Another excellent, informative and amusing presentation by Alan, and I look forward to many more. Brings back pleasant memories of visits to Eastbourne as a child and teenager to my grandparents.

Resident since 2004, so still a 'newbie'. Find the presentation style of the speaker throughout his series of talks so enjoyable and instructive as to how the town and its surrounding area developed. Thank you for putting this together.

Thank you. Two more talks from Alan will appear next year here too. We think Alan is brilliant too and are always happy at putting these together.

This presentation covers the period from my birth until today I'm 75 so the development covered by Alan Wenham sort of parallels my own. I found a number of things I didn't know about very interesting but he chronicles the establishment of the town as a major destination in a very measured and informative way. Like me he clearly has a major affection for the town. I would heartily recommend anybody with an interest in Eastbourne to invest an hour of their time watching this..............its excellent.

Alan's love for the town really started our own love. We still think he has a Tardis hidden away as he waxes lyrical in his presentations on history as if he was there personally and knew the neighbours. 🙂

A joy to watch as my personal connection with Eastbourne spans most of the same period. In 1947, I was 6, my father returned from his war time service in India with his new family to settle in Willingdon. I experienced all the events covered in this most entertaining and informative talk. Your many RUclips features are a must watch for this expatriate based on the other side of the globe. Incidentally I was recently informed by a second cousin that we may even be distant relatives.
