It would've been the perfect weapon for Pierson to have
We should have unlocked it from a Pearsson quest 😢
why cos he was navy
@@cigarette2115well yea.
@@cigarette2115 yeah, it makes sense, although he was only a cook, it would make sense. He'd still buy one, but he won't use it much
@@cigarette2115 Back then they didn't call it a "navy" or "army" because of its' usage in wars or by the military. The usage of the term "navy" or "army" is to describe the caliber used
Arthur Morgan: *buys a gun*
NPCs near the store: "Something is wrong, I can feel it."
The Navy Revolver & the Remington 1858 should've both been added.
1860 Colt as well.
Remington 1875 as well. Seth Bullock’s gun from Deadwood.
@@alswearengine4867 Yes, yes, yes why havent they added this gun holy fuck
@@phip-rx4uv they’re too lazy to work on the game they abandoned this one for, lol. We’re lucky we have what we have.
@@alswearengine4867 Damn I hope they at least do an next gen upgrade
Because they want use to keep playing online if they put it in story mode we won't play enough of online anymore
If they want us to play online they can just add some content, like every other damn company. Just remember all of this and how they treat people when they will anounce gta 6. Remember to don't buy it and just jack sparrow it, and spread the word. That's the only thing you can do against all those companies treating you like s*** but being nice when a new product is out.
Online sucks this navy revolver should be in any western
@@eduardoguinda1431you will buy day one guarantee, no one's going to take a stand against these companies, and why should they? it's just a video game.
Its fkin retarded, they're fun nazis. Years and years later they still refuse to change anything in story mode. Bullshit because this game had so much potential. They at least could have added director mode for story mode .. rdr2 online is so fkin garbage.. they added Lemat revolver but not the navy one... cmon ffs. Also why not add elephant gun too.. like nobody wants to play gta 5 anymore its a garbage, out dated pos. This game they tried so hard to make it realistic to the point where it's not realistic. Barely any npcs casually having fights, law system broke since day 1, out in the fkin desert with no one around I shoot a guy in self defense and get wanted like wtf
Why they abandoned online
I love the theory that Arthur HAD a navy revolver before it either broke or was lost in the black water massacre, so he grabbed the nearest gun which was a Cattleman, and started using that.
Arthur also hold a Schofield in the cover art and trailers
@@Bugplanet8840 Is it canon tho? I hope the trailers r canon.
Arthur wasn’t present at the ferry during the failed heist, he was with Hosea elsewhere.
Then how did Boadicea die? and if the navy revolver theory is correct, how’d he lose/break it?
@@Gingersnap_Adventures Boadicea was lost or died at some unspecified point before the events of the game, maybe a little bit after the Blackwater Massacre, since Arthur and Hosea were elsewhere.
I had hope that they add this gun in story mode, but rockstar being rockstar they never will
they might go back to updating the game when gta 6 comes out but i doubt it
@@lewisollerenshaw5766Yeah, with "Enhanced" version or rather to say, ported PC version with 2 options.
They still haven’t added shit to GTA 5 story mode since the Ill gotten gains part 2 what makes you think they would add something to story mode in RDR2?
@@Chicken_Wing91 nothing man, nothing
@@eddu.ttavares i know it sucks though lol i used the Navy revolver with mods and Rockstar is making a dumb move
It’s such a cool gun man, this one and the Lemat are my favorite standard revolvers.
The LeMat was a favorite of J.E.B. Stuart who served as an officer in both the U.S. (prior to the Civil War) and the Confederate Cavalry. I believe he was a Brigadier General when he was killed in action.
The Lemat is the GOAT lol
I would’ve settled for Lowries navy revolver in story mode. Sure you can’t make it look the way you want, but at least you’d have the navy revolver.
SIR HOW DO U GET IT???
@@jimlahey627still waiting 😢
@@jimlahey627only online

@jasper7714 yeah I did ALL of that then didn't release he said it wasn't in story mode I did all that for nothing lmao
that revolver is darker than the line at kfc
imagine waiting like a full 30 seconds for arthur to, in the heat of combat, put a cap on each cylinder and prime each round. knowing rockstar it'd have the added effect of "fuck I dropped one" and making arthur redo a cap, or an accidental chainfire
wouldn't it be basically the same as the Lemat's reload?
