Occasionally I come back and watch this hoping he makes that 50th rep
legit me😭
lol
Almost had it too
My OCD strikes hard looking at that number lol
if you put ur trust and faith in Jesus and beleive He died for ur sins and repent from your sins, you will be saved from hell and go to Heaven, being a good person wont get u into Heaven, only Jesus can save you.
The guy that had to go after him was probably thinking "Damn."
Lol I can imagine
well its lineman day at combine so they will all likely put up 30+

And people think Rugby players are weak. This kid grew up plying rugby in the islands...
Joedagg4 people say rugby players are weak?
The fact that he was 5 inches max from getting 50 is just astonishing
Impressive but doesnt lock out any of his reps.
@@spermwhale8236 he literally does look at his elbows 😂
Goes to show 5 inches is more than enough
@Maven Guitar AMEN brother!
So this is why he has 99 strength on his base card in MUT

@@CTC_28 Just stop with this nonsense... 🙄
i wish he can lift my grades up like that
bro fr
If each rep was 1% higher on my grades than I would be a straight A student lmao.
This man lifted my 1 rep max 49 times lol.
Update* I basically quit weights. I mostly do calisthenic work outs with weighted vests, ankle straps etc. I feel great.
You need to start eat meat alot more, everyday 3 pounds of it.
Yeah but the guy is around 300 pounds. 225 is way too easy for a guy that trained and with that bodyweight.
@G S How muchj do you weigh? It makes a difference, especially with the bench press.
Stregth is relative, a 150lbs guy benching 225 is much more impressive than a 300lbs guy benching 225.
@@normvlqtte6512 I weigh 165 and my PR is 205 right now. I don't think I'll get much higher unless I gain weight (which is hard for me with super fast metabolism)
"That's it son. Oh yeah. I like that"
*powerful thrusting*
lol
but can he do 49 pounds 225 times?
1Lifeonearth
Probably with extreme ease. It's easier to lift lighter weights multiple times than a higher weight 1 time.
Tony Zan Is it?
elCheesemonkey of course.
Test it yourself. Lift 100 lbs of 5 times. Lift 5 pounds 100 times. Lift 50 lbs 10 times. Lift 10 pounds 50 times.
Tell me which is easier. You will find that it's much easier to lift the lighter weights more times then it is to lift heavier weights with less reps.
99% people can't lift 500 pounds one time.
Most people cant lift 1lb 500 times
Jose M yes you can it's very easy
Cleanest reps I’ve ever seen at a combine. Great job!
He didn't lock out once and was bouncing. If it was black athlete he would have been given multiple warnings
@@solshields just amazing you bring up race lmao, actually amazing

@@solshields I guess you’re an expert who’s been to the combine and spots these players? I’m sure you definitely know better than them? Acting like you know someone’s job better than them? Embarrassing
He didn't lock out properly on many of those reps. Shame.
When the trainer says “ok now LETS GO TO WORK!!” I felt that
That “now lets go to work” at the last stretch the best pre workout ever
That moment when you realized he benched Julio Jones 49 times basically
im pretty sure julio height would probably change the situation
+soupkiwi345 the bar is about 7 feet taller then Julio
+Imaboss1337 I mean 7 feet. Which is taller then Julio
Except weight distribution should tell you that he can't bench another human being as easily as an even barbell.
Enigmatic SoulZ idk about that, I squatted my friend who weighs 195 easier than an actual barbell at 195

