Well, that was quite an inspiring story. Meanwhile, I'm a computer science student and have a exam tomorrow, but rather watch your videos :D Keep up the great work!
Great DJI history lesson!! You did skip some things. I have a DJI S800 EVO. Hex. It was their first pro UAV. The 900 and 1000 came out the year after. ;) And the Inspire 2 was never 2k. I wish. I have one. And without ANYTHING. It’s still $2600 right now. Add remote, camera, batteries, case, lens, ProRes license, SSD, your looking at 8-10k depending.
Started with a Parrot AR Drone 2.0. Thought it was the best thing ever, but was only able to fly it with my phone and range was very limited. Then got a Phantom 2 H3-3D where I had to provide the GoPro and FPV hardware. Worked great, but since it only connected to GPS, it took forever to connect to at least 7 satellites in order to fly safely. I preferred at least 9 before I would take off. Another problem was that it was just too cumbersome to fly anywhere where I really wanted to get some awesome shots. It was just not convenient at all. I thought the Mavic Air would be a much better upgrade, but after doing some research, I found that it wasn't something I could trust. I didn't want a drone that uses enhanced Wi-Fi. So I waited for the Mavic 2 to come out that includes the new OccuSync 2.0. I ordered one the day it was released, the Mavic 2 Pro, and I have not regretted it since. I can just stuff it in my backpack when hiking and bust it out when I get to where we're going. Doesn't take hardly any room at all. I'm sure I've flown my Mavic 2 Pro more than I have flown my Phantom 2. I still have my Phantom 2 and I've been tempted to charge the batteries and take it for a flight. Last time I've flown it after flying my Mavic 2 Pro, it was kinda scary. It's a whole different animal. With the Mavic 2 Pro, you hardly have to make any corrections because it connects to so many satellites. The Phantom 2 still kinda drifts a little with what it can connect to. Now, fly the Mavic 2 in the arctic region like Fairbanks, AK and you may have to make some corrections because it may randomly drift as you're flying. GPS doesn't work so accurately up there, I found out.
Cool overview. Just a small comment on the M2 series: We have Mavic 2 Pro (M2P) with the 1" Hasselblad, Mavic 2 Zoom (M2Z) with the zoom camera, Mavic 2 Enterprise (M2E) with the attachments (this one sports the same gimbal, as M2Z), and also there is Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual (M2ED), which has a dual FLIR infra camera incorporated. beside the top line of the P4 series, I also miss a bit the M200-M210 lineup, which is an amazing enterprise donkey. Other than these, the episode was much fun to watch, keep up the good work. Subscribed. ;)
These are dope. Great job guys! Watched the blackmagic one the other day and digged it so much had to check this one out. I think the brands you guys are picking are what's making this super interesting. It's like these underdogs that came out of nowhere. I feel like canon or nikon or sony wouldn't be as interesting. What about RED? Not exactly an underdog story but could be interesting considering the dude came from sunglasses.
You missed couple not so important phantom variants but Phantom 4 Pro is too important to skip. They were able to manage to cramp 1" censor in that form factor which is unheard of.
"They dropped the Inspire 1"....did it sustain much damage?......Hey man you're SO COOL! you are surely right down there with all the kids with the lingo and everything....why, you are in fact an Xennial! Whassup?
How does Glonass increase the flight range? It is a positioning system like GPS! The flight range of the Phantom 3 Profession and advanced where higher because of the use of lightbridge video transmission system instead of a WiFi based system.
I Want an air so bad. I really want a Mavic 2 pro but I've never flone a drone rated for outdoor use really. So i think the air is a good spot to start.
OK, But you did not address my conspiracy theory.. That is every time I upgrade to a new DJI product, within three days they will release a newer version of that product. Hilarious commentary by the way. 😂
I didn't know this whole episode was shot on a green screen lol tried to figure out how they managed to do the shot when he says "much much bigger". Well now I know:)
I'll bet one thing you don't know about DJI Drones ... DJI drones over 250g after 1 Jan 2020 will have a Feature called ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) in other words the FAA and every airliner in the US air space will be able to see your drone. You will be able to see every (No matter the size) man carrying airplane that is ADS-B equipped on your controller screen. The FAA is Watching.
Ok, but your deep dive is missing how their customer support is TERRIBLE. Like, ruin your hardware with their pushed firmware update then make YOU pay to fix it kind of bad.
Well, that was quite an inspiring story. Meanwhile, I'm a computer science student and have a exam tomorrow, but rather watch your videos :D
Keep up the great work!
Firebolt Prod. Haha. That was me every semester of college. Why can’t they quiz us in cool stuff at school right?
@@AxelAxe I'm totally with you, man
Hey hope ya passed
@@OzoneLead I did ;)
What does GLONASS have to do with range? It's just a GPS system. It was Lightbridge that increased the range with the Phantom 3 Advanced & Pro
That's when you realize he doesn't know what he is talking about :-)
It means it uses the satelities from Russia as well giving a better Range and accuracy. Lightbridge is for the vids, idiots.
Indy Mogul popped into my head randomly after like 10 years and I'm so happy to see Eric is back
Great work guys. I am hooked with the History Deep Dive series.
Great to see Erick back, he is the best!
Great to have you back, Erik!
That was a great look at how far DJI has come in such a short time. Entertaining too. Thanks!
woodycarr for real. A few years ago those shots were crazy to get. The moment that Inspire 1 cane out it was like game over.
Yes! Finally a video about some DJI Drones :)
Very few companies innovate as consistently year over year as DJI. It’s crazy how far they’ve come!
The Enthusiasm Project no kidding. Wonder when they are going to release their own camera.
Awesome video Eric, love the thorough breakdown and timeline....I too purchased and still use the original Mavic Pro...
This was one of the most slick, informative and genuinely clever presentations I've ever seen. Quite brilliant!
Give this man more job.Love this guy
Most reliable drone company out there!!!
Yep, fun to watch. Loving the new format
I love this series!
That was great video. Very informative and entertaining. I am new to drones just purchased my first DJI Mavic Air. Loving it.
I’d listen to Erik talk about anything in all honesty
Yes the
"Robot Selfie Stick" or the
"CoolSelfieInator"
All the different DJI models always confused me, this genuinely helps!
The comedy on this channel is ON POINT
Dji were making drones, while Eric was making lightsabers back in 2007, just give it a thought.
And now he is a jedi master 😎😎😎😎

