Trent was ATTACKED and almost taken by a group of FERAL PEOPLE in the Smoky Mountains while out enjoying a weekend of dirt biking and quading with two friends in 2001.
Based on their encounter, could these FERAL PEOPLE be responsible for some of the missing people in National Parks? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I have a crazy story that you may be interested in. Back in the early 2010s I went on a solo backpacking trip in late april up to cold mountain in the George Washington national forest in VA. The entire hike, I didn't hear a single animal. The whole mountain seemed silent. I made it to my first camp site, set up camp and made dinner, but I just had this really bad uneasy feeling like something was wrong.. I settled down in my tent for the night, but shortly after I did that, the temp dropped from mid 60s to below freezing in about 30 mins.. I went from feeling fine to freezing cold. Frost formed on the inside tent walls, and the hot tea I made literally froze in the cup. Then around 2am I got this sudden feeling of panic and urge to just bail and get back to my car... there was something telling me to just leave my gear since it was heavy, and as long as I got back to my car I'd be okay.. the trail was extremely steep, and if I listened to that urge, I guarantee I wouldn't have made it. I found out about the Missing 411 phenomenon years later, and found out that there is a cluster of missing person cases right in the area I was camping.. I think I may be a potential survivor of missing 411 cases. I'd be happy to give you more details if you are interested. My email is bllymcbride@yahoo.com

Some years ago, my wife and I were coming back up north after a trip down in Virginia. We were traveling through Smokey Mountain national Forest and it was just dark right after sundown.
Well, a small black bear cub ran out across the road in front of us and my wife who was driving at the time laid right hard on the brakes.
As we were watching the cub run down over the bank, a man that was filthy as anybody I’ve ever seen was dragging a tent and a sleeping bag in one hand and holding the hand of a filthy child with the other hand, came running across the road and headed right in the same direction that the bear went and completely out of sight. We sat there, absolutely stunned at what we saw. I know I’ll never forget it. I couldn’t even imagine what the hell was happening.

it is their territory. most are into self preservation. one lived in the thick woods behind my grand daddys property. his name was Hog Martin and he always carried a large feed sack. the grown people were terrified of him but us kids thought he was great. he taught us a lot about setting snares and building rabbit traps. we were all the time sneaking off to his shack but we knew to holler for him when we were about 50 ft away. he taught us how to catch and clean rattlesnakes. he could catch them by hand. we would take him things from the garden and he would give us something he had whittled. it was just the way he lived and he was good to us. we had a fort up in the woods we lived in on the weekends. we were ages 4-12 and took a .410 shotgun and a .22 rifle with us. the adults knew when they heard a shot from our way that we had dinner. Hog Martin would come and hang with us sometimes. he knew we were good shots and did not miss. saw him take out a wild hog with an axe to the head once.

    I don't know if it's worth mentioning.
(by the way, love the channel)
This was a story Teddy Roosevelt told about when he was working as a cowboy in Dakota.
He was making a trip alone from one ranch to a trading post. He had made the decision to cross as nearly close to a straight line from one to the other.
So he heads out, knowing that he'll be camping out on the prairie between the two.
As he was making his way, he crossed a stream. Not deep, but enough to obviously have fish. He saw that the tall grass was trampled around the crossing, so he assumed there was game in the area. He decided to set a trap, and continue on towards a hillock he saw like a mile in the distance.
He gets to the hillock, sets up his camp in the lee of the hill, and sets his gear out: a pan for whatever he catches, a knapsack, just regular stuff, and he then sets back out towards the stream to get his trap.
On the way to the stream, he starts to hear this low wheezing coming from the long grass, maybe thirty or so feet from him. And what interested him was that he never seemed to walk PAST it. The wheezing was always there...low, and off into the grass.
He gets back to the stream, and locates his trap. As before, the grass is trampled. But his trap has been moved. Not sprung, not even moved very far. But it's been moved.
So he takes the trap and starts heading back towards the camp. As he comes back, he keeps hearing this wheezing, but from further away. Like before, he never seems to walk past it: it's always there, just forty or fifty feet into the grass.
He gets back to the campsite, and decides to just have some beef jerky and coffee to end the day. And as he's looking for his pot, it's nowhere to be seen. His pot is missing. But in it's place is a little doll made out of grass.
So he packs up, continues on. And when he gets to the post he deliberately keeps what happened to himself: he knows that some of the folks out there still think he's a dude, so why give them more ammo, right?
As he's resupplying in the store, he sees a guy he knows come in. So he walks over, says hi, and (with a little reluctance) tells him what happened...expecting the guy to laugh at him.
And the guy just nods. "Yeah, the hairy man."
Roosevelt is a bit taken aback. "The hairy man?"
"Of course. Everyone around the area knows about the hairy man. Did he leave a doll behind?"
Roosevelt was surprised: he deliberately hadn't mentioned that part, because who would believe him? He responded that there was indeed a grass doll where the pot had been.
"Yeah, he does that. He's trading. Sometimes he messes with traps. Everyone who's been out here for awhile has a run in with the hairy man sooner or later."
The guy wasn't shocked, he said that it was an infrequent occurrence.
It never happened to Roosevelt again, but it stayed with him.

