For those who are watching this 10 years+ later and don't understand: Microsoft announced prior to the release of the console that Xbox One games could not be easily shared with friends and family. There were a series of rules required to share games, such as having the person in your friend list for 30 days and each game could only be shared once. Also, internet connection was required at all times, even for single player games. The PlayStation, on the other hand, had no restrictions on gaming sharing and released this video mocking Microsoft's decision. After all the backslash, Microsoft backed out but we will remain with this masterpiece video for a really long time
How often do people even share physical copies of games? Sharing a game digitally with a friend would have been way better and would have saved a lot of us money. Not to mention this generation was the rise in digital purchases anyways. Internet was not required at all times, it was required to connect to the internet once per day. After that, you could go offline. But let's be real here. Internet connections are not a problem anymore. If my internet went out for more than a day, I could use my phone wifi for 5 seconds easily. The amount of people that would have been impacted by that is negligible.

Within that context they released this video. After all of this, the pre-order ratio PS4 vs Xbox One was 2:1. This didn't change in these seven years. And thus, Sony won the 8th Generation of consoles.
They honestly never really recovered. Ps4 proceeded to dominate until the Switch showed up, and the Xbox has never really found a strong footing since. They're far from failing, but they've never achieved the dominance they had during the 360 era

And Sony is allowing Horizon to be released on PC to give the PC master race a little taste to encourage them to buy a Ps5, meanwhile all xbox exclusives are already on PC.

Adrian Brood Sorry, I prefer not to play games that are A) capped at a low framerate, B) have enormously worse graphics than PC, and C) that you can't even mod. The idea of that sounds quite stupid to me.
And touching up on exclusives, PC has an equal amount if not LARGER number of exclusives. Oh yeah, and our games don't have to go through some big corporation (Sony/Microsoft) to be playable.

I remember watching E3 back in 2013. Microsoft suddenly revealing how greedy and evil they really were and then Sony capitalizing on it in the same conference was beautiful
