I already have 350 plus hours on my Echo 98010T in 1.5 years. I use it exclusively for everything even just fine blowing of grass out of mulch etc. Oh and I am 58 as well.
I didn't put an hour meter on mine but I had it 3 years using it daily in both tree service and lawn work. Would bet it had at least few hundred hours and still run like new it's the best blower I've ever run. We got a few different stihl at work my personal blower is the echo and any time I have to use work stihl blower feels like half of the machine the echo is.
@@zack6892 I hope to test one myself. I have a ECHO 580 unit with two extension tubes. Works for me but just barely. Hope to see what other makers are going to bring to the party. HOPE is has 1500 CFMs.
I use the 9010 on all my yards. I know it's over kill but I can blow off so fast and keep it moving. I love it.
ECHO ECHO ECHO
U mean the Remax ebz9000?
Take the middle tube section out of the 9010. Makes the overall length much shorter easier to use on a stand on blower and also less fatiguing. And it also helps in flower beds and bushes having a shorter tube.
I'm a 55-year-old Grandma that uses it all day.
Thanks for the ideas. I am going to do this
I respect you so much, Miss as a lovely of echo products and the 9010 and 8010
2 things put Zip tie on fuel line inside tank on Echo. fuel line will start to leak air and it wont run right did it on mine after 4 tanks, Also on the ECHO you dont have to run all the tube extensions. Take the end tube off the one with the metal tip. If you are under 5'6 take the mtddle tube off and put the one with metal tip on.
I use the Stihl BR 600 Magnum and the 450. The 450 is a pure two stroke which I really love. The 600 Magnum seems to have a more focussed air stream than the 700/800, it brings the power to the point when you need that little „extra punch“ for moving wet grass, leafs etc. It can even move gravel, rocks etc if you want it to. The 450 is used on smaller areas where I want a lightweight but also powerful blower.
Handheld blowers I use are the old BG 85 and 86 and a Dolmar PB 252.4 which is a real four stroke engine. The Dolmar is used for just blowing off grass after mowing in small Spaces, very quiet but Not that powerful. The old BG 85 is still my favourite one, it seems to have slightly more Power than the 86.
Thats my personal thoughts on blowers. Everyone should find the right one that works for him. I just dont need a larger one, which is heavier on my back also.
I am from germany, hope you can understand what I am saying.
Greetings and keep up the great work you do 👍🏻
I agree with you because I have the BR600 as well. Not as powerful as other blowers, but it is great for that quick burst of air when cleaning out flowerbeds, blowing off sidewalks, etc...Great middleweight blower.
We have all gotten so spoiled over the years. When I started my lawn service, the biggest Stihl I could get was the legendary BR 380. We were ecstatic when Stihl came out with the BR400.
I had the same blower until my sister inlaw put the wrong gas in the engine and messed it up.
@@dansaks8961that's how I got my echo 9010.my buddy straight gassed my old one and offered to by me a new one
Just bought a redmax 9000. 1245 cfm
Ive used all 3 brands over the years in different sizes. The echo 9010 is a brute. Will move more material by far. Great for moving lots of leaves as fast as possible. But it does wear you down a bit if you use it for hours on end especially on hills. Im a shorter guy and it can be a workout. Totally overkill for just finish blowing. Echo all around is just a great brand. The redmax, it just works well. Nothing less. Stihl by far the most comfortable, and the fit and finish are great, but just not as powerful as other machines in its class. Even as you said sounds like it just doesnt rev as high as it should. But for doing finish blowing being easy to start and comfortable, its a good option. Or for a homeowner needing a larger blower.
If you add a waist strap to the echo it makes it so much better to run for long stretches the way it is setup as it comes it kinda puts a lot of leverage on your back cause the straps put all the weight high and when your running it getting pushed by the air it wears you out trying to counter the top heavieness of it. I drilled into the base and added kinda a clamping stud to hold on a simple waist strap and it completely changes the way you carry the weight and make it feel way better.
I agree with your specific opinion !
I had a very bad experience with the echo 9010, the two blowers I had broke down in the gears of the starting system with the same match, now I use 3 redmax 8550 blowers and the problems are over...
