Bought this exact model a few days ago & it is well worth the money spent. This unit blows leaves like wind. I only complaint is that I bought it so late. I swear I wasn't to find something to blow. Lol
I finally just retired my BR600 blower and purchased the new BR800 magnum. The new harness setup is absolutely awesome. What a incredible machine. Thank you.
Nice and very thorough review! I just purchased one today from my local Stihl dealer. I had 2 700's but sold my older one to try out this beast of a blower. Very impressive!
Love this blower, it’s amazing, so much power, wet leaves aren’t an issue at all anymore, it still blows a bigger amount of wet leaves like it’s nothing, it is a little heavier than the past 800, atleast to me, but the power behind this thing is a beautiful thing, haha, but it is a lot comfier than the older ones, and love the side pull cord, after it’s warmed up, you don’t have to take it off anymore to start it, I have long enough arms I never did with the older ones, but it’s definitely nice to have it where it’s at now. This blower is definitely worth the money, you will be very pleased with the power of this thing, makes quick work of blowing my yard
Great video! I have had this blower for just over a year I love it. Use it year round started snow removal last week. Seems a little doggy right now but temperatures have been anywhere from -5 to -15 already.
Just picked one of these up today..did a small test run in the woods..no purpose, just wanted to see the power..amazed with it..i def need a pair of ear muffs though..great review by the way..
Stihl make excellent blowers but always found the straps bit of an issue, almost bought one of these but opted for the Husqvarna 580 bts and don't regret it for a second! Stihl & Husqvarna make the best tools in my opinion and you won't go wrong with either!!
I own the Husqvarna 580bts too. Great blower for sure. The Sthil BR 800X has more blowing force for sure. Like them both, Sthil wins IMO with less weight and the throttle is in line with the tube. I don't like how Husqvarna designed that at all. I think the 580bts model was updated on that. Both are a good choice.
I got one of these. It gets used heavy duty daily commercial use. It's pretty good and reliable. Only issues i've found are that after about 12 months, you might have straps starting to fray and break. And also, when you have to warm start it, it can be difficult to start unless its put on 1/2 choke You also need to 'work' the pull cord to get the piston in the right position. So it will crank and start. Otherwise you can just keep pulling the cord forever and it'll never start Overall I would say its ok. I have also used the Shindaiwa EB770 and would rather shell out a bit extra for that, its much easier to start, more comfortable and more solid for daily commercial use
To all the guys that went from the br600 to this beast, how noticeable was the power difference? I’m currently in the middle of a leaf cleanup in a apartment complex and the 600 struggles to get the leaves from one side of the complex to another and I’m just curious about how noticeable it’ll be once i get a 800
I bought one over the summer. Thing is great! Upgraded from a Kombi blower attachment, the guy that does my dad's lawn let me play with his. I hit my local dealer up on the way home. Lol!
I think I plan on getting the BR800 very soon, even though it is indeed heavy. And getting all the parts that it needs in case it still needs to be in good shape without any issues.
This looks like a fantastic machine but I like that echo has the fanning area to keep your back cool. I wish all blowers could come with that easy pull feature without having to take your back pack blower off every time you have to pause and turn it off.
Thanks for the video. I just ordered my 800 C-E from Ace...get it tomorrow. Smiles. Nice upgrade from my 550. But jeez...blowing in that dust with no mask. You should know better.
Ive got Echo blowers, Stihl weed eater, Stihl and Echo chain saws. I like both brands but the fit and finish on Stihl is better. 77 dba is pretty good. Still plenty of noise to piss people off but quieter than my Echo 8010.
I am a Gardener and blowers always get the most noise complaints. I now carry two blowers.one with the muffler removed,I use it for pissing of the people that complain. This puts a big smile on my face.
I have a 450 electric start and would love the magnum but not sure I can live in without that great feature any more. So good when people cone to talk to me in site or when I just need to stop for pedestrians, I'm willing to forego that additional CFM for the electronic starts but side start intrigues me.. Is there really that much more power in the Magnum or am I best off sticking with the 450?