Being a huge fan of The good, the bad and the ugly, i got very disappointed this gun weren't a part of the game, though rare, most of the Navy's that remained in use at that time were modded to hold cartridges.
Lot of westerns used the colt navy, not just the Dollar Trilogy, buncha revolvers could've been added, but no one ever recognizes the Thuer Conversions for Colt
@@earnem4175 Even European versions of revolvers and rifles could have been added, considering the migration out of Ireland, Scandinavia, France, Mexico (Spanish) Canada and England. Like the Ross-Rifle, Fusil Gras, Jarmann, Bar-hammers, Webley-Bently, Martini's etc. I do get that all of these different weapons doesn't add much difference to the ones already in the game, but for geeky reasons would be nice.
@@birdsteak9267 Damn, thats a good point too, a good one
@@earnem4175 Yeah, they would be extremely rare in US, but the point of collectables is to have something special, the different skins, all in all just the same weapons. Forza Horizon, a lot of cars there is just there for the fun factor, no one would Race them but people do drive them in the open world, like the weird tiny 3 wheelers, why? Because why not! It's collectables that can be fun to use and can add value to what collectables overall represent.
Agree@@birdsteak9267
i wish there would have been a spiringfield musket or some other percussion musket from the civil war
gta 5 has a musket but not rdr2 lmao
sameee, a blunderbuss would be dope too. we needed more civil war era weapons, especially percussion revolvers
@@decriper1097 that's tragicc
Funniest thing is in New Austin u can find gun parts from Civil law that look like huge rifles like blunderbuss@@decriper1097
I believe this would have been the slave owners old civil war pistol but they instead had an error and made that weird flintlock pistol for story instead
Edit: Percussion Cap Pistol
Yea that would make sense seeing how Arthur/John calls it a revolver when he first sees it.
Then again, it could just have been the VAs playing into the "ignorant cowpoke" stereotype..
And the icon for the broken pistol in Arthur/John's satchel is a busted up navy revolver@@RatGangisMYusername
@@Qualtered oh I never noticed that, I'll have to take a look my next play thru
Well seeing as the LeMat was literally a confederate (albeit incredibly rare) officer revolver I’d think It’d be that one.
Im pretty sure.that was a caplock and not a flintlock pistol
I actually have an old 1861 Colt Navy. Beautiful gun; I just need to get it cleaned up. The hammer is rusted shut, otherwise I would totally take it out shooting a couple times.
Same, bought mine for 200$. Sadly the hammer is broke and has trouble staying cocked back, otherwise id have shot it already.
This is why I can’t sleep at night
Rockstar never ceases to fail and shiiii on red dead fans
Greatest game ever to me I would have spent countless money on story mode add ons. Weapons missions horses etc. Rock star gave us nothing.
Just like always @@samuelrodriguez1314
@@samuelrodriguez1314it's like the disappointment with refusing to add anything on GTA V story mode it's irritating
Hell, they’re currently whining about having to work full-time on GTA VI. The game they abandoned this for in the first place. Sad!
@@alswearengine4867 they’re upset that they have to go back to the office to work on the game instead of staying at home to work on it. Funnily enough, their work would be allot better considering how feedback and teamwork would be allot better in an office than at home, and all the leaks Rockstar went through wouldn’t have happened either.
i feel like it wouldve been great to find on some of the lemoyne raiders, given their civil war mindset, and the time and location of the game
Because the Navy revolver is a cap and ball revolver, and the setting in the beginning of the game is 1899, which is way past when the cap and ball became obsolete compared to cartridge revolvers. And when you’re in a gunfight, you’re gonna want to reload quick. Sure, you could always convert it into fire cartridge rounds, but by then, there have already been many improved revolvers created, such as the Schofield, and the Single Action Army.
I get that but they added the Lamat , a colt navy is more reliable and a lot more common to see even by that period and it would be cool maybe to have had it be loaded by paper carriages and percussion caps then maybe a option to convert it to cartridges for a speedier reload as a upgrade
especially since its a staple in westerns. i never actually liked the navy, the saa was my favorite but ever since watching good, bad, and ugly i was like "actually... that would look real nice with classic gunslinger arthur" and now the navy and saa are kinda tied for my favorite gun lol
It would've been the best reward for capturing Lowry. The latest season of Fargo also made me wish they added the 1875 Remington, which I've seen sporadically in Westerns.