I pick The Proyama Leaf Blower, although the brand is unknown. At first, I bought it with a skeptical mindset, then I love the power of it. This blower has plenty of power. Our yard is always covered with lots of leaves, which has been a hassle for us. But with this blower, cleaning up the leaves is no longer a difficult task. Seeing the clean yard instantly lifts my spirits. Their brand's after-sales service is also very efficient. One of my parts was missing, and they quickly resolved the issue without any delay.
But it's heavier than my expect. My solution has been to start it on the tailgate of my truck and kinda back in to it.If you also find it heavy, you can try this method. It works really well. Starts on 1 pull.I use gas with no alcohol to avoid gumming-up the carb. I highly recommend this blower - it won't disappoint you.
From my personal experience, the BR800 is the best for home owners.
The PB9010 is the strongest but heavier and uncomfortable.
The Redmax 8560 is in the middle for power but all day long comfortable.
Even though the Stihl has the best padding and straps when new, they wear out the faster followed by the echo (for commercial use).
Gas tank: echo and Redmax gas tanks are bigger but you can get 20 minutes more run time than the Stihl (on a job site that's huge).
For me the best overall is the Redmax.
Definitely the echo 9010 is the absolute best by far when it comes to fall cleanups, I had an 8 feet pile high and in 3 minutes I knocked it out, the Stihl blower is amazing because it does so much work for a lighter, Stihl X 800 is perfect for summer to blow clippings off the driveways and crack seals for the mowing season, it’s perfect for the gutters, echo won’t do well on gutters, I would say use the Stihl in summer and coming fall use echo 9010 it pushes the crap out of bulk leaf piles like it’s nothing and it’s the blower that banks out leaf piles for fall cleanups that will get you volume done
I love my BR800c. Side start is great once it’s warm. Super comfortable for extended use. I think I’d like to pick up a 9010 just for fun. Seems like a nice unit also.
I bought a brand new one from Kubota and used it for a few hours with the original plug plug and then switch out to the recommended reference E3 spark plug and man what a difference it makes… it purrs like a kitten and it saves gas and more it has more torque, unbelievable, I got a hikers clips between my chest and Man U will love it man wont ever fall off again, guaranteed
I got the 9010t and that thing is straight thrust. I’m using it for commercial residential and during rainy fall season the leaves just run from this blower. I went with hand control because it just feels more natural for me. Looking for a 800c from everyone saying the comfort of it. I’m personally a Stihl fan my dad’s a echo/shindaiwa. The side start has my interest. I really wished they’d make different models of the electric start. For commercial it comes in handy whether side start or electric start would be nice
MANY are saying the echo blows yours out of the water. It looks like your denying the truth and in that case need to go screw yourself. MANY of us seek the most powerful so our machine has the largest ball sack. That would maximize productivity and which makes things easier, more sensible, and profitable. Take your leaf blower and shove it where the sun don't shine.
I've always been a Redmax user, but when I switched to the Echo pb9010 last year I have to say it can push more leaves than any Redmax. It seems like it has about the same air speed but it's the volume of air that it pushes which is substantially more than the Redmax. It does eat the fuel quick, but you get the job done quicker. In the end any leaf blower is better than raking...well almost any leaf blower 😊
😂2diivviviif
Heavy and drinks gas like crazy, but that damn thing blows like the big bad wolf!
@@strobaholic Yep I can't agree more. Always had the Redmax biggest blower, but the Echo is a monster. Not sure the weight and gas guzzling makes it better but I still have the Echo!
I like to have a hand held blower for small jobs. So the 9010 in conjunction with a hand held gas or even a battery powered blower would be a great fit for me.
Love my PB650. Built like a tank without all the issues of the newer models. Original Carb too! Only mod was to remove the spark arrestor. Always used ECHO oil from day one and started using a little Sea Foam over the last 8 years. I've used this unit for home use but with 3 acres of of huge hardwoods this blower has seen a lot of hours and still going strong! Thanks for the great video.
