This isn’t really correct…especially the beginning. They started making an all in one IMU and the first phantom was literally just a plastic shell for that same IMU. They made the money that they used to scale off the early hobby RC drone segment. They were effectively Traxxas but for quad copters. They sold some frames as well called the flame wheel.
