      @@DTMFJeff HD P/N 26800195 and ThunderMax P/N EA7000, are for HD Touring Models. Either one is a simple add-on to the existing HD Oil Cooler (do not have to disconnect oil lines). I'd recommend to have the HD Dealership install it (30 minutes or less, actually more like 15 minutes) and then flash (typically a $50 charge) the bike's computer (ECU) to let the ECU know that the bike now has an Automatic Temperature Controlled Fan on the Oil Cooler. Now you need to ventilate the engine crankcase: I recommend the Trask M8 Checkvent (or you could use a Billet Vented Oil Dip Stick, such as the one from Fueling). Your engine will run better, last longer, etc. It's 2 upgrades well worth it. Ride safe.

    My 107 FXBB with the 22XE is pushing 108/119 average across three dynos. I've found that this cam runs a bit hotter than say a 475 or 468. Not like crazy hotter, but about 5 degrees hotter than my other cams I've had in it. Love the new FXLRST's, but around me the dealers are asking well above MSRP on top of all the other dealership fees they like to throw in and I refuse to play that game. Hoping that later this year that prices go back to normal and I can pick one up.

    Mine is a Sport Glide SE-498 cam same exhaust but with cat. New bike I got the build put in with my bike loan so no out of pocket, got the 20% MoCo discount and retained full warranty. 116/116 Still cost me about $600 more that you spent.
    Mine has the SE tuner to retain warranty so I normally have the 120 mph limit. However they put in a switch to turn the speedo off for “testing purposes”. After which my phone GPS shows 140 mph.

    I turn 62 next month and buying a new Harley for my 62 birthday. I have not ridden in 15 years and my last bike was a 825 Street Glide with a sluggish 88 cubic inch engine. When I saw this new Low Rider ST I new immediately this is the bike I am getting. 100lbs lighter than a Street Glide with a 117 engine seems like a dream ride. The only modification I will initially make is change the pipes and either do a stage 1 or 2. You seem very knowledgeable so need to ask you a question. I do NOT like to ride 100 MPH but I LOVE going from 0 to 60 as quickly as possible. So not sure what type of upgrade I need to do. Not sure if a stage 1 will suffice or I should go with a stage 2. Also how do you decide what cam to go with when doing these upgrades?. I do not want want to throw money away if a stage one will give me that quick 0 to 60 torque. But because this will be my last bike I have no hesitation doing whatever will give me the most smiles per hour. I also need to mention I do not want to void my warranty so whatever cam I use or if I do a stage 1 or 2, going to keep this in warranty. Changing subject if you want a good laugh. You mentioned about a wasp going in your helmet. Many years ago I was riding upstate on highway in NY with my $10 plastic brain bucket and a bee or some scary bug went up my nose while riding and I was NOT able to immediately pull over. Having a nasty bug crawling inside your nose when riding had to be my very worst experience of my riding life. I am lucky I kept the bike on two wheels because I was freaking out. Thought you might appreciate that story. And thanks for great video. You have a new subscriber. Safe travels my friend🙏

      Responding from my other account. Sounds like you have a good plan! You may not need a cam at all, I'd start with an exhaust and tune performed at your harley dealership before adding a cam. You may decide that's all you need. These bikes definitely dont sound good from the factory so that's where I would start. Get it broke in and after 500 miles let her rip and see how you like it. I'd also invest in some risers. If you want to keep your warranty you should have harley do the engine work if you decide to have it done. I wasn't worried too much about the warranty but if that's important to you you'll have to get HD to do the work. My dad is 62 as well and he rides this bike a lot and really enjoys it. Cheers!

    • @director2bob
      @director2bob 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for quick reply my friend. An hearing your 62 year old dad is riding the same bike just confirms I am making the right choice. The only bummer was I love listening to music but never liked wearing earbuds when riding as I like to hear what's going on around me. That all changed today when I read about a slip on fairing that Harley makes specifically for the Low Rider ST that is 250 watts of power and has two speakers and the amplifier built onto the fairing for something liker $1000. I am sure you know about this but for longer cruises music is a blessing at least for me. I wish you and your cool ass dad safe travels and many miles of new enjoyable experiences!!! 👍 Plus the money I will save by just going with new pipes and just a tuneup as you suggested of the stage 2 with new cam will covers a good portion of the cost for this speaker system. Great advice. Thanks again

Getting target tune, I will have it in the dyno to see we’re it’s at. Love this set up. The 114 is at 10.5 compression and the 117 is at 10. Don’t know if that makes a difference but after market cams love compression. I get that there is no replacement for displacement!