My take on it is it was an intellectually disabled hirsute man, not sasquatch (cuz I don't believe in them), living literally on the fringe of society. Still it's poignant that in his mind he believed that leaving grass dolls evened out his taking of something of another i.e. "trading".

@@pippishortstocking7913 Well you not believing does not alter the fact that they exist. Both Sasquatch and feral men as well as other strange hominids. So why does the government want to keep a lid on all of these things? Hiking, camping, national parks etc. are a multibillion $ annual business for the government. Normal everyday people would freak out if they were suddenly told “Hey folks, guess what, all that stuff you have been told doesn’t exist? Well it does”

I tell people if you are going to go camping in the smocky mountains. 90 percent of the time you are going to be safe. But make sure you always bring a gun. Never go camping/hiking alone. Always bring a dog with you. The dog will alert you to anything weird.

To my knowledge, after over 45 years of law enforcement and related fields, Tennessee citizens are not required to have carry, or concealed, permits. However Federal law prohibits the carrying of any firearms in National parks or in state parks. Another "however" is do you want to be alive and uninjured but charged with possession of a firearm?
I am not advising or advocating anyone to break ANY kind of law, city, state or federal just raising a hypothetical issue. Many laws are not in your best interest and must be flavored with common sense.
Sadly, it would seem that the most sensible thing in this day and age would be to NOT camp in any park where you are deemed to be completely defenseless against animal, or human animals. Yes, you can bring a knife or axe but how effective is either one going to be against anything capable of mortally injuring you or your family? Not very. The Smokies have bear, mountain lion, poisonous snakes, large birds of prey, and hundreds of other dangerous things to injure or kill you. Especially if you are hiking or camping on your own. I have trained and worked in some of the most dangerous countries in the world and wouid be reluctant to hike or especially camp by myself in a park like the Smokies. Also my age would make it definitely more dangerous. Knowledge without proper conditioning makes these endeavors foolish. As to firearms, their signaling capability makes them almost more valuable than as actual defensive weapons. Fire off enough shots in any park within earshot of ANYONE and the calvary will be responding. Yes, you most likely will be charged to some degree but that's a small price to pay for being alive.
I imagine you could only carry blank ammunition to signal with or frighten off an attacker but unless the firearm will only fire blanks the possibility of charges still remains. In fact, any thing that causes that much concern should probably be ignored all together.
As trained up and as experienced as I am I would not camp, on purpose, anywhere that my vehicle could not go. I do not travel light.....weapons, ammo, medical gear, food, water, body armor, super flashlights and other light sources, etc. Primitive? Not a fan even tho most of my youth spent in some degree of poor.
Sorry for rambling on, PTSD and me. Plus I have been injured to death on two occasions and I do not reccomend it.
      rick in Tennessee.

Also - I agree with the cover up. Have you heard of the Dennis Martin disappearance in the Smoky Mountains about that six-year-old boy who was never found? It's part of Missing 411 and there's a lot of suspicions concerning the investigation - from possible feral people or maybe Sasquatch.