Looked like the 8560 and the 9010 were very close to me. Something you didn't mention but that needs to be considered with these big BP's is how their air stream works. The 8010/9010 tend to blow very wide. That's fine on a large pile like here in this video or in a wide open property, but they scatter stuff to the sides that you have to keep going back to round up on a normal leaf covered lawn. The air stream of both the 8560 and 800 are much more useful for moving debris straight ahead or wherever you want it to go without all the sideways scattering.
Angles, leaf blowing is all angles and wind. Once you learn the angles with the 8010/9010 there’s no doubt that they’re the best as far as power goes. You can blow paint off a deck 😂
@@nickcalabrese7433 I own all of these BP's (8010 not 9010) and the 8560 is the full equal to it. Actually it slight;y bests it. The two Echo's just blow too wide an air stream for most uses to be as efficient as they should be.
@@404nitro Thats exactly what you want for leaves though is my point. Yes it’s “overkill” for blowing grass and lesser volumes of matter. BUT after using 8010s for 2000+ hours, you learn the angles and when to throttle down early on. Which makes them even more efficient because you cover larger areas with the wider air stream.
Like anything; it’s the right tool for any task if you know how to use it. They’re all great blowers that get the job done but since they cost about the same give me the most powerful one 10/10.
@@nickcalabrese7433 No, that's not always what you want (or need) and that was my point. I've been at this for over 20 years now. I have a pretty good idea of what works well, and when and where, not to mention how to use these things. No offense meant.
@@nickcalabrese7433and loose clear coat off of a car… ask me how I know 😅
I use the Husqvarna 580BTS, so basically the Redmax. I find it excellent for my use! For beds, it's a bit overkill, so i use a Husqvarna 525BX handheld, best on the market in my opinion!
Echo 💪🏼. I still wouldn’t use it for lawns but cleanups it’s comfortable and can’t be beat. The 9010 will break it quite a bit after 3-5 tanks too
All my guys always go for the Stihl blowers. I had several Echo 8010 and a couple 9010 but we had customers complain about excessive noise from them. I also have a Red max and it is a good reliable blower.
Say what
Stihl is louder and crappysounding by far
@@BetUBetterBI do not agree. The echo sounds like a dirt bike. It sounds better, but for sure not louder.
Tod's asen ruido sino fueran motores
I have tried all these exact machines for blowing snow out of switches on the railroad. 2 redmax blew up in 1 season. The stihl is alittle finicky with its easy start/side start. The echo...still running after 2 full winters and has by far more power
I had a very bad experience with the echo 9010, the two blowers I had broke down in the gears of the starting system with the same match, now I use 3 redmax 8550 blowers and the problems are over...
I use the BR800 for the mowing season for the convenience of the front pull and the quieter operation. Plus I think the tighter air stream is better for grass. I use the 9010 for leaves as you proved it has way more power for moving leaves. CFM is king. As far as the longer nozzle, I like it because it gets you close to the leaves. The weight doesn’t bother me. BTW I’m your dad’s age. 💪
Really the sthil 800 series is not needed for grass imo. It's a waist of fuel. The sthil br 600 is more than plenty for grass removal. The echo 580 would be a great option as well.
@markclark1605 The BR800 has the same mph as the 600 with a broader wind stream. If you want a great all around blower, the BR800 IMO is the answer. As far as fuel, if you get the job done faster, fuel is irrelevant. For leaves, ECHO is king. Chainsaws on the other hand, Stihl all day
They all are great machines, I think the sthil is the winner for me. Has enough power and the less weight and how comfortable the BR- 800X makes it nice.
I have a Stihl and echo blowers and the Stihl is definitely lighter. However, they maybe sacrificing power for weight. Bigger engine in some cases produce more power. Just my thoughts! I do use the echo more.
I definitely think the stihl is the most comfortable to wear especially the sidestart model with the waist belt and chest strap, makes it feel light on your back. As for the other two, this is coming from my experience with the 8010 and 8550 but the echo is certainly the heaviest but the straps and padding are still good, it's the redmax padding that I don't really like at all so much so that I got the husqvarna version 580 mk 2 to see if those felt better but still wasn't really comfortable
But as far as power I'd rock either echo or redmax, they're both a big powerhouse that you can't go wrong with. I'd love to see redmax/husqvarna come out with an even bigger monster! Also echo just debuted the pb-7910 which is in between the 9010 and the 770, I'd like to see what that can do and compared against the redmax 7500.