So the two big differences between these two are blowing for (450=28 Newton : 800=41 Newtons) and CFM (450=642 :800=912) The side start is a really good option and it is a super comfortable machine to wear. The 800 also has a larger fuel tank adding 10 oz. of fuel capacity if that means anything to you. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment just bought the 800 yesterday! I actually was quite disappointed at first until noting the 450 had a slightly smaller chute. I changed the tips over and voila, there it was! I think this is mainly consumer preference. You will hear both brag that they are the best and some will say that one or the other is the worst. I think both companies make quality products.
That is a tough one. I do not have much experience with the commercial lawn trailers, but I have seen setups where there has been basically a cage built with a locking top. The tube seemed to have space to fold towards the trailer and sick out of the side of the cage. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment I ended up Ordering the blower rack set up from Trailer racks. The blower is all that you reviewed; nice operation for a solo lawn service provider.
I own this blower I have 5 acres. It is willing to do whatever you want. As long as you continue to have the gas required. Make no mistake, it's like driving AV8 with the pedal to the floor. 5 acres. I have to fill the gas tank between 8 and 10 times Other than being a gas hog And needing a bigger fuel tank it's a beast it'll geter done
This was a great breakdown if the machine.Your note about the side start is for after the engine is warm was great, no other review mentioned that. Thanks!
its narrow for the larger size , so it doesnt have to be any narrower .. works perfect as is 240mph , if u want to push large dry piles you might want to cut the last few inches off and it will push wider but less mph
I replaced the side start with a regular pull start. I was a first gen adopter and it helped me maybe less than a dozen times. The telescoping tube should have been a feature of the x.
@@WesternEquipment just knowing the environment I was using the blower in (lot sweeping). The petroleum based asphalt was prematurely wearing everything out in the assembly. Surprisingly the 800x recoil as significantly lighter and the plus to me was having a regular starter, not the easy2start system. Eventually for regular lawn car I'll purchase another 800c but at the moment the 800c/x hybrid is perfect for me. Its bulletproof and much quieter for noise ordinance that echos 010 series would be mu h too loud for.
Awesome video you answered all my questions and concerns. I brought one yesterday can't wait to fire it up. Can you Do one on the Stihl FS 240 please ?
i have only had redmax 8500 blowers i went out on a limb and bought one of these.. things i like are the comfort and the more narrowed down blowing, seems to be more pinpoint as well as the engine is much more quiet. The blower has failed to start i cant tell you how many times, the thought of how many more moving parts it has being a "4 stoke" style engine is going to be more on the wallet over time than a normal two stroke, and that stupid little plastic wire harness thing that clips onto the machine for the throttle wiring constantly pops off since day one causing the harness to keep pinching my forearm, i ended up using a large zip tie to prevent it from coming off again.. there has been many times ive just put it back in the trailer and pulled out a 8 year old redmax that hasnt run in a year that always starts and gets the job done. The fuel tank is not big.. the redmax will run for a straight hour on a full tank, my guys always pick on me cause i " cant get the job done" but hey not bad for 650.00.... wont buy another one but its comfy
Well thank you for the feedback. One of the starting issues could be your spark arrestor screen. If it gets plugged this will give you plenty of problems and hurt your fuel consumption. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I know nothing about stihls, (all echo) and am interested in possibly purchasing this. I heard that they make 2 and 4 cycles. Is this a 2 stroke?
The "E" stands for Easy2Start, which is Stihl's easy starting mechanism. I have yet to get information for sure on what exactly the "C" means. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
When you say built in America do you mean assembled in America or is every single piece sourced in America and built. I plan on buying one very soon. Great video !

I'm old school 33 years experience behind me I use REDMAX ebz 8550 hip throttle I found this Stihl backpack on side of road from trailer that it fell off a landscape trailer.
Very good video. I’m an echo fanboy and have not used this blower. I know STIHL makes good products but seems like there is just too much adjustability with this unit. I wouldn’t take my air filter off to flip a switch to run my blower in the winter. Just saying. No tools required to change the air filter on the echo, blows harder, and no valves to adjust.
@@WesternEquipment It starts and runs perfectly fine, idles fine, no clicking or sounds but when you press the off switch, as it’s shutting down you hear like three or four clicks almost sounds like valve sticking... could just be the way the engine is. Mine is brand new that was my first time using it and I’m using Moto mix. At 15:20 yours seems to make same sound, 3 ticks it sounds like
@@michaelholly88 Going back and watching it I definitely hear it. I'm sure that is how they all are. I used that blower a few more times after this demo was done and it has been just fine. Good catch though and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment I appreciate you responding back and the insight. Its been a while since I have used gas equipment, I was using ego battery 0PE, decided to go back to gas because I’m doing a little extra work that warrants the need for longer run time and extended use. Once it warms up a bit I’ll get to use it more, so far very happy though.