"Erick Beck - A Very Convincing Manikin" nice.
Awesome vid.....
Nice job but you missed the P4Pro, P4Pro+, P4Pro V2.0 etc :)
Matrice 200, Zenmuse, Ronin, MG, Osmo, and more recently the digital FPV system. So much missing in this video, and it all very surface level stuff
and mavic pro platinum
Great, entertaining and complete video!...any news on how the future looks for in 2019 onwards?
Love these deep dives!
Im sitting here next to my DJI Mini 3 Pro, which cost less than the Phantom 1, with so many features in under a decade added it's truly amazing
I just need to say this... Erik, I love you.

Can’t wait for a DJI skynet Mavic T 800 drone with an heavy Austrian accent!
Come on DJI let it happen 👍
Loving this series 😂🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
freaking inspiring
I remember when I first saw a dji drone on Indy mogul!!!! 😱
Superb video!
Funny yet entertaining
Thanks that was fun
From 25 minutes of flight time on the Phantom 2 all the way up to 27 minutes flight time on the Phantom 4. Simply Awesome Development, simply awesome.
It's hard to make a battery better without making it bigger...
F450 flamewheel, and S800 evo should have been mentioned, because both are important steps to the future drones.
I film in my workshop, greenscreens workshop backdrop in....

KoishikAhmmad for sure. DJI came out of nowhere and they swallowed GoPro.
I had fun watching you... Specially the Profanity😄😄😄😄
wow you r great Errric.
You missed couple not so important phantom variants but Phantom 4 Pro is too important to skip. They were able to manage to cramp 1" censor in that form factor which is unheard of.
this is so funny, so i subscribed for dji
This is awesome. Please do Fujifilm or Godox
"They dropped the Inspire 1"....did it sustain much damage?......Hey man you're SO COOL! you are surely right down there with all the kids with the lingo and everything....why, you are in fact an Xennial! Whassup?
We need an update of this video featuring the Mavic Mini 😎

Make more dude Davinci, dji, next arri
Cool video
Great video. Best part, you are hilarious. Oh yeah, I have a mavic air. It's awesome
I need to get one for my videos and tutorials
I Want an air so bad. I really want a Mavic 2 pro but I've never flone a drone rated for outdoor use really. So i think the air is a good spot to start.
Thanks. Very informative. One thing: why not leave the beep sound and foul words out. Better yet, why not leave the foul words out to begin with.
Great video 😂
good brother
Dude, you missed the flame wheel, the Naza, the Wookkong, the S800, and so much more. This was at best a shallow dive. :(
And to a lesser extent, the Phantom 4 RTK and v2.0 aswell as the Mavic Pro Platnium
I love my future Tello
Their biggest strength was marketing that made many people assume it was an American made drone.
And the mavic 2 zoom?
Get it know...
That ending haha
Drones are one of those things that I’m just not sure I can justify at this point, but damn do I want one haha.
Nate and Noah Try Life maybe get a used Mavic??
Awesome storytelling style LOL
Why didn't you guys talk about the ronin's ?
OK, that was fun...and I don't even use drones...
OK, But you did not address my conspiracy theory.. That is every time I upgrade to a new DJI product, within three days they will release a newer version of that product.
Hilarious commentary by the way. 😂
6:47 watter???
#Da-Jiang Innovation:The future of Possible😃
Mantap bro salam kenal 👍✌️
What about the mavic mini?
Like really?
What about yuneec drones.
I didn't know this whole episode was shot on a green screen lol tried to figure out how they managed to do the shot when he says "much much bigger". Well now I know:)
Is that a new rendition of "The Running Man?"
How did you know I wear cargo shorts? Are you spying on me? Are you watching me now?
What? The inspire 2 was release on november, months later Than the phantom 4
Andres Gómez Orea and has obstacle avoidance, too.
Forgot S800 :( Also Ace one and Flame wheels
But great video non the less!
My phantom 2 maybe could fly for 12 minutes. Nothing close to 25. To their credit, I don't think they actually claimed that kinda flight time.
DJI Tello??

Look on into DJI fpv drone
No love for the Tello
KNEED?
there is also DJI tello
you miss Phantom 4 adv and PRO
ryze tello
Where is tello
well in China, alot of people call Dji a " military company in disguised" with robomaster and tello
¿Qué? The inspire 2 fue lanzado en noviembre, meses más tarde que the phantom 4
I wish i had a drone
Every time my Mavic Air takes off, it faces me and says, "I'll be back." before flying off. It's all beginning to make sense...
Ok, but your deep dive is missing how their customer support is TERRIBLE. Like, ruin your hardware with their pushed firmware update then make YOU pay to fix it kind of bad.
That’s everything we knew already. I was hoping for more insight.
aerial
Thumbs up at the moment laser pew pew came up.
thinking of buying a spark fly more
Surprised you didn't mention the LIDAR and thermal cameras that the new Mavics can come with.
Bit disappointing.
You spelled “Aerial” wrong in your video... this isn’t the Little Mermaid. 😂