I have 4 echo 9010s. They are the best for moving material. I would keep the stihl for a finish blower, tho. I have 2 stihls br 800 for final blowing on mulch jobs and hardscape jobs. Stihl are good when you don't need tons of power
The red max and echo are made by the same manufacturer
@@ernestpittman270 your thinking of Husqvarna and redmax. Echo is echo
@@ernestpittman270Echo makes Shindaiwa. Redmax is made by the Husqvarna group
@@Born2doom I had shindaiwa's a couples of season's ago Blew up 2 string trimmers and a blower due to defective insulator blocks leaking and leaning the motor out.
you don't even need to go to the gim after using the echo 9010.
Stihl saws, blower, and John Deere tractors is all I will use for my property maintenance.
I find build quality and service to be better for both brands versus competition.
Really liked your 2 part videos!
Having used an inadequate blower last fall to move mountains of leaves, I needed to get something more powerful. I went with the Stihl 800 C-E due to the comfort, usability features, and past experience of Stihl reliability.
I watched your videos post purchase...the Stihl is actually 4 cycle engine that explains why it is less powerful. But, it is more economical to operate, lower noise, and the features are what I was looking for.
Thank you for the video!!!
Thx I have no idea which one to choose now. I want comfort but good blowing. I am a homeowner not a contractor so I think the Stihl would work better for me. A lot of reviews don't talk about comfort so thank you for that because I am 62 and still clear my 2 acres lot myself.
The Echo all day long. We use ours to blow out a turkey barn after clean out. Way better than the Stile we had before - like in half the time better and no quirky start and running issues with the Echo!
I have 2 stihl blowers ….a BR600 and a BR800ce….I use the BR600 for acorns and tight areas and the BR800 for pushing leaf piles.
My back isn’t the greatest so I picked stihl because they are the lightest weight and most comfortable. I clean up about 2 acres of my own property only so I don’t make money with these blowers….but the money I saved doing it myself vs paying to have it done more than paid for these 2 blowers in 2 seasons…
All I do is add stabilizer to the fuel on my last tank and park them till next season….they both fire up within 2-3 pulls…
I use the br800 with the side start it’s the best for me
Yes not the most powerful, but the quietest and most comfortable by a long run
Agreed
Sounds like the carburetor on the steel needs a little adjustment. I have one and like it a lot.
Same here
I pefer the BR 800 with side start and it is the most comfortable on the back
Stihl the best all around.. weight and comfort make up for a little less power and throttle response is good and it’s easier to control air speed for blowing beds and not blowing all the mulch out
I also started wearing a respirator full face to keep exhaust smoke out of lungs. Only use it for 10-20 minutes at a time to avoid pneumonia which I had from wearing it to long but saves lungs
all blowers are in the key of B

Echo 9010 is a beast and will give you about 1.5 years of commercial heavy use than will die just as sure as sun comes up everyday! A great blower and we use them and will continue to
One just needs to compare specifications.
Echo 1110cfm, 220mph,48newtons, 30lbs
Redmax 1000cfm, 220mph, 47newtons, 25½lbs
Stihl 912cfm,239mph,41newtons, 23lbs
The first three specifics matter regarding the ability to push dry and wet leaves.
No surprise.
I liked seeing the log-roll! The Echo is a brute w/ airflow.
For me, it is mostly about ease and certainty of cold starts
I have both the echo and the redmax. The redmax is good for every day use, the echo is good for tons of leaves. I would not pick the Stihl due to the complexities of Four Mix.
There is no complexity it's two cycle gas
@@tomw1719 the Stihl is a four stroke hybrid. Meaning it has valves that will need to eventually be adjusted.
They're no big deal to adjust
After watching a ton of these, I think I’ll pick the smaller blower they make for my Ventrac. The Army (and age) did a number on my back.