Like a few of the other weapons such as the Volcanic Pistol, the Navy Revolver was obsolete by the time the game takes place, and in Red Dead Online; especially since that, for some reason, it's not the cartridge-converted variant.
(It looks cool though, can't deny that)
Wasnt navy revolver added ro rdr online after an update for both gta and rdr online since you need to complete a collectibles mission in gta online to get it in rdr Online?
I think they wanted to promote the Halloween event in rdo because you can only obtain it when doing that mission
Stupid how it's in that but not sotory

it looks exactly like Sweet Revenge from New Vegas bounties
Uncle, Pearson, and hosa all would have carried this revolver if it was in story mode. Uncle cause it was probably the gun he would have bought when he left home. Pearson, from his time in the navy and hosa because of his age and the way he wore his revolvers, grip forward, which was a common way to carry these revolvers by cavalry and early western gunmen like wild bill.
Bro ı have all these wepons in story mod but öne problome is why rock star din't edit the offline mod this wepon
The elephant gun should defo be available for story mode
I would like the Navy in story mode as well. But I also think that cap and ball revolvers (both the Navy and the Lemat) should have a much (much) lengthier reload time; maybe not fully realistic, but at least something slightly longer than the current animation. Those guns were not meant to be reloaded in the middle of a fight.
The other solution would be to have the Navy be a cartridge conversion.
I always thought it was weird that the (arguably) most iconic gun of the "wild west" is the very first "cattleman" or Colt SAA. Would make more sense that you start out with cap and ball old style guns like the Navy and then over time unlock the Schofield and Peacemaker. Maybe that's just me.
Dude , that thing is ginormous .It is not an 1850 Navy , it is a Walker .
It's a navy. The ramrod and barrel are the wrong shape for a Walker. It seems more like a slightly oversized 1851 Navy instead of the Walker or Dragoon.
some of the guns in rdr2 are a little big compared to irl, ig this is no exception
The Colt Navy was a cap and ball revolver that was obsolete and out of production for 25+ years in 1899, it was replaced by the Colt Army which we know as the Cattleman. Despite it's size the navy fired a relatively puny round compared to the army revolver.
It is however one of the most beautiful guns Colt ever made. Second only to the 1860 Army IMO
The cylinder is also wrong on this gun because that's a black powder cylinder and if it were to fire actual cartridges then it would need a conversion cylinder like a Richards-Mason
But it fires black powder in game though, not cartridges
I think the main problem is it got what i call the earthbound treatment, or operation rainfall/last story treatment.
The problem with how Rockstar badly handled the red dead online, is simply due to "pour advertising management and fandom attention, much like the JRPG genre in general their have been many instances where jrpg games either got a late or out of order release into the u.s. market, and due to a lack of advertising or westerners simply not being aware of it, ala last story, operation rainfall, the numbers don't hit the way the company expects it too, therefore they assume their is a lack of interest in the content.
Now don't get me wrong, red dead redemption 2 sold insanely well and is loved by both GTA fans and non GTA fans alike, however; I think the main issue is, that a number of gta online players had been playing gta online for much longer as it released in 2013, as opposed to the 2018 release of rdr2 online, therefore I think many of the gta fanbase quickly went back to gta online, as they had steady and hard communities their, and constant story updates due to Rockstar pouring most of it's work into gta 6 and the already money making gta online, they seldom did much for rdr2 online, and therefore what little fan base it had, quickly dwindled, thus cementing their belief that it was a failed project, much like how Japanese game devs treat western releases, if they don't do as well as the eastern release their deemed a failure and their cancelled or the next entry simply does not make it to the western shore, so Rockstar, probably didn't see the profitable return they hoped for, and had to go back to providing for the sources that where making them the most money, not to mention, since GTA 6 is in the pipeline, they probably want to drum up as much grand theft interest as possible.
What wouldve been cool is if there was like a new collectible strand for Pearson (stuff for cooking and whatnot) and afterwards he gives you his navy issued revolver
Really wish it could be in story mode. Would honestly have more fun with it there.
