  • Recently bought a used Bullworker. Is it as good as I remember or a complete waste of time?
    N.B. Since making the video, the prices of Bullworkers have come down quite considerably. Probably due to the relaxation of lockdowns.

    When i was 12, i had a Canadian accent and my parents moved us all back to the UK. We settled in Thornton, Liverpool. My Granddad must have hated me because he gave me a Manu George Best football strip to ware. The kids in Liverpool went mad and tried to literally rip it off me. I had to fight like hell to get away from them. I never wore that strip again, and still had so many fights. In the end my dad bought me a bull worker. Green handles with a red thick slider. I used it correctly and to the letter. Within 6 weeks i was noticeably transformed. Bigger chest, bigger shoulders and bigger arms. I used it for about 6 months. I was never picked on again, so i stopped using it. Years later, picked on again. I have since then used power bands, free weights, multi gym, body weight, but now im nearly 59. I think i will buy another one of these. Its good to be fit and strong. I liked your video, and the Hero of the beach made me laugh.

    Love my Bullworker. I use mine 6 days a week, but only do the Isometric exercises. I do all 26 and it takes me less than 15 minutes. I like the static isomertic exercises because at 57 it's less taxing on my joints. It's funny I have good genetics, but just by doing the Bullworker and walking outside people think I spend hours at the gym.

    I've owned a couple, "Bullworkers" over the years. As a Martial Art enthusiast---'I find the machine VERY helpful! It isn't the ONLY 'Tool
    I employ...but it comes in handy for specific muscle groups.

    I’ll be 62 yo shortly. My parents bought me one in 1975. It’s all I used for decades. Made me, yup, strong as a Bull. I have always own one or two. I hurt my back bad a year ago and hadn’t used my bullworker for probably 10 years. I run a D9 dozer for a living last twenty years. My lower back was so compressed flat out painful. I dug out my bullworker and did the first three exercises for 7 breaths each. After a year of pain. In one week I no longer had pain. I have read all about the inventor of the Bullworker a doctor who knew how to strengthen, straighten and enhance the body. I’m 61 and stronger than most men half my age ! I SWEAR by the Bullworker and it’s clones. I have given many of them to coworkers and friends. I bought all my family members Bullworkers. Get it. Use it as ORIGINALLY intended and you will be invincible. But my trick. Is not doing if for the seconds it calls for. DO IT in number of BREATHS instead. !!!!!!!
    Ps
    I’m happy to counsel anyone wishing to use one properly. That is paramount !

      The exercise calls for 7 seconds or 3 seconds. Do it for 7 breaths or 3 breaths not seconds. It’s the oxygen pumping into the muscles that builds strength and stamina !

    I have the X5, BW 3, Bow Classic , 7x, and Macho Power and all are great items. I like them because they pack about 90 lbs (or more) of resistance into an item less than 3 feet long and only about 4 inches wide and you can compress and pull out. The 7x is cheapest at this point brand new. Instructions can be found everywhere on the inet. Even the older ones on inet shop sites are good as these retain their resistance well. I'm 56 and have used for almost 3 years, but had always wanted one as a kid. Got into weights instead. Only knew 2 kids in my school days who had them and one never seemed to change look, the other looked markedly better but it broke (an X5). Also, I just really enjoy the workouts. You can do anything you want with it isometric or isotonic, just use it regularly.
    Great vid BTW.

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  Год назад +2

      Thanks! You have a good selection of Bullworkers! Do you use them all? There are so many things that could've contributed to the kid not looking any different. Poor nutrition, poor technique, not consistent, not using progressive resistance...the list goes on.

    • @stevev2422
      @stevev2422 Год назад +2

      @@LivingWellTV I do use them all by rotation, a different one for an entire workout. I'm still trying to determine which I like the best before I sell off a few.
      At the time (1982), isometrics was out of vogue and nothing was being written about them and there was no inet. I',m sure he just followed the chart as best a 15 year old could. Nutritionally, no one was on any special diet except the kid who made the progress, but his dad was a cardiologist and he only ate regular and healthy stuff. That being said, folks need to know you can't out-exercise a poor diet.

    Oh the great memories! I must confess, I ordered the "Charles Atlas" course from a comic book ad when I was in grade school. I was disappointed to find out the trophy you won when you completed the course was about 6 inches tall and made of plastic...lol! Thanks for reviewing the "Bullworker". I remember seeing the the 'Bullworker' advertised on late night TV in the mid 1970's when I was a teenager. I ordered one and loved it. I think they were bout $39 US then. Later I found out a guy I went to school with had one. He actually built a pretty decent muscular physique with it! I ended up giving mine away a couple years later. Then in the 1980's I saw a knock off version of the 'Bullworker' at a 'K-Mart store and bought it and used it for a couple of years. Not sure what ever happened to that one. The fact is, these DO work, they weigh practically nothing and take up little space. Good for home and travel. I saw you were doing reps with yours. I don't remember that being how it was to be used. I remember that you were to hold the contraction for 6-7 seconds then release. Either way it works!

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  3 года назад +3

      Did the Charles Atlas workout do anything? Yes the later models allowed you to do rep's. I didn't show it in the video but you hold for 10 seconds then do rep's.

      @@LivingWellTV - I did feel like I got somewhat stronger with the 'Charles Atlas' course, but certainly did not look anything like 'Charles Atlas'...lol! I was just a grade school kid going through a phase. I am sure as an adult one would see some results if they were consistent with the course.

    Your situation is like mine..long shift hours ( I work as an OR nurse) night shifts etc..young kid to look after..house works and usual parents responsibilities..it can be very tiring end of the day..and sometimes I just don't have the time nor energy to exercise..but with the Bullworker, I'm able to do a good workout in minimal time..and it won't hurt my joints too. I simply love my Bullworker

    Hello sir and thank you for your channel. But for what I remember as I’m 55, the purpose of this gear was the isometric contraction for about 7 seconds but not repetitions, although I think It might be interesting to mix the both ways.

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  2 года назад +3

      The early iterations were as you said, isometric only. From the x5 onwards, they started to introduce reps. That way you get some concentric, eccentric and isometric contractions.