    I’m always amazed at the amounts of $$$ HD hooners go to get 118 hp with a fingers crossed hope it could be 130 in 6 th gear only.
    Meanwhile I have a Daytona 02 955i with 148 hp stock. 12K miles, one owner. Matt Capri exhaust tune & dynoed at 170 hp with a broad power band.
    For $5100! Six weeks of searching after three months of generation by generation deciding that 02 Daytona was one of the best examples of a bike that gives you a lot of bang for a few bucks.
    by the way the Daytona weighs just over 400. I wonder what would happen at the strip.
    It’s a beautiful bike beautifully upgraded. But the fact that it weighs upwards of 800 lbs won’t help you off the line.
    I could afford a bike like that. And I don’t mind getting outrun by a Busa or a Gixxer, but for $5100 I got a beautiful bike that’s faster than all but maybe a HD with a blower.
    No disrespect but facts are facts and quarter mile times are the best test.

    • @skeggst2957
      @skeggst2957  2 года назад +1

      Interesting perspective. Here’s my take. If I wanted a fast bike I’d buy a Kawasaki H2 for the same money I have in this bike. But I wanted a Harley LRST. Not for the speed, for the entire package, which includes the sound, looks, feel, and image that I like about Harleys (I have 3 nice Harleys). The money I spend to make it faster isn’t so I can pretend like it’s a fast bike, it’s to make the bike I like more enjoyable. I have significant funds to do so, so I’m not bothered by the price because that’s what I like to spend money on.
      On the other hand, I wouldn’t be caught dead on your bike. It’s just not my thing. So I don’t care if I could get a 955i for $20, I still wouldn’t ride it.
      Side note: the 955i was 128hp stock, not 148, and I highly doubt you gained 42hp with an exhaust and tune. No need to stretch the numbers, it’s still faster than my bike.

      @@skeggst2957 I like both types of bikes but I like speed plus I am getting a bit old to flog an 800 lb bike. I think the difference in hp might have been at the crank vs cthe wheel.
      But one of the bike mags reported 11 flat quarters. What would it take to get that in a HD.
      H2? more than I need and don’t like them that much. And I don’t need to be fastest, I just want some decent accelleration

    • @mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454
      @mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454 2 года назад

      @@skeggst2957 Yet another side note. The 955ii triple was 128 or so hp in Speed Triple form. But the Daytona 955i had a different tune that yielded something like 148 hp. But you have to dig to find that.

      This is like stopping a random dude pumping gas in a Denali and scolding him for not buying a $5k fox body like you 😂

    • @mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454
      @mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454 2 года назад

      @@rideoutside Except a Denali can do a lot of things fox bodies can’t. But during a fog storm emergency about 30 years ago LEO said if you weren’t driving recklessly you could drive as fast as you wanted to get home before the fog rolled in. My 88 fox body V8 Thunderbird outran a Porsche on top end. And I suppose you can haul more of your stuff on a bagger but these days I tend to ride close to home & sleep in the same bed at night so I don’t need to haul a bunch of gear with me.
      The H2 isn’t a bad bike either but I like tho “show” & the “go” of the Daytona.
      If I rode to Sturgis, Daytona and a half dozen other out of state rallies I can see it.
      If I were younger I would have one of each plus a scrambler. But today I would rather leave another $50-100k to my son & still be quick. But if I could really qualify as a RUB, I’d still buy the Daytona but probably get a beefed up Lowrider for variety. I’m not knocking Harleys or the people who ride them. But these days I want fast, light and not a money pit.
      If you have a $100K HD that puts a smile on your face and doesn’t interfere with other areas of your life more power to you. And I will definitely admire your ride.
      But I will still twist the wick at a traffic light if we get lined up right.
      I’ve always been a bang for your buck, go-faster kind of a guy. I like show AND go, but for me it’s go first.
      To each his own but if money was no object I would want one bike that could at least break into the 11s in the quarter.
      But part of the fun of biking is seeing different people with different ideas of what they want in their ride.