I know but yet they add the volcanic dude that thing wasn’t even popular at all
It might simply be how realistically in 1899 the use of a navy revolver would be very outdated and online isn’t about the realism
Yet they added the lemat and volcanic
THE outlaw revolver, in so many iconic movies. and its not in story... that is honestly a crazy mistake on rockstars part such a missed opertunity
Same reason why they didn’t add that M1999 pistol in online mode
It's especially sad, cause design wise, it is my favorite revolver.
Agree. And when it finally came online they made long barrel version witch did not exist. Only a replica
As the years go by, the more I come to terms with the fact that while the developers and community of RDR2 have immense passion for the game, the executives at Rockstar likely only viewed this game as something that would keep us occupied until GTA 6 is released and nothing more. As big as RDR2 is, it is still unfinished with many areas and mechanics clearly meant to be accessible yet they are not (Mexico being the biggest example). I am damn near certain this is due to executives stepping in during the development phase and saying, "Guys, it's just a stupid cowboy game. Finish what you got so we can release this. We need you back on GTA!".
Idk, they still manage servers hotfix as much as they can, for someone who’s kinda in the line of work that’s a couple thousand a month maybe in the 5 digits.
Hopefully everyone is focused after gta6 the teams would split.
Could be just a technical issue they can't fix. Similar to the bathtub in beecher's hope, there is probably a reason behind it.
It would've been cool that they had the navy revolver be a special or legendary weapon you'd find on the map
I never understood why they didn’t add the Buffalo rifle
I suspect that players in online can get pretty tanky at higher levels so they made the navy revolver kind of overpowered, but kept it out of story mode in order to not break balance
Well because the navy revolver came with an update in the onlune ling after the release of both single player and online life many other guns or features that don't exist in the single player mode.
"oh-"*BANG*
Same reason you wouldn't choose a flintlock
Because it is almost impossible to make the reload anime comparable with other revolver, it using black powder loading instead of using bullets.
They have it in online though
The navy revolver is pretty overpowered if you learn how to use it properly. I've been able to solo other players by sniping them with dual revolvers, and it slaps
I like how the guy at the end died in 15 fps
Unless that Navy was converted to shoot 38 Special, I could never fathom the thought of using cap and ball black powder firearms when center-fire cartridge guns began to rule the west. The tedious reloading and maintenance will get a man killed quicker.
it looks cool
The same reason why we don’t have the M1899, the devs are too lazy to do something that simple.
We do have that gun in story what are you on?
shouldve added the winchester 1894
I presume the reason why the Navy Revolver was excluded from Story Mode is because Rockstar had made exclusive Red Dead Online weapons available in Story Mode after the PC release and because Moonshiners came out after that Rockstar just decided "nah we'll just leave future RDO dlc weapons exclusive to RDO"
Much similar to how Rockstar had made GTAO DLC items available in singleplayer but after a certain point just decided to ignore story mode
Laziness
It sounds the best too
cause they had insane deadlines
Bro, whatever you did to the metal makes it look like it was dunked in a can of paint and hasn’t dried
There's a lot of guns that existed in the 1890s that shouldve been in the game.
I personally understand why they didnt pretty easily. They didnt add it for the some reason literally nothing got added into story mode. Singleplayer got no updates other then bugs why expect this gun to be any different?
They didn't? I could never find it, and just figured I was a massive noob as I am with this game already. We deserve it after dealing with Lowry! It was also a missed opportunity for them to add the 1875 Remington.
What mod did you use for the navy revolver
it is THE quintessential outlaw revolver in my opinion
i never understood why they never added ANYTHING to story mode
And I never understood why only the online component keeps getting updated.
Its a cap and ball gun, and brass has been around now for more than 30 years
Time-wise it would be inaccurate, gameplay-wise it would be suicide to reload a cap and ball 6 shooter
Its possibly beacause the Navy Revolver was in service till 1851-1873 and story mode wants to be historicaly accurate and it is realy accurate
Oh common you know it's bullshit, we got god damned LeMat and that gun was on a limited run, and out of production by 1865, Additionally it's THE western gun everyone knows and recognizes, there is no reason for it not to be in the game other than Rockstar wanting to monetize of every single asset they released.