Redmax has a ebz 9000 at 56n blowing power making it the most powerful in the world
Yep, I agree with your choices. I own an echo 801 and it works amazing. I even use it to push light snow.
reliability is the only thing i care about, i go for stihl
Where did you hear about a new bigger RedMax blower? Please let me know, I would like to see a picture of it. I've searched the internet and can't find anything about it. Thanks!
Had a BR400 stolen over 20 years ago and replaced it with a redmax that still runs to this day. Bought an 8010 almost 5 years ago and its all I need. Demo all of them or find a local crew and ask what they like. Opinions are going to vary obviously. As for me, I want to demo a Scag Windstorm.
Br600 and Ebz 7500 are the best all around blowers imo.
Nooo q va ser los mejores son ECHO.
Pb 9010t
Great video, keep it up. I love, " I would pick the Sithl if I lived in a place without leaves."
I needed to move the most amount of leaves in the shortest time. I for some reason hate the sound the Stihl blowers and the 4 stroke gas oil mix engine. The 9010 has done what I need but I don’t think I could run it all day everyday. I use my Echo 2520 for daily use. The 9010 gets ran for about 2 days a year clearing 2 acres.
For my small company we usethe Redmax 7500s and have one 8560 but it sits all summer. We quit buying the biggest because we bought a hurricane and don’t need the biggest ones anymore.
I just bought the br800 side start. For blowing walnuts so I could mow. I have a backyard full of black walnut trees. It worked great. I was looking at the echo but it’s to loud and bulky for running up and down my deck steps. I have double decks one on top of another and need to blow around my pool so I like I can shorten the tube and it feels lighter.
I would use the BR 800x because it's a lot easier to start and it's lighter
Just got a 9010. My wife loves it. Gets more done in 10 minutes than my old blower could in 2 hours. Awesome unit.
Havnt finished watching yet... anyway, I've used all three, we always run redmax, so similar to you guys, the stihl is the best at mulch beds, its the most compact and has quick power, after year 3 of being abused by us it's really showing it's age, but it was my favorite blower. Echo, can't say much about it, thought it was a decent blower until it's head blew up and doesn't run good anymore and it's out of warranty... redmax is best all around
Edit: idk what it is about the srihl but it is just so good at allowing you to get behind and inbetween people shrubs
Also the fact that the machine is completely sealed off makes it so no limes or branches can pull a fuel line off for example(ive had this happen multiple times on redmax) The machine is definantly harder to work on tho
Please try the stihl, if you sell it tho I'll buy it, im not too far from you guys
I like to do the final cuts with grass in the fall short to make it easier blowing the leaves through the grass!🙏🏻👊🏼from 🇨🇦!
I have the Husky, which is the a orange red max. But to my eyes based on your "tests", the Stihl and Redmax look to equivalent on power. The cameraman made the comment at the beginning of the video. The others Sound like they are revving higher, but it is just the four-stroke nature of the Stihl. Made My next purchase pretty clear, I'm getting the 800 to try out. Giving it the power is there but the biggest thing is the weight a couple of pounds doesn't seem like a lot until you're wearing it all day,, not to mention the other videos I've seen. It is a lot more fuel efficient. Those two things are huge when you're running a business and running the equipment yourself. Also, it's made in Virginia Beach Virginia right here in the good old USA 🇺🇲
I took the end nozzle off my echo 9010t and left the middle tube on, It's really light on the arm now and has a little extra cfm to boot.
Have to go with echo. Had 3 STHILs (2 X / 1 c-e) models all kick the bucket with in 8-9 months of use. Only ran non ethanol gasoline with STHIL oil mix. All regular maintenance done spark plugs , filters, and adjusted valve. To much vibration seems like, muffler would just break bolts holding them to motor making them crazy loud. (Also removing said steel bolt from aluminum head is no fun)Had motor heads and blocks come apart
due to the heavy vibration. Bolt from back pull starter come loose, replace and retorqued same problem within a few days. Maybe these three were lemons. This was around 2021/2022 so maybe to get product out QC was just looking the other way. But after all the frustration decided echo was the move. But still love STHIL just not the Br 800 series
I have 2 Stihl Br800s and have found the same. Both blew up under a year. My dealer isnt recommending any more.
I have had my BR 800 for 4 years used all season, no problems. Guess I got lucky.
