- The Traxxas TRX4M Bronco takes another step in its evolutionary build and received the NEW Furitek titanium comp style chassis: the Bettle! This chassis kit eliminates the stock frame rails and body, stripping the rig down to the bare essentials. Dude, after finding a black version of this chassis on Amazon, I'm thinking of doing this chassis next year of 2024, pretty stoked about it.
This is great, but having the Bronco body is what makes it fun. It’s challenging. And looks real. I would definitely do this on a second Trx4m dedicated to maximizing performance 📈

@@ryansilver9601 Possibly. If you used some of the forward and rear shock mounts, you may be able to fashion a body mount. I'm not sure though.

Hey Adam, I love your channel! You have a great way of condensing information and explaining it and I've enjoyed watching nearly all of your videos over the last few days. I don't own a rock crawler but I want to try it, trying to decide between the scx24 deadbolt, the new AX24 or the TRX4M. Difficult to decide but I'm leaning towards the SCX for the upgradability. Keep up the good work, its great to see that you can share your hobby with your son.

Yeah! Definitely get a another TRX4M, I would keep it brushes and give the Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster mini 66T a try along with the crawler gears! I have this set up and really like it.

Great video, all you need now is rear wheel steer and this thing is going to take over, also yes another TRX4M bronco, and I think you should buy a SCX24 deadbolt and do a extreme cheap build and compare it to your high end deadbolt

i was thinking of switching over to this or the grasshopper for my daughters trx4m.
The grasshopper is great in my mind because it retains the factory appearance but gives you so much more versatility for shock mounting.
You should either paint or 3d print a fan for the front of the motor so you can see it spinning better.. great build.

I love my skill rigs but I don't really have any big expectations from them unlike performance they just look real cool if I need something that really performs I like my Rock bouncer chassis or a nice set of low CG frame rails with minimum on it

If you're going hardcore modification, the SCX24 is still king in my opinion.

Thank you! I think the SCX24 C10 or deadbolt is the most capable. The SCX24 has such immense aftermarket support and it responds so well to mods. Those give it the edge I feel.

I want that chassis and brushless. I'd probably stick a miniT body on it. Only be a couple stock parts left after that..

Hey Adam I was wondering if you recommend building out my already existing trx4m or just buy a FURITEK cayman and upgrade from there?
For me most of the fun is in the process of transforming a stock rig into something unique and wildly different from the start. I almost feel like the Cayman is cheating because it gives you such a capable platform already!
For the brushless system I am okay spending the 130-140 on the speed controller and motor… but what are my options for a receiver and remote on a budget? Is the furitek avatar worth the 120+ dollars? Or is there a good budget option?
The avatar is nice. Great quality and lots of features. However, a good budget powerhouse transmitter is the flysky gt5: a.co/d/i5Bnn0d

I'm using the Injora servo and mount here. They sell the entire kit for ~$50 and it works great. Not super fast like some other high performance servos, but its strong and budget friendly.

does using smaller hardware for the shock mounts make a big difference? ive seen it requires smaller screws
Not a big difference I don’t think. Your shocks will be floppy but that’s not a big deal
What wheels and tires are on it. And do you have any recommendations for shocks on it that would add more articulation and I don’t have to change stuff on the shocks because I tried the shocks that you have on right now and they did not go on and I don’t know how to change stuff on shocks. So if you have any suggestions for good articulating shocks that I don’t have to change anything on please let me know thank you so much 🎉. And the build looks amazing 😮
Thank you! Wheels and tires are Injora brass beadlock wheels and Injora 64mm rock terrain tires. If you want more articulation without changing anything else, check out the flex extensions from Adaptiv3 Designs (Etsy or Ebay). They are inexpensive, easy to install, and make a big difference.

I should. I get asked a lot for a build sheet. A comprehensive video with parts list is a good idea.
With all of your new parts, how much of the original truck can you put back together?
I could rebuild it all except for the battery tray and axle housings.
Pretty cool option for the Trx4m. The servo sticking up in the air hurts my feelings! It's just weird looking! Looks like your setup could benefit from rubber bands or something on the shocks to help control that torque twist when it loads up! Nice work Adam.
I agree with you about the servo. DSM just released a flat position servo mount for this and I've got one on pre-order. Can't wait!
What are the electronics in it I'm having a hard time right now trying to get the stock stuff to fit

Love watching your builds but this is my favourite! I’m a big C10 fan but really want a full on ‘comp’ rig too and I just love the look and performance of this build. Just wish Furitek were more available in the UK…

@@CapeCrawlers it does but we get spanked with import and handling fees which make them cost prohibitive, so far I’ve only found one dealer/distributor here and they’ve been completely out of stock for months 😅

Crawler gears. Crawl gears are suuuuupper slow unless you got with a motor upgrade, then they’re good. Stock gears felt too jumpy for me. But you can also underdrive/overdrive the gears now with injoras parts

No, I think the skid is too wide. The Scythe chassis will work for the SCX24 and it's very similar.

Yes, you can fit the stock electronics in this. There is plenty of room to do so!

The problem I have with flex on mine is the suspension links hitting the servo mount

You would want to get the Furitek Scythe chassis for the SCX24. This one is too wide in the skid for the SCX24.
You should get another TRX4m Defender and make it your scale rig
I've been slowly working on a scale build for my sons defender. I should do a video on that one so you guys can check it out.
Between trx4m, fcx24, cr18 and scx24 who has the best axles. Most robust, least slop.
I feel like its the SCX24. The portal axles in the cr18p and fcx24 still have quite a bit of slack in the gears. The trx4m seems to strip gears easier than the worm gear/screw combo in the scx24.
@@CapeCrawlers I was under the impression that the scx24 axles sucked because you can't tighten the nuts down all the way without causing them to bind? I don't have a scx24 only a fcx24 so I haven't used them in person.

No I don't think so, but I would need to check the rules again. So if that is the case it's more for just fun and shock value, and it has fun in spades.
