WTC updated their FAQ today to allow Aquilons to use Grenade even after they shoot their Servo Sentry on the drop I disagree with this ruling but I will be playing by it, and I recommend you check the FAQ because there are a few other notable changes in it that will be affecting tournament play
Man I can say they, are insane and pretty OP in terms of what they offer had a good competitive the other day and man they did not disappoint. Grenades plus these guys 3 inch Deepstrike is insane for assassinate and just In General
Hey welcome to the Guard! The servo sentry HAS a model that's used for Kill Team, but in 40k it's currently just a token to represent which gun the sergeant is equipped with, so I don't use the model They're like Drones in Tau if that's helpful
I don't know how viable it is, I've been chewing on is having a highly mobile "Chrono Trooper" flanking force composed of Sions/Aquilons, Gaunt's, and a Callidus Assassin. Basically dropping in Aquilons to create the space to drop in Gaunt's, etc. to finish the job. Once the job is done pick up the main units and hopefully redeploy the Tempestus unit. I haven't tested this yet though.
Seems interesting! Kinda tough to pull off consistently because it's a significant allocation of resources, but sounds potentially devastating if you can crumble a flank!
They are not broken. they are cheap, yes, but they are fragile and don't have real shooting. They have good secondary firepower, not anything better than 10 regular guardsmen. Three inch deepstrike is what they bring. What makes them good is everything else guard has for support. (orders,FoF, withering hail, lethal hits, ect.) I do like the six pistol load out, it can help clear a unit out of combat, and will remind you never to rely on their firepower. The sniper rifle is useless. no volume.
I feel like this is pretty self-contradicting no? 3" deep strike is one of the best rules in the game and we don't even have to pay CP for it If Aquilons are so fragile, what's the point of optimizing their loadout for surviving a round of combat?
@@Joushi40k 3" is one of the best abilities and what I was trying to convey is that is really all we get out of them, and that is good, not great. what makes it great is the rest of guard support. like you said, reinforcements is one of the best for them. The loadout I was referring to, I wouldn't consider optimized, but a useful niche. Using the pistols to help clear a vehicle out of combat from a screen unit. The loadout doesn't require the unit to live, they never will. I have already heard players of other factions complaining about them, and I don't want to lose the unit to points increases like bullgryn. I keep saying if they don't like ours, they should run theirs instead of running to GW with ranked volley emails. Love your stuff man.

Excellent video as always

Classic case of undercosting a new model to push plastic.
I’m disgusted and appalled by the unit, but fantastic video as always.
New AM player here! A few questions:
What is the Servo Sentry?
Is this a separate model?
Or a model attached onto the unit leader?

I just like watching other faction players absolutely mald about them.

Oh God. We have returned to 4th ed. Turn 2 keep the enemy in there zone. 😮
did this to Ragmuk :)
unless you can game the bgryns out of their consolidation its not a good of a strat as it seems
eh it's context dependent
not being able to shoot the way you want is WAY better than it being dead

Blessed is the mind too small for doubt.
