  • SASQUATCH ENCOUNTER
This is one of my personal experiences while in the woods. SOMETHING very large, dark, and bipedal crossed the trail I was hunting on one evening right before dark in 2008. Was it a SASQUATCH?

Really interesting story, from what I've heard, it most possibly could be a sasquatch. But I guess that it is difficult to ever actually know.
    Awesome video as always!

Thanks brother. I never got a solid look, and frankly for a long time I always kind of joked when I would tell anyone that story and say “I don’t know what it was, could have been either a Bigfoot, a circus bear or a big poacher looking for the perfect tree.” I don’t scare easy, especially in the woods because of all the time I’ve spent in them, but that quick walk/job from the corner to my cousin was probably the most on edge I’ve even been in the woods. Even though I never got a good look, the feeling I had in the moment was pretty intense and nothing like anything I have felt in the woods before or since, even getting charged by those bears the last few years doesn’t compare to the feelings I had getting out of that quad trail.

Crazy. Bears be it a black, brown, grizz or Polar are a real potential danger in the bush. You never know how they will react to a situation. Black bears usually run off fairly easy, but they are also known to have stalked people, especially younger males. As for what ever crossed that trail, that’s freaky! Good plan getting out of there quickly while still being alert. Thanks for the upload.

Thanks! Yup, bears can be unpredictable. I had one years ago standing in the middle of the road on the way to the cabin while I was driving my old Jeep. Wouldn't move. I honked and instead of running or walking away it walked right towards the Jeep, which was the complete opposite of what it should have done. The Jeep was big, loud and had bright lights. My guess is that someone had been feeding that one from a vehicle and it got use to them, which is not good for drivers or the bear.

Thanks John. No need to thank for that, it was an honour to be part of such a great unit and was a blast serving with some great people. Made some life long buddies, learnt some pretty cool things (although really kind of wish there would have been more of a need for demolition experience in the civi world so I could have put the skills I developed to use post release).

    Thanks for sharing your story!
IMO- your level of awareness & combat readiness could be why the BF did not mess with you- that & you were not an active threat, in the process of extracting yourself from the area. BF is expert at being able to see just how aware an individual is or is not, as well as reading their intentions. Most people have wide open "windows" in their minds, allowing those who are able to not only see clearly into their thoughts, but also cloud their thoughts- or put thoughts/ideas INTO their minds they hold as their own. And-all of us have recurring blind spots in our awareness- BF is a master at taking advantage of those avenues of approach that open & close as our attentions wax & wane, focusing & narrowing on one thing or another. They can exploit these seemingly minute gaps in our awareness without fail because they are masters of perfect timing & swift silent movement.
All conscious beings have about them, a "radar" of active reason that encompasses our field of energetic influence... informing us of that which eyes & ears cannot detect... yet not everyone's reason is equally active- as some have a greater energetic potential, allowing for wider ranges and larger measures of effects on whatever they hold in their mind. And yes- the BF is well practiced at this- as, they eat, live, breath this 24-7 their entire lives, so yes... they can easily impart either dreadful or peaceful thoughts/feelings as they please- their minds are as powerful as their bodies & so can interject & overlay thoughts upon your own, disrupting our ability to think clearly & logically.
Yet- even though they are quick thinking & clever, have powerful minds that can influence all within visible proximity- they are not deep thinkers as such- so the thoughts they impart are limited in scope to basic emotions & their associated words & imagery.
So- you cruised by him without incident due to either your non-threatening yet alert state of mind or... maybe he just had to take a crap so bad he didn't give you a second thought?
Either way- you lived to hunt another day! :)

Thanks my friend. That was a really informative comment, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this.
While I didn’t get a solid look because of the distance and how fast it happened, I’ll never forget the feeling getting off that trail. Never felt that way in the woods before or since thankfully.

That must be some inherent gut instinct that hunters develop over time - the way you immediately backed out of there. You didn't feel dread, but you instantly knew that something wasn't right, and you had to get out of there! Appreciate the story!

Situational awareness. Years of hunting and military training have taught me to always pay attention to everything going on around you, and to trust your gut.

Gut instinct is something everyone is born with but any type of training definitely heightens that instinct. 9 out of 10 times your gut instinct is right and I think it’s a part of our DNA when we were still hunter gatherers and were still wild.

Just subscribed not to long ago I'm glad I did great videos. I would hate to come across these things. I love the martin groves encounter I heard on another channel coming across not just a dogman but also 2 bigfoots that would not be good. Keep up the great work

Thanks Luis. Ya that would not be a good combination to stumble upon in the woods.