And this is the comment I was looking for. I absolutely love Stihl saws and have 10 or 11 of them and I really like my fs-131 weed eater. Blowers 👎🏻👎🏻. My br-700 lasted a couple seasons before having problems and my 800 isn't even two years old and it is having the same problems. I am extremely picky when it comes to my equipment and the oils I run. I let them warm up, use them , let them cool down for a minute before hitting kill switch. I know they all have problems at some point but Stihl needs to get back to the drawing board on their blowers if you ask me. They also have a plastic timing gear in them that is prone to break. I'm really thinking of making the switch to ECHO. Thoughts anyone?
9010 definitely the best
Echo is unbeatable. It does things you can’t believe compared to the 800. It’s a great blower It is heavier but you wear it less as it gets the job done much much faster
I run 2 Stihl BR800s. They were great for 6 months then problems started. I have found them unreliable and the side start is horrid. I bought a BR700 with a traditional pull start 2 weeks ago which isn't quite as powerful but I am expecting it to last the distance better. My dealer told me he is stopping recommending the BR800 as he is seeing them not lasting.
I like stihl
Great video guys! I’m looking for a leaf blower for my personal home used. I have lots of trees (Warren NJ) in a semi heavy wooded area. My goal is to be done quick & back in the house. In doing my research and watching some of the local landscapers, I absolutely will not buy the Stihl. The noise level is crazy! My next door neighbor’s landscapers uses this and it wakes up the entire block! The others are loud as well but not like the stinking sound the Stihl makes. The Echo does have power but as mentioned, it is long and I’m a short guy and fairly in good shape. Definitely don’t want arm fatigue. Power Max might be the choice. Also, I know these machines are probably overkill for a home owner but I’m interested in saving time and I’m not interested in just an arm blower vs a back pack. One question, I went to the Ford’s store you mentioned. How is their maintenance service on the equipment?
sixdegrees9250 Imo the stihl is by far the quietest blower of them but like others have said, no quite as powerful.
I had the echo 9 series more power than the red max but only lasted 3 seasons
Back to the red max 8500. I live in commerce mi in business 23 years . Echo small stuff last me 5-7 years. Lawn leaves and no more snow plowing . 84 clients all done by me in four days . 72” and 60” exmark . 100k a year . Would like to chat .
The Echo PB-9010T Backpack Blower is the strongest because it blows at 220 miles per hour and 1110 CFM, The Redmax EBZ8560 is the loudest Backpack Blower.
The Stihl has a 4 mix engine, which is why it sounds lower pitched. That is how it is supposed to sound.
Update...bought one 2 days ago and had a chance to use it on a couple smaller clean ups and WOW! what a difference. Both clean ups were a mix of wet/dry leaves and a lot that were packed down in the dirt and it was bare ground when I left. The leaves that were packed down in the dirt would usually take a few back and forth sweeps with the BR800 but this new 9010, it was just one sweep and move on. I'd say this 9010 is like having a small push blower on your back and with very similar conditions and amount of leaves compared to last year when I used my BR800 the 9010 saved me about 20-25% of time compared to last years notes. A couple other things I noticed is you have to be careful around gravel, this thing will send a marble size rock flying, specially a flat rock. Another thing is the hose is very stiff and you'll want the handle as low as you can on the tube which will help moving that cannon for a tube back and forth, I did that and turned the trigger handle inwards and that helped a lot. Lastly, I got about 1;15 on a full tank at full throttle most of the time.
Ive been wanting to try one of these for a couple seasons now. I just want to get in and get out at any clean up so the most powerful is the best for us. One particular property we've had for years is a 1 acre, wooded Doctor's Estate and usually do 3 full clean ups a season. We always take 2 large push blowers and our Sthil 800's but it seems like we only get a couple seasons at best out of a blower before it starts running rough, lacks power or just stops running and all we use is non-ethanol fuel. We used to run all Echo products but a new 855? blower blew up 2 days out of warranty and the dealer and Echo said sorry but can't help you! Then, our SRM string trimmers would only get about 2 seasons before they were junk (I have 5 in my shop just hanging there not running) so I switched everything over to Sthil and seems like we get twice the longevity without needing any repairs but our 800's are starting to run like crap and loosing power after 2-3 seasons now so might be time to try one of these. One major issue I'll have is the closest dealer is an absolute joke! Ive tried calling there 3 different times about 3 major pieces of equipment and had to leave a message and no one returned any calls. I dont know if it's just me but I expect to get 4-5 seasons out of this type of equipment before it starts needing repairs, specially when any simple repair is over 1/3 of the cost of a new machine.
