19 days til basic. Been a long journey to this point. This video couldn't have dropped at a better time. Sit-ups are my biggest weakness followed by running. Appreciate all this
Thank you for this bro. This is really going to help me out at bmt. I like the fact you showed us a diagram for the age and times you need to pass cause I'm a little older than most people at bmt. Thanks a lot! 😊
At bmt you'll have to do the full 1.5 mile. Since you've had past injuries its important to train hard but also listen to your body. Do not ignore the signs your body will give you. What helps with knee injuries is strengthening the muscles surrounding your knee.
Really appreciate the video! I have 39 days till bmt and I’ve been training upwards of two months now. Not a lot of people go into depth about this part of bmt, and im glad I found someone that meets my needs. I noticed you stated that you got a 99 on the test. I was wondering what you started out with, like your push ups sit ups and run time. I’m really trying to get Warhawk and I don’t know how much I will be able to improve while I’m in bmt. Right now my scores are: Push ups: 59 Sit ups: 50 1.5 mile: 8:59 I’m also wondering how common it is for people to achieve Warhawk as I might also try to go for top male PT
There are videos on my page where I film my practice test. Check them out! My form and running just got better through repetition. I think during BMT I had a motivational boost to just be the best in the flight and I was willing to run till failure. Warhawk award did not exist when I went through, they unfortunately took it away before I got there. I don’t know if they brought it back or not
@@TheWealthyWarrior_ Any tips on running? I suck at it but Im starting to run longer and longer. I’m ab 25% BMI but I’m way better at sit-ups than anything
Can you get in depth with the crunches? I don’t comprehend you saying that your shoulder blades are touching but I can’t see it. Shipping out on the 23rd.
For how many pushups in a minute is it fine to stop for a break and continue? Or does it have to be continuous in that minute? Like if I can only do 13 which takes 20 seconds or something then is that my count even though I haven’t hit 1 minute yet?
Are sit ups done on mats? There’s a difference between doing them on hardwood/concrete vs a gym mat. Hard ground puts pressure on my spine. I can get up to 80 otherwise
I just got accepted to AFROTC and my first PT test is in August. I started with 5 pushups and it increased to 10 clean pushups. I can’t do more than 10. I can do 30 situps. I am 28 and very worried about it.
It’s solely based on your max. So you have to max out once it gets easy to get the new number. Once you get the new number break it down by 3 and repeat the process.
going all the way down is harder and slower, even if its easy for you to do. I believe its like that in the test so you can get the required reps in the time. I pass the number of reps going all the way down just incase though.
@@amarag3283the hamr run has been around for a couple of years. Maybe a little longer. They just don't let you do the "alternate" events in basic. You have to do the pushups, situps and 1.5 mile run while at basic. Once you're passed basic and tech school, then you can choose the events you want to do.
Step one: be able to do an pushup. Step two: two working legs, you'll need them to walk the mile. Step three: make sure you have a comfortable chair for the sit-down portion of the test. Step four: warm your thumbs up so you can max out your typing score while bragging to your buddy in the army about how good your food was last night. Congratulations on passing!

1 min run 1 min walk for 2-3 miles is great for complete beginners
What does this technique do? Like help with lungs/endurance?

There’s a new version of the PT test right? Could you go over those ?
Yes I will, but it’s not available to you if you’re going to BMT (just fyi)
Is the running part of the test about speed or do you pass as long as you complete the 1.5 mile?
Speed. The faster you complete it, the more points you will gain.
You need to finish it at a minimum of 13:30 to pass
Thanks for the tips. I leave for basic in 5 weeks! For the sit-ups, are we allowed to have someone hold our feet/ ankles during the test?

You can take a rest but you have to be in the up position when resting.
67 push-ups in a minute is impossible!
It’s not push yourself
@@randomcomment262 It is impossible. You slow down the more push-ups you do.

1.5 mile/ shuttle run
you def gon need a medical waiver for that

Do u need to do swimming test in airforce??
There’s no swimming! Unless you go special warfare
I go to the gym to run and only run for 20 minutes is that good? or at least how many minutes should I be running to pass my pt running portion?
Running for 20 mins is plenty! 2-3 times per week is plenty. Just make sure you can pass the PT Test for your age!
I don’t know why but I can’t do a push up properly. My butt is up in the air. 😢
Focus on tightening your core and but and that should help you with your form
Did they drop the hamr run?

when i was in bmt you weren't allowed to choose the new variations . but since im operational now , i get to choose