Impressive for anyone even if his strokes were short. The most I put up maybe 235 5 times maxing around 270. This dude is a beast
Benched that bar more than Larry Allen did at the strongest man competition
ChaosXGamer Larry Allen was in his 13th year when he did that
The record comes with an asterix however: *while being teabagged
Even more impressive
That is actually incredible. He should consider a career in powerlifting after his NFL prime. With that type of bench press speed power, he could break all kinds of records. Larry Allen, Pro Bowler from the Dallas Cowboys, did 43 at the NFL combine games back in 2005 (I think). He also bench pressed 700lbs raw in the weight room, which was witnessed by many of his teammates and I believe was captured on video. It wasn't a world record because it was unofficial and his spotter had his hands on the bar, but it was very impressive!
I remember they showed it on Monday night football....I was just a kid but it was amazing. Remember his buddy doing a flip over him after he did it?
Just to think Eddie Hall does 52 reps strongman makes me think this man is stronger than strong 😂
That 700 in the gym was a team lift. Those spotters had their hands all over that bar.
"WE A GOT A LIVE ONE"
Realest statement ever
Anybody that can Bench Press 75% of their weight (300 lbs guy benching 225 lbs in this case here) for over 20 reps is a BEAST!!! 30 - 40 reps is INSANE STRENGTH!!! But 49 reps??? Salute that man!
What percentage would mine be if I can bench 210 IB at 165 body weight? Because the math confused me since my lift is heavier than my weight lol
@@TWolfyG 1.27x your body weight. Even just doing that once is impressive. 75% of your bodyweight is 123.75 pounds. So this vid would be the equivalent of you benching 125 for 49 reps in one go.
@@wcc4269 thanks
I can bench 225 for 24 reps at 205lbs and I'm not an nfl lineman or player ha
"We got a live one" was perfect

As soon as he takes a breather "now let's get to work son" they got the right guy helping with the bench press.
Now i know why he has a 96 strength rating in madden 18
Jacoby he has the perfect build for the bench press
Came and watched again lol. I love the spotter. Gets me hype lol. Especially when he says now let’s go to work
Beast. In my prime my best was 17 reps. 49 is insane.
honestly i messed around and did 17 reps at the gym once...I think theres a way to train for it like doing really heavy bench before like throwing up 300pds or more and then doing 225pds so that your muscles feel like its mentally really light IDK
@@aaronthompson3454 i never trained for reps. I tried to max out my max which was 340. I tried the 225 challenge and 17 reps is what i got
Pacific Islanders are a whole different type of strong ... nicest people on the planet but the last I'd ever want to be in a fight with lol
to be fair the last 6 bench records were from 3 west africans and 3 russians
@@dannytymus5974 to be fair, how many Pacific Islanders are in this world compared to Africans and Russians? Very few. So it's a numbers game. Look at it from another perspective - compared to black and white people, there aren't many Pacific Islanders in the United States, let alone in the world. But despite their small number, take notice of how many Pacific Islanders are in the NFL. That just goes to show you that Pacific Islanders are very special when it comes to athletics. They're big, strong, durable, etc. Whites (and especially Asians) have difficulty matching up with Blacks when it comes to size, strength, and speed. But Pacific Islanders can.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3yas a So Cal native, this is true. Since youth football , the Islanders are on par and sometimes better than blacks in athleticism. Look at Long Beach Poly, Mater Dei, St John Bosco , and other California football powerhouses . Full of islanders
0:47 "Now lets go to work." How do you perform when its tough. That's football.
That’s Life. 🙏🏾
I love when you hear the guy in the back round yell " lock it out" lmao. The only ones he locked out were the ones he rested.
What are you talking bout? He damn near was throwing it in the air lol. And he didn’t bounce it off his chest for most of them like most of them do.
I rewatched it. Yeah he didn’t technically lock out quite a few lol. But hey, still impressive
@@ayechillout4050 man that’s still a rep.. yal go and make a video hitting half as many lol
If you can hear the weight clanking at the top then it's a lock out. The air exhorting from your elbow and shoulder joints allow this to happen. He's using momentum from touching his chest and coming down equally as fast making it all one fluent motion. When you start to stop at the top it decreases the mobility from that momentum that you created. So when they're saying "lock it out" they're probably jealous or don't understand that this guy is doing it as fast as possible as efficiently as his body is capable of.
Larry wheels - hold my juice box
“Now it’s time to go to work!”
that's literally PERFECT form...
DonCorleone87 bounced it off his chest, no leg drive, barely any arch- that is NOT good form
That is just unbelievable

