The 56 was the starter blower, then i upgraded to the 86 when i wanted to carry two blowers. The upgrade was for power, the anti-vibration, and the thumb trigger. Both still in use, the 56 is 10 years old, the 86 is 5. Excellent units, and the 86 is worth the extra money every day of the week.
upgraded to the 800x from the br600 after 3 years of commercial landscaping. Extra ~200cfm make a hugeee difference in wet leaves. In my experience, higher mph is better for lightstuff like dust, not super wet grass like driveways, but you need the high cfm numbers for wet stuff like leaf cleanups in the fall. 800x has doubled and sometimes almost tripled my fall cleanup speeds.
As I being a large Build person at 6'4"+ I got the BR800C Talk about a work horse. I added to the length of the down Tube with a Curve at the bottom to LIFT the Leaves. I love apples to apples tests, and i feel this comparison was more than fair. I would love to see a BG 56 vs. BG 86 comparison with each unit using a round and flattened tip. Yes, the 86 will win this comparison, but i suspect the difference between these units would be so small that it would make the average homeowner question if the price point is worth the performance.

13:11 This insight is something I've noticed from using 700 and 600 backpacks myself, if you get low and get thr nozzle close to the ground it works better. Just bought the BGA 60 and maybe this comment can help someone who’s interested in it. It’s great except the grip isn’t big enough for my hand I guess, so the part of my finger that’s actually on the trigger isn’t the tip. Since it’s a variable speed trigger, I basically have to squeeze the whole handle to engage the highest speed, and your forearms will get a workout after a while
I have the Stihl BR800, I like it, especially for summer blowing grass off sidewalks. However, for leaf cleanup, Stihl is so far behind in the game. I also have an Echo PB9010, and new Redmax EBX9000. The Echo I have had for a couple seasons and it outperforms the Stihl by leaps and bounds. The Redmax steps it up even more. With 1245cfm or 56N of force. That puts Stihl out of the fall cleanup game in my opinion.
In my opinion, it depends on the operator really. More so, if you're a taller person. Only $40 more (as of now), for more blowing force, and an adjustable tube sounds alright.

For the money and performance, I just bought the BR430. This model actually uses a pin bearing on the piston rather than a bushing that you will find in the 600s and up. What's up with that Stihl...?
@nateb7778 In instances where high-velocity is a factor, bearings provide a better solution, while bushings respond well to low-speed, heavy load applications. The life of a bushing is greatly influenced by operational temperature and heat caused by friction from oscillating and reciprocating motion. So, why would Stihl use bushings on their pistons for the 600, 700, and 800 backpack blowers and not bearings..? It boggles the mind...
@@jerrywhite4497 most four stroke engines don't use a upper end bearing. Two stroke applications do so. I have worked on motocross engines and the two strokes use a needle bearing in a roller cage for the bearing space allowing them circulation individually. Four stroke upper end of the connecting rod is machined and ground for the od dimension of the wrist pin clearance.
@markclark1605 All of the Stihl backpack blowers are 2 strokes. The point I was making was that the larger backpack blowers from 600 up use bushings instead of wrist pin bearings.
If I owned a house I'd go the Kombi Battery Power to be honest and get an extra battery. Have a Edger/ Trimmer/ Hedgetrimmer and Blower attachment. They also need to work on the weight of that backpack blower and increase run time again to ever make that worth it in location's that aren't regulated by battery equipment. Also honestly thought the BR800 might do it sub 10 seconds lol...

