    I quit at buddy breathing at CRO Phase 2. I couldn't get we a good breath and would just suck up water every time being harassed...I wasn't prepared for that and my legs were also not conditioned for all of the rucking, beat down by the grinder PT. Definitely, psyc'd myself out when I was choking on water. Practice as best you can for all events. I wasn't prepared and have regrets but everything worked out for the best in the end.

      @@chrismac1507 I didn't make it but IMO follow a Navy SEAL prep guide. also, in Phase 2 we ran everywhere with heavy rucks. Get used to rucking/shuffling. Practice water confidence drills. Get your thigh, shoulders, and back muscles used to carrying a ton of extra weight. Find out what you're tested on and train for that to a T.

      @@chrismac1507 Most importantly, don’t quit. You don’t want life of regret like I have. I’m trying to make up for it now in my mid 30s. Literally take the whole task hour by hour/day by day. You’re young, it’s the best time to take that type of physical punishment. You need to dig deep and have answers for you “why?” So when your demoralized and tired beyond measure you can push through the hell. Keep it simple and move forward

    Serious question for you. I am currently Active Duty in the Marine Corps and thinking about trying to do PJ when I have about 6 months left on my contract. I am married. Since I wouldn’t have to go through BMT, how long would the pipeline be? Also, how is it being married and going through all the different training? Does your spouse get to see you at all throughout the pipeline?

    • @cheeseball4791

      Hey Chris indoc being 9 weeks your wife can choose to move out to medina area with you but at your expense . After that when you make it to Kirtland AFB , she can have the airforce pay for her to move her there and she can stay there while you TDY to all your other training like sere and airborne

  • @rachaelvines2661
    @rachaelvines2661 6 лет назад +10

    Wow I never would have guessed pushups. Is there anything worse than buddy breathing, drown proofing seems pretty scary, I guess you get used to having your arms and legs tied. What about tying knots underwater, how bad is that?

    • @Captain_Aarken
      @Captain_Aarken 6 лет назад +3

      Knots is the water pressure and remaining calm . Buddy breathing is remaining calm and aiming to help your buddy breathe . Drown proofing is relaxing and sinking to the bottom and keeping a good pace as you dolphin kick from point A to point B.

  • @HobbitHomes263

    I can think of a ton of tactics to keep the trainer away. Don't go into the pool to fret about breathing. GO into the pool with the intent to EMBARASS the trainer. DEFEAT your trainer. Leave him frustrated and angry

    Arnt they getting rid of indoc and extending BA prep?

    • @Captain_Aarken
      @Captain_Aarken 6 лет назад +5

      No BA Prep will remain the same . They are expanding class size from 100 to 150 . Also they are changing to a new Indoctrination course called AnS . 4 weeks long then you go to Indoc but it will not be the same as it is now . The intensity will be brought down and indoc will be shorter . AnS will combine PJ , CCT , and SOWT . After that they go their repected ways . This is the plan for the class after next.

He provides a wealth of knowledge, much like Brian here, about succeeding throughout indoc, and has quite the archive of videos that would help to answer many of the common, and not so common, questions of the pararescue lifestyle - career. Relating to this video, a playlist of "how to" videos can be found on his channel showing proper form for many of the exercises practiced through indoc. Hope this helps.