People in the West and East would still have owned and used Navy Revolvers up until the 1900s.
It was readily available, cheap and could safely hold 6 shots as opposed to the single actions 5.
It would have been completely historically accurate to see Navy Revolvers
That wouldn't make any sense considering the lemat revolver would not have been common at since it was a prototype along with just about all the semi auto pistols in the game
@@The1Floydhe sa can hold 6, people only loaded 5 because it was way safer to have an empty cylinder incase it goes off unexpectedly when it's caught on something
@@Elbowbanditest2003 Yeah, I typed safely hold 6.
SA can safely hold 5.
i can get the navy revolver like the golden revolver and stone hatched by online rewards?
I'll never understand why they did half the shit they did like abandoning the game
Heard a rumor when RDR comes to ps5 we would get more exclusives
i guess they didn't add it because it was considered an old weapon, RDR2 takes place in 1899 while the Colt Navy was created in 1851. Still, it would be cool to have one in story mode
The actual reason is simply that Rockstar doesn't care about single player. Including the Colt Navy was an afterthought that came later when they were working on Online, so they weren't gonna add it to single player. Of course, Arthur and John became outlaws towards the later half of the Old West era, so it kinda makes sense that the guns they use are all from the 1870's-1890's. It wouldn't necessarily make sense for them to use a gun that was from before their time.
That is too big to be considered a navy. I like to imagine it's the rdr version of the walker revolver.
Literally a RE4 Handcanon
it's so black, it almost looks like the textures are glitched
The same reason they don't give us the drip of online for Arthur
GTA 5: first time?
Because Rockstar always abandons singleplayer and only focuses on multiplayer after launch. that;s why rdr2 ps5 and xbox series x update was cancelled.
I prefer story mode but Rock* wants u playin online ! There's plenty they could add to story mode. Giving options at ranch to to jack fishing or taking abigail out on town..changing John's features. Unlimited bounties alone would be awesome !!
It's because Rockstar doesn't add to story mode after game releases
Cool black colouring
Feel like this and the evans were a lil overpowered to be in the base game, in reality though the game can be entirely beaten with just the starter weapons so the real answer is just laziness on rockstars part.
Rockstargames abandoning Single Players since 2013
Dont have high hopes for GTA VI most of content will likely be locked for online
Because it would take a lil bit of work and they aren’t a fan of that
that gun design is revolting
lemme guess that was supposed to be clint eastwoods navy
O- *gunshot*
i wish they add the navy revolver
The funny thing about the navy revolver is that it wouldn't fare well in the fast-paced gunfights depicted in movies and video games. Unlike modern firearms, this revolver shoots lead balls, necessitating manual loading of each round with gunpowder and careful placement of the bullet using a ramrod located at the gun's bottom. The slow reload time would prove fatal in intense combat scenarios, and historically, it was primarily used by the army rather than in more dynamic settings. While the Navy Revolver boasts an appealing appearance, the Schofield undeniably outperforms it in several aspects.
In contrast, the online mode primarily revolves around showcasing one's skills and accomplishments, making it a perfect fit for such a scenario. For instance, it's not uncommon to witness a highly proficient level 100 gunslinger opting for a Navy Revolver just to demonstrate their exceptional prowess.
Cartridge conversion lol
Cylinder replacing lol
@@_oldoasis_ It's intriguing how the Navy Revolver could be transformed. Historical records indicate that the conversion of Navy Revolvers was a relatively rare occurrence, with an estimated count of around 1,000 conversions.
The Navy Revolvers featured in Red Dead Online appear to be in their original state, as evidenced by the observable reloading animation.
@@JohnGatsbyThe3rd I'm having trouble comprehending the reasons behind such statements. The Navy Revolver found in Red Dead Online does not appear to have undergone any modifications. The reloading process, distinctly depicted with the ramrod, reinforces its original state. Altering the Navy Revolver was infrequent, with historical estimates suggesting that only approximately 1,000 units underwent transformation.
@@Twinkies-nl2ieThe in-game canon for the guns is slightly different from real life. I remember the brochure saying that the volcanic cartridges in the game are a fictional beefed up variant that is more powerful than what actually existed. Im sure they would give the Navy a similar treatment