For the money and performance, I just bought the BR430. This model actually uses a pin bearing on the piston rather than a bushing that you will find in the 600s and up. What's up with that Stihl...?
Can you clarify what the impact is on a pin vs bushing bearing?
@nateb7778 In instances where high-velocity is a factor, bearings provide a better solution, while bushings respond well to low-speed, heavy load applications.
The life of a bushing is greatly influenced by operational temperature and heat caused by friction from oscillating and reciprocating motion.
So, why would Stihl use bushings on their pistons for the 600, 700, and 800 backpack blowers and not bearings..? It boggles the mind...
The BR 430 is a two stroke engine.
Unique but totally sensible take in my opinion.
bg 50 all day
It does run all day 👼
Excellent video, thanks.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching ☺
Thank you for this video bro this helped so much
Glad it helped
Stew so would you get the BG 56c or the BG 86?
Can anybody tell me the difference between BGA60 and BGA86? From specs are the same, but price is very different ;)
BR700s are popular for snow removal.
Oh wow, good to know. Never snows here in Florida, so did not know.
@@mainstreetmower Actually the br 800 is a more powerful option.
Is the Stihl BR450 C-EF still available in 2024 or is it being fazed out ?
I am a stilh repair texh but thay don't tell you that that spring for the bg86c is not warranty
800 all day and I have a small yard. I just want wet leaf power.
Yeah thats what I’m thinking. I’m not that strong of a girl but I’d rather handle a great easy machine and thinking the 800c 🤷🏼♀️
@@aandxdill2449 it’s worth it. Plus the straps support your back well.
Which styhl would be compatible to my husky
Br 800 X
I ordered myself BG86, I'm a TWO STROKE guy...
That's awesome. Hope you enjoy your new Blower
@mainstreetmower I do! It blew my mind!!
I blew my yard in few minutes...
@@REDLINERUNNER Awesome!
@@mainstreetmower I don't understand how people use it for a month or two and then it sits for the rest of the year...
People are not creative... You can use it almost daily whole year...
In the spring when is spring cleaning you can blow all the dust, spider webs and stuff... You can blow off the grass clippings after mowing/trimming the garden. In the summer the same thing and much more. The sky is the limit... Autumn after storms or to blow the leaves and more... Even my dad who was scheptical when I bought it was impressed!!
Such a great review. I didn't know they had such a wide lineup. At the stores they have only a few models and its confusing to pick one. Its sthil a hard decision. Elec vs gas. Handheld vs back pack
Thanks for watching ☺
Cool video!
3.3 Kw power output my 580BTS Husquvarna backpack blower
Br 800 C destroys all
A beast indeed
I’m a woman not great at pull starts, but I want power and easy start. Thinking the 800c with the waist belt also
Enjoying thank you
the BR800x here in ontario cost $929 cdn.. not cheap
That's steep ngl. It's around $650 in Florida right now. BR800X is definitely cream of the crop tho.
@@mainstreetmower650usd is close to 910cdn. So not much cheaper
Oh lol, I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know 🙂@@andrewkennedy9704
Blowing on black top does not really mean real world testing. JUST SAYING FELLOWS.
Be 600 best model
My personal fav for sure.
Most of the time the operates on a real job site move much faster with the equipment.
Just to let you know I own the sthil br 600.
Great Blower!
buddy was blowning straight at the floor on the test of the 700
Where is stihl corded leaf blower?
Im personally not a big fan of the corded ones. And as we explained in the video, STIHL kind of pivoted away from that design and developed more towards keeping the battery products cordless.
Is the 430 good at blowing blades of grass off the lawn? Especially biweekly cuts
Yes the BR430 has good power
Battery 700 bucks same as 460 petrol.... No real competition there then!!!
They have a new batter blower out and it truly slaps it's gas counterpart out the field. We're dropping a video on it soon, make sure you tune in.
You saw what Harry had 600 800👍👍
Br200 blower has big problems with the carburetor, I’m on my second one and the Stihl approved mechanic is trying to to get the third carburetor to work but they all failed. Shame on you Stihl for making crap

Also has to do with the Operators ambition.. Pick up the pace Mr..
Slacker lol
haha i am sure it feels like this while looking at it on video, but i promise it was more so because of the air flow you get when using those units in person.
I want a blower that's really good at blowing and for a veryyy long time😂🤣😂😂
I didn´t see the 450 test, were you too lazy doing that?
Never get why Americans call a liquid gas???
hahah that's funny. But FYI it's short for 'gasoline'
7200 Max rpm
Interesting video. I have the BR600 for a larger property and find it woefully underpowered. Very interesting to see the increased power in the 800.
Yes depending on how large the property is, you might need the extra power of 800
Or a Ventrac tractor with one of their blower options (there are two).
Fuel economy and weight 600 800 430 less maintenance maybe more weight less newtons 😊
Are you saying in that order if what you would buy?
Yes