Fadey Suleiman played like3games then retires lol welcome home hahaha
Just watched a video of Brian Shaw (4x world strongest man) doing 44 reps of 225 with no pre-training for it and doing chest the previous day. He a beast. Robert Oberst did 42. Crazy!
GoodolMatt Brian's sounded like a god damn printing press going wild
That's nothing, I listen to Justin Beiber's whole album once.
dj87865 id rather try one bench press while eating a broken bottle than listen to one beeber song
I ate a bowl of nails for breakfast
With no milk
The music at the end so nostalgic
It’s legit a great spotter
That’s what you want from your spotter work out partner. Right in your face screaming at you making sure you push everything you have
Just wish these guys went to chest AND locked out for it to be official.
The guy spotting knew from how he shot that weight up on the first 2 reps he was about to put up a serious number
Maybe they should switch the weight from 225 to 315. The rep range that these guys are doing is so high that I'm wondering if their muscle has to start to use aerobic processes, which is not what's usually tested in the bench press.
315 is a different dimension
Look at you trying to sound smart 😂
no.
@@Kizdo69 What's your opinion on which weight would be better used as a test for NFL players?
@Kevin Mahaffey Well in my opinion they should have personalised weights. For some players 225 is probably not optimal and for others it might be the right amount. It depends on the individual player - their height, weight, build, position, athletic ability, strengths & weaknesses and their goals. However when they are off camera I doubt they all lift the same weight anyways
I like how say it's the record "since 2000." In 1999 Justin Ernest set the record at 51, although he was never drafted.

The league of shadows Bane i mean i hope they would it was pretty much their job. But unlike them, this guy actually has functional muscle and is a professional athlete
vinny scrudato but has he been mr olympia
profid98 no and im not sure what that has to do with anything
@@thablackchristiangrey All muscle is functional bud, most bodybuilders like them can bench 4-5 plates. The only difference is they dont train endurance so they may not be able to bench for as many reps.
Brayden Wallace yes obviously all muscle is “functional” in literal terms guy but i was referring to the fact that hes a professional athlete with athletic ability that they do not come close to possessing. Hence why they SHOULD, and obviously can, bench press more than him since his job is to be a d-lineman not a bodybuilder
It’s amazing what these players can do using actual technique
I'm over here doing 1 plate barely...
A lot of people can’t do that, especially if you’re teen. Just don’t give up you’ll never get there if you get discouraged now, use it as motivation to work harder. We’re all gonna make it bro

Y’all ever hear of Larry wheels
POWAAA!
I think Larry did 70 reps but he doesn't lock out
Larry is on dope too loll
@Bruce Leroy every elite athlete has probably used a PED. Plus Larry is both and bodybuilder and powerlifter. Powerlifting is considered to be a sport thus Larry is an actual athlete.
@Bruce Leroy Larry has said himself that he's natural
Also, if you think he's on steroids, then you don't know anything about exercising and keeping healthy lifestyle
People on steroids will grow their muscles big and watery and it is weaking.
But if you are a natural then your muscle becomes strong and hard like Larry Wheels.
So I think he is natural because he is so strong and not watery muscles. And he looks like a good man and honest. His glasses help for that too, you can tell he's a kind man. So can't be steroid user.
I know a lot about steroid, so you don't want to argument against someone you cannot win against.

Sponge . I don't like the powerlifting rules. They cheat on bench press and use straps etc on everything just to lift as much as possible but imo less weight with proper form and raw is better than a 500kg squat. Olympic weightlifting thats better imo
Casually lifting 11k lbs in a minute what an absolute beast
He will no doubt be the first pick in the draft for this accomplishment.

Very impressive. To be fair though, I think they should be more strict on form, he was bouncing the weight off his chest for a lot of them. This is most noticable for the last few reps when he started struggling. Some reps in the middle were perfect though
