I was looking at getting the avata, but now I'm waiting for the avata 2
Yes, a good idea just to wait. The 2 should be out very soon which also means the original Avata's price will drop right before this Avata 2 release as well. A win-win either way.
Not for me but I am curious to see the 04 Air unit. I'll watch for that to come out.
Agree....the whole drone rests on just how good/bad the new 04 Air Unit system will be. We all talk about the drone but it's really about the 04 Unit.
I'm in. Sold all my stuff including the previous avata and needing a new toy. Have only done a little fpv, this will be my focus for the summer...hopefully it will give me the confidence to move into some long range quads later using inav... Not giving up all autonomous flight capability unless beta flight introduces a few more flight modes.
Yeah...there are some really nice long range drones out there. Unfortunately, I just don't have anywhere nearby to fly them. NJ State is not exactly the capital of drone friendly states.. 😉😉 However, I do my best..
I use the Avata for indoor real estate flights, I'm hoping those new rear/downward sensors will help with that style of positioning.

You’re correct with the date. I doubt at this point they will change it. I personally believe most will not need to upgrade.
It’s a complete upgrade all around. Anything you can list is better with the V2. No need to attach a GoPro moving forward.
Yeah...that's really the goal for DJI in my opinion. Just want to get to the point where I don't have to attach a separate action camera to the drone for the best image and stabilization. If they've nailed that...then this is w win!

If they haven't fixed the tumble problem I do not care how good the 04 system is. Avata is unusable in manual mode :( I had to buy a separate freestyle drone to do my sharp turns. I mean Avata is able to go 100km but unable to turn with that speed. It is a a must if you are gonna enable the acro mode on a device. Lets see how it's gonna turn out...

Yeah, always seems like the bury that microSD card for some reason.
Are you going to have to have your phone connected to the goggles to launch? For those that upgraded their firmware 🤣
No...all new DJI drones going foward will have Remote ID built into them so that issue with connecting your phone to your goggles will no longer exist in this newer Avata 2.
IF it has upgraded camera, IF it has pass through cameras in the goggles and IF the battery life has been sorted then I'll probably get one so we will see.

I know for a fact you’ll want the 04 unit as it is a HUGE upgrade from the avata one and even the 03 unit. It’s going to be so much better… just wait 😊