Try adjusting the valves on the Stihl. The 4 mix have rocker arms unlike the 2 strokes and need adjustments from time to time
The new Resmax 9000 is so strong and has a lot of power. It is a little stronger than my eco 9010 bit, which also cost anout $125 more than the echo. If you are on a budget, I would say go with the exho 9010. If you dont mind and can spend more $ I say you should go with the Redmax.
Great video as always men. Did you check the RPM's on all three and adjust the carbs so they are running at their peak? My dealer runs all my stuff and adjust the carb so it is at its peak. I just ask since you never had fuel in them and not ran at the dealers. I run the side start stihl br800, which gives you longer back pad and a belly strap and an adjustable nozzle.
We ran everything as it was given to us. But good point tweaking the carbs is a good option
Take the middle tube off the Echo and put the end tube back on. Makes it so much lighter and very easy to use. The Echo blows my Redmax away but I still love them both.
Thanks very much for this timely video. I think I am sold on the echo though I am also tempted by the Red Max as you seem to have chosen it for yourselves!
I have a ten-acre property in the Boston area, and I want to save time. I probably have 20 or 30 pick-up loads of leaves.
My Husquevarna 150 just takes too much time. I am over 70 and usually hire some Guatemalan guys I get at Home Depot for help.
Blowing the leaves is only half the battle, picking them up and taking them to the street for town pick up is another.
I am not looking forward to the job, Thanks for all you good intentions and fine effort. It shows you care
ps. Do you have a recommendation for me?.
I purchased the BR 800 ……what a unit. I purchased it due to the easy starting. I could care less about an extra 100 CFM!
UPDATE -
Depending on your age,
operating the Echo PB-9010 for more than 2 hours,
may require you to take Pain Medicine,
for at least 2 days.
I usually favor Tylenol.
What Pain medicine do you use ?
.
Naproxen plus Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) plus Lyrica.
My trusty 8 yr old husqvarna 570 (redmax 7500) lead me here. Today the tube snapped off came apart couldn’t get back together so duct tape to the rescue and the kill switch is acting up again. It’s been (an still is) a GREAT blower. Back when I was in the business I bought a br 800 c side start. Very nice blower but I always felt that it was honestly weaker than my husqvarna 570. I just don’t like the 4mix engines. I do love stihl chainsaws though along with my echo Timberwolf saw (Timberwolf still best bang for buck out there) I digress. My next blower will be the echo pb 9010t. If I could afford it my property would be perfect for a scag windstorm lol. I really need a bagger though for my bx2680 kubota. I’m gonna hit up the echo one day sale in the spring. Although you speak of a new redmax and I assume husqvarna too is coming out, if it can tie or beat the echo then I’ll go that route. My husky has been a good one those strato engines are hard to beat. Nice job guys good review.
I use a redmax 7500 for day to day cleanup and a redmax 8500 in the fall for leaves, but I am now going to look at a echo 9010 for leaves after watching your video.
We run the same set up. Fall we switch over to the 8560s absolutely no complaints
One thing not mentioned is parts availability and service. Stihl wins hands down here imho. Look at most landscaping and lawn care trucks and you will see stihls. I would much rather sacrifice a lil power and have a working blower, than having something down waiting for parts.
I agree with the power of the echo. I will say tho that the stihl c model with the side start has a different tip which the c performs better.
I love my stihl br800c with side start and I wouldn’t want one with a side hip throttle if it’s not on tube I probably wouldn’t want it
It boils down to more than just "push" power which comes from mph (+cfm's)... Ultimately it's the cfm's doing the work with bulk such as leaves, but mph gives you push. It's almost like cfm's is horsepower while mph's is the torque.