That’s the one I’m going to buy. What’s the warranty period on this blower? I noticed that JOHN DEERE dealers and Montgomery Ace Hardware sales Still blowers weed eaters etc and other dealers. Which dealer is best to purchase Still products from for the best sales service parts and maintenance? Liked Subscribed & Shared
The warranty period depends on the usage. So if it is bought as homeowner usage it should have a standard 2-year warranty that can be extended to a 4-year by the purchase of either Stihl MotoMix or the Ultra Oil Mix. If it is commercial use I think it is only a 1-year warranty. On where to buy, in our area for parts and service it is generally better to buy from a John Deere dealership but I'm not sure what kind of parts inventory is kept on hand in your area and if the hardware stores have a technician or not. I would ask the places you are looking at buying from and see if they have a technician on site for service and if they keep parts on hand. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Yes, and what commercial guy would be foolish enough to tell them it's actually for commercial use and waste 3 years of warranty? Sorry, Honest Abe, but not me.
I was gona get one but ended up getting a husqvarna.only because the 3 stihl products I own seem hard to start after running them for a while.why is that my spark arrestor was clogged less then a hr the dealer had no answer why.is it the stihl oil mix people saying it's real dirty oil idk I dont think I'll buy another stihl
That is a good question. Not sure why it would have clogged that fast. I have not heard of the oil mix being dirty. I'm sorry for your bad experience but thanks for watching!

Was never the most powerful the echo 8010 and now 9010 rain Supreme they need to make a br900 asap i love sthil but ive converted over my blowers out of 12 br800 ive kept 3 for my install crews and bought 14 new 9010's back in October they are basically double the strength and use 2/3 more fuel or around 45 mins per tank of gas. I use 93 octane with the opti oil so i can run one fuel across the sthil and echo and really all brands the sthil run cleaner now and seem to rev better than the swamp water ultra i was using but i was also using 87 octane as well.
I find it very hard to start. Pull, let it rewind, pull, pull and pull and pull, sometimes feels like its turning engine over, sometimes not. Doesnt even cough or fart, then suddenly starts. Very unpredictable and takes forever to get going. I came here looking for starting tips,.
Dont try to start it like the guy in this video. He has no idea how to properly use the side pull starter. It's an old video, so hopefully by now he knows how to do it correctly
In the UK it's RRP is £792! That is very expensive. I've spoken to a couple of people who have one & they say it has great power but the build quality is shit! I went for the Husqvarna 580 bts, it's £100 cheaper and I've found it to be excellent! Not knocking Stihl by any means, the Stihl's I have a fantastic, my HS81R'S is a freaking legend!
I have heard a couple of comments about build quality and I'm not sure where that stems from. We have multiple customers that use these blowers for cleanup on their farms and use them often and have no complaints. But Husqvarna makes good equipment so I bet you're in good hands. Thanks for watching!
A husqvarna 570 cost less and out blow the 800 in the real world. husqvarna 570 bts will average 236mph air speed while the 800 averages 199 mph with burst to 239.
improper start pulling the cord, not in line with stihl recommendation. Also, no safety goggles or hearing protection. Overall very bad representation of how to use a blower safely.

Its been a while since I have used gas equipment, I was using ego battery 0PE, decided to go back to gas because I’m doing a little extra work that warrants the need for longer run time and extended use. Once it warms up a bit I’ll get to use it more, so far very happy though.
I just picked mine up today
The waist strap is great !
It makes it so much more comfortable for long periods of use.
Where can I find this beast?
There are hundreds of Stihl dealers around the country but if you are close enough to us then we can get you fixed up. Check out our locations here west-equip.com/locations and thanks for watching!
Bought this machine last year and it stalls out and won't restart till it cools off. We have several Stihl products and the newer models have issues.
Hmmm this is odd. Have you checked the exhaust screen on the muffler? Also may check to make sure that your fuel isn't mixed to thin or too rich.
