and it’ll idle kind of high and when I give it gas it kind of revs up but then drops down a lot like it’s out of gas. I worked my old harness about a year ago and had no problems, I just didn’t like how bad it was clustering up my engine bay. Went with a chinnnna harness…

    I have a similar engine ls3, I did the electrics as you have in the video. We programmed the computer and turned off the "vats system". Unfortunately, the engine did not start. High voltage comes to the spark plugs, but no impulse comes to the injectors. Maybe you can advise me what could be the reason. Diagnostics shows me the error P0315. The sensor is working. Thank you very much in advance

      Ls3 won't work with this harness. It's a gen 4. The crankshaft position sensor is different, along with the reluctor wheel on the crankshaft. Also requires e38 pcm not P01

    Are you saying to replace the map sensor that on the intake or the map sensor plug in

      Before you replace the sensor repair the wiring

    Hey i know this is a dumb thing to ask but i reworked my stock harness and i pulled my o2 sensor from the up stream sensors (dont know if its bank 1 or 2) would you know how to hook them back up

    So ive bought one of these harnesses and i did the 4l80e repin on the trans plug and ecm connector and now my truck struggles to go into gears and when it finally goes into gear, my truck shifts hard and there is no 4th gear. The transmission was tested before performing my swap and its all good, shifted smoothly. Have any idea what it could be? Will be much appreciated if you could get to my comment

      Make sure the main plug on trans is not flipped. You can plug it in upside-down... ask me how I know lol

      @@matafied i checked it and its plugged in correctly, have any other ideas? I think i might just have to peel back the harness and see if theres anything wrong

    I have a problem with my wiring harness killing the battery overnight could anyone tell me why is that happening 12 volts at all times

      The reverse lockout seems to be the most common problem. It's on a 12v b+ in these harnesses

    Does anyone have any advice for someone using a China harness with the 4l60e trans? I'm sure i have a problem somewhere in my harness. Vehicle starts, fires for a second then dies. On my second PCM now and yes VATS is deleted. Any info???

      Make sure injector data is correct. If it has ev6 injector plugs. It has 36lb injectors. The majority of the ls truck engines come with 24lb Injectors. So it can cause it to start then cut right back off

      @@matafied thanks for the response. So it's a truck engine, truck PCM and i have the convertor plugs from ev6 to the truck injectors. Does the wiring change between the 2?

      @@jamesnebel6211 so the wiring harness has ev6 and you have adapters to convert to truck? Also is the truck pcm the original one to the engine?

      @@matafied that's correct i have the adapters, and no it was purchased online with everything deleted for the swap. When i put my scanner on it, it comes up as a 2000 GMC Sierra

      @@jamesnebel6211 so assuming the tune up is correct. 1. Check fuel pressure make sure it's good. 2. Hook up scanner and see what the map sensor is reading. 3 . See what coolant temp and intake air temp is displaying
