This quick video is taking a look at Power Workers - devices that allow you to curl, fly and tricep-push down anywhere you go. What's more, is that this is a particularly convenient option for isometric training from home. Build crushing strength and power through overcoming and yielding isometrics.
It's not a particularly new tool (in fact it's super old!) but I feel the power worker doesn't get much credit and is worthy of your consideration. Enjoy! - Хобби
What you have here is a cheaper knockoff of a Bullworker. As you know, it is a great tool. You have great knowledge, thank you for sharing!
Bullworker ftw 💪💯
I still have the original Bullworker with the 160lb spring and use it as an addition to my iso workouts... More strength less mass... Great for martial artists who need that little bit extra body conditioning...
Great video as always Adam! Can't wait to see what you have in the works!!
Just watched this video, your videos have come a long way, they look so well-edited and professional now.
I’ve used a Bullworker since the early 1970s …I’m in my 70s now and still use. They give great results and build your strength safely.
I had one of the first green handled bullworkers when they first came out..... in the 60s! I've still got the x5 one, got it for a fiver from a charity shop! I'm 69 now and still use it now n then.... do a bit of weights , cardio etc just to try n keep a bit fit........
Hi Adam,
Isometrics and Lifestyle design / Internet Entrepreneurship are the main reasons why Iv'e chosen to subscribe to your channel (who'd-a-thunk those two topics would be the very subject in one's channel!!!). This is why I find your channel, and perhaps you yourself, so unique!
Anyways, very much look forwards to more isometric videos as stated by you in concluding the vid, and while your at it, more insights into the lifestyle and nomadic entrepreneurship subjects !!!!
Keep up the great work!
Thanks Ana! Really glad you enjoy the content :-) Sounds like we have very similar interests. And yes indeed, I'll be posting a lot more about both those topics as well as fitness, brain training, technology and more!
Thanks for watching!
As everyone is pointing out, this is a knockoff of the Bullworker, but the Bullworker spring is much stiffer. There's no way you could compress a classic Bullworker in front of you the way you do this gadget. The newest Bullworker has changeable springs, I believe, but I don't own one.
thats not true a person can squeeze it but takes awile to do it after long use
The Bullworker has 3 changeable springs.
@@Ulixes83 its 4 with classic
Mine came with 5
Are you guys sure it's not 6?
For exercises like overcoming isometrics we can use two telephone directories and overlap their pages and then you can use some of nuts and bolts to attach rope and use it in exercises
that's incredibly "macgyver"ish. it might work, but where do you get telephone books... let alone 2
I own several Bullworkers. One is with the green handle, one with the brown handles, two ripoff models (Macho Power, which is actually harder to use than the Bullworker), and the latest with the various springs. I have to be careful though. I was performing something similar to a dead lift and actually threw out something in my lower back. I couldn't even walk straight for a week. It is actually good to consult with your doctor before taking on any serious workout.
Oh! My dad used to have one of these when I was a kid, only it was called The Bullworker. It was so fun and useful. I used it where I would push with my legs, while pulling with my arms and got a full body workout real quick. Not sure if that would work for an adult or not.
Lol my Uncle had one! Apparently the older generation likes Bull Workers!
I believe that Bullworker was the original maker of these. The others are just knock offs
I bought an original Bullworker a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The range of exercises is amazing - I've been feeling myscles i never knew i had ! It also enables you to do exercises that would be very difficult with free weights. Best of all, you can change the springs in a few seconds, to get a wide range of resistances.
Outdated get a updated version works way better
the original bullworker you couldn't change springs
@@earplugs55 yes or the x5 either
I like the normal bullworker, changing springs etc, no need really, especially if your mainly doing isometrics .... @@cmoneytheman
There is a different version of this isometric training machine called the Bully Extreme. It has much more tension/resistance and is built very well. When your time schedule is squeezed I find this a great tool for strength training. Thanks for your videos.
The Bully Extreme is a cheap piece of garbage.
I still got a couple bullworker x5's in storage
One way to determine if the gauge on it is accurate or not is to stand it vertically and place a kettlebell on the top handle.
When I set a 20kg. kettlebell on top of mine the gauge reads a hundred lbs. The gauge is not accurate.
hi Adam .Would a total replacement of conventional training with isometrics ala power worker be as effective ??
Gi Karadi hey bud. You won’t want to replace conventional. Instead go ahead and add isometric training to your concentric/eccentric (traditional weightlifting) training to see the best results
Like the other guy said, don’t replace your training with it, just supplement it
I had a Bullworker in 1971.