I do see they all have large nozzle openings, also fuel consumption:
The Echo consumes considerably more fuel than the Stihl.
Redmax is out far as I'm concerned.
Stihl power but honestly they all look about equal power
I think there's a lot of different companies out there with different good things and bad things like if they had a backpack blower with that echo motor and power and have a steel tube on it one of the collapsible ones it would be the ultimate backpack blower
Used echo blowers and they move some stuff but for comfort and reliability the br600 is the best.
Nice video redmax is also my choice!
Hands down echoes....I'm going out and buying one
I used 10 pb-9010 for my company knocking out leaf cleanup with ease
I have two stihls and they need time to break in imo
And also, steel it still does idle everyone pretty well lol just make sure you’re staying on top of the maintenance . You’ll be good to go. I’ll run pretty well for you.
This wasn’t a very even test. I did see a difference in technique. The Echo did seem most powerful though. I wonder if the longer tube helps concentrate the air. He blew from the top longer with the Redmax and even Echo than with the Stihl. He also blew the leaves further with the Stihl. The Stihl he blew from the bottom more and stood further back. With the log he stood still with the Stihl, but stepped into it with the other two. Echo for the win, but Stihl was at least tied with the Redmax if not slightly better.
If you are going to the Equipment EXPO Please do a video on the Stand on Bullalo Blitz leaf blower. It is listed as the most powerful blower in the world.
I love my steel blowers. I have about a golf course and whenever we’re doing like leaf removal cleaning up mowing grass when we mow steel is my go to whenever I’m working there, but we have a few Eco trimmers and a few blowers but I’m a steel person steel work great it’s just some of them are old. Just have to take a little warm up but that’s gonna happen when you’re getting out there 5:30 in the morning And it’s thirtyish degrees out there. It’s just a mixed match of what time shorting stuff but yeah still Liz go to a bar for most of the guys are and yeah steal is probably one of the best bowlers I’ve used now. I can’t say echo does make a pretty powerful blower but
I use an Echo 770X for about 2 years now, but sometimes I wish I had bought the 9010 even though its a few lbs heavier.
That said, I could have also gone with a Stihl BR700.
Will any of these blow gravel back onto my driveway?
Great video I'm just a home owner I think the echo would be best for me because of all the acorns in my yard my held held echo cant move them.
I actually own a redmax weedeater but I would love have a redmax blower
Redmax is the best the other 2 don’t even exist in my world.
That Echo 9010 ( and 8010 before it) is an absolute piece if junk. They overheat easily consequently scoring the cylinder. I have 4. I'd never but them again.
No les das mantenimiento xreso es.
Maybe not enough oil ours are the best
@@laymensgrowing2032 I think the Echo 8010 failures are well documented
@@vinmirarchi Same with how Bugatti's oil changes could be cheaper but they are still one of the best. This is the first time ive ever heard someone say one of the best and most popular commercial blowers are junk. Must not know how to use em.
@@laymensgrowing2032 junk. Why do you think the 8010 was replaced after a few years with the 9010? It's because they had major cooling issues. My local dealer won't even stock it anymore.
I stand by statement, sorry.
hi there bros. i have a red max 8550, do you have any recomendations of a hook to mount it in my shed? thanks
stihl would be my last choice for anything. as a former mechanic we had a hype brand there too, snap-on/rip-off... to confirm, when hype brand loses excuses/apologies start flying. (its not that bad, good brand blah blah) based on this video, if i was reviewing, it would be trash talking the hype brand all day long. i use the husq 580, and its overkill for me, we dont have tons of leaves or humidity here.
Redmax is by far the best option. In my opinion
I agree with you. Echo most power but to heaven. Red max for life
I'm 69 years old all are great I've had Stihl br800 and the echo 9010 you pick??? Go with the best dealership and job site requirements. Maybe both😊
Well, I now have the RM9000. It is definitely the king of the hill (at least for now LOL) It is unbelievably strong and a lot more comfortable to swing the tube on than the Echo's.
El r es pb 9010t
@@geovannysanchez8108 What???
I use the 9010 and that thing is powerful as hell.