Check this video, he had the same issue. Something not clipped properly! ruclips.net/video/JJsZC1NILAk/видео.html
Just bought. Holy fark…..it’s a god damn weapon!
Sounds like you are enjoying it haha! Thanks for watching!
BR 800 C magnum It's 100% Heavy spec. Powerful enough to blow anything. Down side its bulky & Heavy as hell, pushing 30 pounds w. Full load of fuel.
All of these things are true. It is definitely a bear but will get the job done!
Where can I add engine oil?
You do not have to add engine oil. The machine runs on oil and gas mixture.
It’s a 2 stroke
I have that exact blower love it
Fantastic Job ... considering this one for sure!
Thank you and it is a great one to consider!
I got it and gald I did ... performed above and beyond my research ... SOLID!
What type of oil do i add
It needs to be a 50:1 mixture. I recommend using the Stihl Ultra mix oil that comes in a silver bottle. Thanks for watching!
If your asking this question you shouldn't be operating any machinery
Is it possible to actually start it without having it on your back?
Yes, it’s possible. It’s not easy but it’s not hard to do.
Yes you can start it either way. The side start just makes it more convenient so you don't have to take it off to start.
@@WesternEquipment Thanks!! I got a 800 C the following day. Love it so far !!
Que diferencia hay entre la 600 y esta 800?
La diferencia es que el 800 tiene más fuerza, más salida de aire y más caballos de fuerza. El 800 también es un poco más pesado que el 600.
Very good explanation 👏 👌 👍
Finally this is the one. CFM matters
Volume baby , volume .
I agree and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment bought one today
Cfm are slightly higher on 580 husky. That being said The speed on this is like 35 mph faster. I’ve noticed the stihl to be superior
Picked mine up for 590$ rual king
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching!
They should really put an electric start on one of these things, that would work even better, especially if combined with the semi automatic choke
I agree that this would be a nice feature. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Just subbed. Going to get the 800 this weekend.
Thanks for support!
@@WesternEquipment no problem. We use John Deere zero turns in our mowing business here in Pryor. P&K Equipment treats us very well.
That’s great to hear.
Never fails a customer has to talk to me and I have to take it off to start up.
Exactly! This can be a real pain.
Stubborn to start at times, but hands down this blower is awesome! Worth every penny. This blower will literally blow you away! Buy it! You won’t regret it
Great video ..very informative
Bro, I though that blower had 240 Out the nozzle? STIHL better fix their website if your right.
240 is the Max Velocity. I should have mentioned that too but I only mentioned the average velocity which is 199. Good catch and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the info 👍
You’re welcome and thanks for watching!
Will you show the largest STILL weed eater and extendible limb saw next ?
I will see what we can do. Thanks for watching!
You are asking for a brush cutter and a chainsaw over the usual 24" bar. Be specific.
Awesome video
Thank you
Glad you liked it!
@@WesternEquipment Thank you and have a wonderful day
Great video just subscribed to the channel
Welcome to the group!
I’m not sure what is to come in the future but I would imagine something bigger and better is on the way.
great review, thank you
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great video
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I prefer redmax 8550 same price $ 599.00
I have heard good things about these so i will have to check one out sometime. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
Sry man but when i saw the thumbnail i thought this is tool time 😂
I find it very hard to start.
Thanks for watching!
why not show it in action?
Good question. I definitely should have done so. I am trying to do this now in all of my product reviews.
A husqvarna 570 cost less and out blow the 800 in the real world. husqvarna 570 bts will average 236mph air speed while the 800 averages 199 mph with burst to 239.
Interesting. I may have to try this out someday soon.
First
Thanks!
Minty!!!!!!!!!!
improper start pulling the cord, not in line with stihl recommendation. Also, no safety goggles or hearing protection. Overall very bad representation of how to use a blower safely.
You put the wrong word in this video title !
You Accidently put the word "Review".
The word "Sales Pitch" seems more appropriate.
.
I could see them being interchangeable lol thanks for watching!
Don't be upset you wasted money on another brand.
But not the most powerful produced
This may be true. I am not sure how all other brands compare but maybe I could test that out at some point. Thanks for watching!
Start it when is on u can’t even pull it
'Let's go' 'get it on' in an irritatingly loud American accent 'do it'🤣
HAHA! I'll see if I can start implementing something catchy like this is my presentation. Thanks for watching!