So this topic fascinates me and I have a theory. I'm into folklore and cryptids and as far as I know so far is that there's no mention of feral people in the Native American legends, but please correct me if I'm wrong. They have a lot of legends about the big hairy men of the forest who are guardians of their natural habitat, but not feral people. I think they come from the European settlers of old who somehow got separated, lost or something, I wish I knew what, and yet managed to survive and reproduce. Kind of like the movie "The Blue Lagoon", beautiful movie by the way, but way grubbier. I think that when the government found out about them later on, after they had been reproducing for awhile, and have been studying their activity ever since. Which is alarming because these feral people are definitely responsible for some of these missing people reports. I can imagine they want men, women and children the same way we do. Maybe somehow they have retained some of their humanity or maybe quite the opposite? Maybe the government is simply observing their devolution, for "scientific research" Awful. Who knows? The American government is insane for allowing people to go missing and then covering it up. Why? What is the damned logic?! And where did they misplace their scene of morality?

The guys probably went to the police, but they should have contacted the Park Rangers. I was one for 6 years. The Rangers are usually much more in sync with what and who are living in the woods. They generally take a different approach than regular law enforcement officers would. I can tell you from experience that if alcohol or drugs were involved at all that muddies up the stories a bit and causes any officer to search for an alternative motive for the incident. But if people are very sober and have a disturbing story it WILL be investigated if there is reason to do so. In my experience there are transients living in most federal parks. Mostly they just want to be left alone. But every now and then there would be an encounter that would become physical. I always carried food and water in my vehicle and offered it first to diffuse the tension. Unfortunately there are some folks living outdoors that need meds to stay mentally balanced, and they dont have them. Just stay wary, but not scared or paranoid and keep your distance. If you are in a place that allows firearms please be aware of local laws and regs concerning their use or brandishing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to perusing more great content. Trent was very fortunate his two friends came back to check up on him. The fact Trents helmut was that damaged. Knocking him unconscious. That meant he was hit by someone trying to cause him grevious harm. I personally would not go through the Appalachian Trail. Without being armed and I would have a good sized Dog with me. As a canine will detect and let you know if something is wrong. 💪👃✨

So I used to go to the smokey mtns every year as a kid. I've hiked a lot of that area and been to the Cosby lookout. I had heard stories from people that the military would conduct exercises in the area to train snipers as kind of a shoot and release exercise. So I would always kind of be on the lookout especially off trail not to step on a guy in a gilly suit. What you said in the video about the Park Rangers saying not to report it reminded me of that. Maybe they let them live out there to conduct training. lol. Just a thought.

I heard this story a few days ago, but just cant remember from which youtube site. Anyway, after Dennis Martin went missing, the Green Beret were brought in. Many thought to search for Dennis, but no. Green Beret were brought in to clear out as many feral people. Plus their inbreed children. They ended up taking out quite a few. The FBI agent who handled Dennis Martins case, became so distraught, and was so upset over seeing all of the inbreed feral children, he couldnt handle it. Removing himself from this lifetime.
When i figure out whos youtube site told this story, i will let ya know.

@@darkwilderness2392 found it!! HELLBENT. HOLLER is the channel. They did a discussion titled:
      DARK DIVE-EPISODE 5. BACKWOODS-CULTS-FERAL PEOPLE.
I just watched the entire episode again. I would suggest watching it because they discuss a remote area they ran across in Georgia, and many bizarre situations come up. Dennis Martins case is discussed in 2 different
Sequences, like 55. Minutes in, and towards the end it is revealed about all the inbred bodies brought out that the Green berets had taken, and then the investigator taking his own life.
It's dated like 1 yr. Old, well worth listening to. Recently they have teamed up with the
SMALL TOWN MONSTERS - in the LBL, which I thought was excellent also.

If these tales be true, and there are packs of feral people running about in the mountains, they sound deranged and desperate enough to do just about anything a human is capable of doing in order to survive. They're not living by the rules of this society that's for sure. HOWEVER, if you're referring to the work of David Paulides Missing 411 cases---then no, I don't attribute those disappearances to feral park dwellers. His research and case parameters are far too specific...Human beings, feral or no, leave evidence of their presence (such as scent trails) and all those instances where Search and Rescue called in tracking dogs would find them.

    • @darkwilderness2392
      @darkwilderness2392  29 дней назад

Oh 100% not saying there are responsible for cases that fall into the Missing 411 criteria. Dave and his team from CanAM Missing Project have done a phenomenal job with profiling cases that fit into that criteria. Non missing 411 cases though, they very well cold be responsible for some.
