The axle I used for this latest mullet build did the same thing out of the package. Had to add a shim between the ring and bearing (I installed while I was in there). Great show, brother! What a cool kit!
That rig is sick. You know, having never seen the word and only heard it, I always thought the brand name was Endura like endurance. But look who the dumb shit is now. Anyway, I do love that chassis. Love your channel. Thank you.
I have those tires on my rock van I like them course mine are mounted in the same direction lol😅. They get softer and seem to work well where I live. The van doesn't have any weight added and it goes anywhere. 😊
Man that chassis looks good! Thinking of building one with all aftermarket components. Do u think there’s room above the rear axle for a servo? (front treal portal axle) Wanting to go 4ws. Maybe removing included esc plate and mounting furitek esc and rx inside the body on the doors?
You would definitely need to remove the plate on the rear for 4ws. I mounted my esc and receiver inside the cab but left the plate just because it wasn’t really in my way. It does hit the rear link mount when the suspension bottoms out though. So it would definitely be hitting a servo. They do look killer though!
Im glad u said that about the servo. Ppl act like I'm crazy when I posted of FB tat I have 4 different servos and they all hit the scoop and the hood even a tr-4 hd servo that is stock size does it my shocks won't fully compress I had to cut the hood and use spacers still even to get a good clearance using the crappy hd tr-4 servo I hate. The others I have r worse the coreless 11kg injora servo the 7kg injora servo way worse and ogrc servo way worse but ppl still saying I'm using such and such and doesn't hit my hood. I don't see how. LoL I mean maybe it's my ocd but it just aggervates me to have something hit something and keep my shocks from compressing all the way. I also had 2 screw holes not line up at all. The ones behind the bottom link mounts on the front. I guess I'm the only one.on that but yeah the screw that holds the chassis to the center skid behind front bottom links way off on mine. I also had to cut the bar in front of servo also. I mean once that all figured out it's a bad chassis but I would had hoped they included a flat battery mount also. I mean I can make one but that's not the point. I'd paid more money for a bigger scoop on the hood to run my better servos and a battery platform. But yeah I just don't understand how ppl r getting it not to hit the hood without cutting and without even some spacers.
Yeah I’m gonna try. The only issue is the way it wraps around the shock. Spreading it very much is going to put the up against the shock body really tight. May be ok though
I need to see it with the servo laydown mount!! Mine shows up Thursday and I really don't wanna go back to the stock orientation. Great video as always!!
Injora Tarantula and a trailer TOO? wow! hate it when that happens to something when you tear down and rebuild. so much so that i prefer to start fresh with a new vehicle but i aint rich anyways...what shocks are those? do i have to go back and do some 2fmrc research on those?
Haha! Yeah I used to always start with a new truck but it got pretty expensive testing all these chassis’s out. Those are the first Injora oil filled shocks. The 53mm ones. I was going to slap on the 59mm but travel is really limited with the front end on this thing anyway so I stayed with the shorter ones. May go longer in the rear and leave the front eventually.
Any plans on building a meus ripper v2? Its also in that $35 price range. Would be cool to see a comparison on the bench and the rocks between it and the tarantula.
I hope so! The ripper v2 looks like it has a lay flat servo mount included AND it’s at the same price point. I was just about to buy the tarantula and saw this comment, didn’t even know they released a v2. thank you!
I pulled it apart several times. Couldn’t figure anything out but I changed the bearings at the pinion gear and it finally stopped. I’ve been fighting 2 more sets of front axles with the same issue. Trying to get 1 working for an upcoming build and they were both doing the same thing. Nothing seemed to help. Took them apart several times etc. Finally one of them is working smoothly. Didn’t even change anything. Just all of a sudden it works. Crazy!
Quick question: Could you have used q low profile servo, such as as 160 torque servo from ProTek, for more clearance? Am I correct when I saw that’s a Standard size servo on it?
No these are micro servos. Something like an Emax or the RampCrab servos would fit ok probably but any of the ones with tons of power usually have a slightly larger case on them.
How many screws were u able to get on it on the lower part of the chassis? The stock trx4m has six. Four bigger screws and two smaller ones. I was only able to get the four bigger screws on the chassis once I attached it to the injora one. The two smaller screw holes didn't align properly
where did you get your laydown servo mount from i have been looking an cant find one. an im wanting to do a trx4m build but i want portal axles should i get some fcx,fms or the trx4m portal? an which company would have the best axles. thanks
The best lay down mount is the Meus racing imo. I had printed one and was using it but neither it or the Meus really fit this chassis well. I think with a little work it will work out though. www.meusracing.com/products/meus-racing-aluminum-transverse-servo-refit-upgrade-parts-stainless-steel-steering-links-set-for-1-18-rc-crawler-car-trx-4m-trx4m-bronco-defender-not-for-stock-frame
I have another question I have the furitek cayman carbon fiber kit and there alot of slop in the gears you can turn any of the tires quit a bit either direction before they catch an engage it dose have plastic ring an pinion how could I fix that or can it be? Thanks
@@frankiemabry1726 honestly there’s not a great fix for it. There’s a lot of slop when combining the portals with the normal transmission slop. The driveshafts sometimes can play into it if they aren’t the d shaped shafts that fit the output shaft well.
TRAXXAS CAPRA!!! Hell YEA!!! That is freaking killer!!!🤘🤘🤘
Great video man, thing is bada$$!!
What did the wheelbase work out to be with the RT chassis body?
Injora now includes a hood with more clearance. Looks kinda like a blown motor molded into the hood.
I have been looking at this also. I’ll probably get it.
The axle I used for this latest mullet build did the same thing out of the package. Had to add a shim between the ring and bearing (I installed while I was in there). Great show, brother! What a cool kit!
It's cool and I got to get one , but I agree 100 % what you said about a properly set up stock chassis hanging with anything
Wow another amazing video man your killing it the amazing products never end !!!
That looks cool, takes care of heavy body and bumper clearance issues. I have a meus chassis on way to try. It looks promising!
i'm a fan of the tires it's a good chasis for sure
that is sweet looking one day ill be back to it deff miss it
That rig is sick. You know, having never seen the word and only heard it, I always thought the brand name was Endura like endurance. But look who the dumb shit is now. Anyway, I do love that chassis. Love your channel. Thank you.
Between trx4m, fcx24, cr18 and scx24 who has the best axles. Most robust, least slop, best steering angle.
Looks like it belongs in a Mad Max movie! Pretty sweet!
I have those tires on my rock van I like them course mine are mounted in the same direction lol😅. They get softer and seem to work well where I live. The van doesn't have any weight added and it goes anywhere. 😊
Yeah I always prefer any tire with a v shape to it to be ran backwards at least on the front. Sometimes all around lol
Your truck do it your way 😆 🤣 😂
I have the same trx4 body and chassy