It came with a colour booklet or chart, demonstrations by Hans Selye.
There were about 20 different exercises, including legs.
Unfortunately, it emphasised isometric, rather than dynamic movements and repetitions.
It didn't make much difference to my physique. 😅
I'm sure that, with my experience now, it would be useful.
Around 3 minutes in you push it in but seem to hold it with your wrists... How come? Or is it just a trick of perspective
got a classic for 100 all springs with iso bow if anybody want
Look up the steel bow it is alot smaller
Cool thanks, I'll look into it :-D
steel bow 20 inch bullworker
Ernest Shoto its useless
Try resistance bands for a piece of equipment that’s easy to take on a trip. They can also be incorporated with isometric training.
they dont compare
@@cmoneytheman isobow !
@@cmoneytheman “ limited on resistance “ ? “ if pushed to hard ,the person can’t use “......... what ? - Do you know what isometrics are ?
It is a very versatile piece of kit - perhaps you did not word that very well ? If you have an isobow? Start with 10 reps on a tension you can achieve , increase your 10 - increase to 11 reps , then 12 , then ramp up the tension and perhaps keep a log of
(1) reps .
(2) estimated tension- 20%, 30% or whatever .
(3) time under tension .
But by no means is it limited ,in fact it’s almost unlimited ( upper body ) - legs ,yes limited there .
@@cmoneytheman are we speaking about the same thing here ? I was commenting on the isobow and not the steel bow !
@@cmoneytheman “ if too much pressure they won’t be able to move it “ Ahahahahahahaha 👋😂😂😂😂
Who is controlling the pressure ?
Perhaps have a look into Isometric exercises, also known as static strength training, are contractions of a particular muscle for an extended period of time. Simply put, an isometric exercise is one that involves muscle engagement without movement. Instead, you pick one position and hold it.
Happy training Arnie 👋👋😂😂
0:16 that look killed me.
I call upon these fibers to summon my maximum strength
Where can I get one of those types of Power Workers.
+louis borselio I got mine on Amazon!
what exactly was it called.
the original bullworker is very hard to compress /chest press/fly, I've read that you need to be able to bench press 400lb to be able to fully compress the bullworker this way! I only ever managed 5" !
Only 5 pounds Earplugs? Are you a weak pathetic puppy or a HEMAN???
Get a updated one way better
He's been super busy with the Nintendo
I had one of these for several years. got it second hand at a yard sale. my ex wife called it a "bull worker". eventually it rusted, but it's a good tool.
Yeah my Uncle calls it a bull worker! Think they've been around a good while! Thanks for watching :-D
How do I make the weight lower. Because it is too hard
you can't with the original Bullworker, but with the multi spring ones you just change the spring for an easier one
@@earplugs55- I own a few. One difference being, the knockoffs are actually harder to use than the regular Bullworker. On the fixed handle the meter lets you go up to 160. The others (Macho Power) lets a person go to 180. I just hate the Bullworker X5. It doesn't have the steel cables but has cloth straps. I don't like that. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw them on eBay with frayed and loosened straps. I don't know what Bullworker was thinking when they made that model with straps rather than steel cables.
funny that, that's the one I've got, got it from a charity shop for a fiver, hahha! actually I like it better than the cables type old style one, the nylon webbing is pretty strong, and feels more comfortable on my hands, I had one of the original ones that I bought in 1968 ! hahha! quickly got bored with it though, that chart just doing holds... went on to weights after that, that is the only time I actually got stronger............ I still keep the x5, but only use it every few months one day a week! hahhahha just for variation really , I only do a bit of weights on Sundays, and do something else on Thursdays........@@stanleybroniszewsky8538
I had a bullworker in the mid 70,s l was about 17 and muscled up in no time. I was young though of course, I'm 61 now so probably couldn't do it again.
I believe you would get results again if you try
Yes you could definitely do it again mate
With God and faith in him you can do anything just repent and seek him he will be Good to you He loves you God Bless you for we will pray for you
@@fastingd8609 Reps for jesus
There have been studies that show that older adults can gain a greater percentage of strength from isometric training than young people can. The hypothesis is that older adults have a higher pain tolerance than younger people have.
Sixty one (64 now) is not old! We all need to stay as strong and muscular as we can. You might live for 40 more years, so start now and have a less painful and stronger old age. Good luck!
That bullworker/power worker is the truth. Throw everything else away.
this is a fake bullworker still works
American call bullworker