Can you add spacers to move the front chassis tubes out to lay the servo down? Might be better than hacking the cage.
Yeah I’m gonna try. The only issue is the way it wraps around the shock. Spreading it very much is going to put the up against the shock body really tight. May be ok though
Yeah looks pretty awesome, Yep I’m here watching
can you start with the high trail edition?
I need to see it with the servo laydown mount!! Mine shows up Thursday and I really don't wanna go back to the stock orientation. Great video as always!!
In the biggest Facebook group for trx4m one guy heated his up to fit the lay down mount

It would be sweet to cut the vent out in the hood and let the servo poke through
Late to the party, are those links the stock length, or a combination of a few to stretch the rear out?
What shocks did you use on the Trantula?
Pretty sic looking buggy dam matt always showing me stuff to spend more money on thanks bud 🔥🔥🔥😎👍
Very nice looking rig!

It's the nylon injection moulded one?
It should make it stronger and a smoother finish than a 3d print
@@lgrc6120 Yep V2 is injection molded and multi piece so it is much easier to paint.
@@Steve_J81 Cheers
Does this work with the high trial ?
When you said you wanted to try the 63mm injora is that the 63 19?
These 64mm injoras are probably my favorite all around tire. I wanna try those on it soon.

@@2fmrc I'm running those on my Angry Sparrow

Is tgere an FCX 24 option on the way? Maybe?
Not sure! I hope!
Looks insane
Awsome like always
Hey Matt. Love that rig, ordered...... where did you buy the sliders from?
I hope you and the Family are doing GREAT
Really appreciate that! They are built into the chassis 🤘
Can I swap a AX24 in it?

Are these the 53 or 59mm injora shocks
The 53mm. I was going to put a set of the 59s on but with the fronts being limited by the chassis anyway I just left the 53s.
and where do you get your 3s battery packs? my hoppy store really dont have any smaller than 850mah an its to big for anything really. thanks
Usually palmbeachbots. The palm power 3s are tiny. I’ve had a few die on me after a lot of use but overall satisfied with them.
Question.. will the easy swap out work with the ( fms ) mobels , and if so what size would be best ? 1/24. Or. 1/18. Hobbiest-thanks
No it bolts to the Trx4m skid
Nice 😊

Yeah I just left those 2 screws out. They aren’t really needed.
I had the same problem with mine, just left them out.
Does it work on a fcx24?
This one don’t. They may release one for it but this one is laid out for the Trx4m skid.

Maybe steal ring an pinion gears it has the furitek trans. So maybe some not plastic drive shafts would work
I have a question do you vent your tires on the 1/18th? Like some ppl do on the 1/10ths. If so what is the best way?
That chassis needs a little 3d printed cockpit with some helmets.
Ahhh wasn't fat enough... like number 10 after only 11 min of the video being uploaded...lol
That thing is siiiick though...i want one!!!
💪💯
Just ordered mine
Nice! Hope you love it!
