I want to thank you posting a relevant video on an older toro that could very well be my issue. There are so many bad videos out here from dweebs wanting you to thumb their channel. This one is the real deal.
solid fix man! appreciate it, stopped me from hours of messing around with adjustments and diagnosis. Went straight to the set screw and tightened it. Thanks brother!
You are the MAN! The nut on mine had vibrated loose and was gone and the bolt was lying on the deck. After I replaced the nut it is good as new! I could be of on a wild goose chase had I not watched your video! Thank you!
something made a pop when i was messing with this problem, while moving the arm back and forth, arm started working properly for like 2 seconds, then it locked up again :(
I was having traction problems with my ZTM mower for a few months. The right rear wheel would sometimes spin. It was a nuisance. I tried several adjustments, but nothing worked. The last time I started to cut the grass the right front wheel was no longer spinning freely and I could not hold it in a straight path. The bearings were shot. I replace them and It resolved both the steering and traction problems.
Good video! Sometimes it's the simple things that get overlooked! Appreciate the tip! I'm going to check mine. Hopefully that is the problem. I was thinking that it is probably a lot worse, but maybe I'll get lucky and this will fix it! Thank you!
Husquavarna should of fixed all the stupid design problems on this mower before they ever sold it out the door. Don't these companies test things? Like over years? In the field? Like with decades of experience?
some times my mower creeps and sometimes it doesn't today it did the whole time so I stopped was afraid I would damage something.. I think it is my arms to , going to see if this bolt is loose its only on one side.. no oil leaks except when I changed my oil those 3 bolts below the flywheel were so loose I was luck I found them.. I guess I need to get some thread sealer for them.. thank you for the video..
Wrong Wrong Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it usually has to do with tire pressure and tire size watch this video and hear it from the horse's mouth, he's been a factory rep for 26 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ruclips.net/video/_uDv-5cUNCw/видео.html
Would this cause it to slow down going up hill with the arms fully forward mine goes great on flat land but as soon as there is the slightest incline it starts to hesitate than stops mid hill
I think you found what I've been having troubles with... the mower jerking left and right while slowing down and trouble keeping straight on downward slopes. I wish you would have driven it to show what it was doing first. I'm searching high and low to find a video to correct this problem. where one side 'grabs' then the other side. mostly when going down hill or trying to make small adjustments in reverse. I, at least, have a new place to look to correct. Already lubed the linkage points and changed steering dampeners... You may have finally helped me fix this.
I have a Kubota Z724 that tracks ok on asphalt but when mowing yard is very duffucult to track true. I've adjusted linkage and dampeners and changed trans fluid but can't get the wiggle out of mowing a straight line. Air pressure is same in each tire. It has the Parker transmissions. Does mine have a similar screw you describe? Any suggestions. Thanks.
Looking for some help... I just bought a Toro Timecutter 75742. The control levers are stiff and when I push forward, they do not return to neutral by themselves. I can let go and the mower still moves forward. It makes driving around pretty interesting. What should I look at to fix this?
The dampener Which looks like little shocks are supposed to have some friction so it's not so free wheeling. However there should be some kind of Spring return that gets it back to neutral usually it's on or around your adjusting knob . You can go to a place on the Internet like Jack's small engine.com and plug in your model number for your mower and you should find a blow up schematic of your steering system to see if there Springs that should be their that perhaps are missing . Or it just could be that everything needs to be lubed up what it's almost impossible to tell without physically seeing something you know
Hello, I have a problem with my left arm. I can't turn or move forward or backwards. My right arm is fine. Could this be my problem? Those square bolts on mine look like they are equally apart. Should I tighten my left one? I'm not leaking no fluids
My new time cutter my ride drove me off a hill. I was making a right turn, never broke traction, would not steer right and went straight while I was on the handle to make it go right, in turn, took me down a hill and off an embankment. I was able to fall off the machine and thankfully didn’t get hurt bad, and the mower, it’s messed all up.
Got that same mower boiler hydraulic hose when he was trying to pull something replace the hose and it still won't go forward or backwards or backwards
update lol I havent found that screw but mine didn't start creeping till i changed my oil??? sometimes it is worst than others any suggestions???? Mine is steering straight just don't want to go up a hill??
toro time cutter turns on, when i try to move forward or backwards, no response, feel hydraulic pressure, checked drive belt. could it be these screws that are loose as well? thanks
My mower is a 42 inch Ariens Zero turn and the problem is different mowers are set up differently I don’t know if this will work trying it on mine or not my mower keeps turning to the left whenever I have both handles pushed forward whenever I’m driving.
Hey! Not sure if you will see this, but you seem very knowledgeable in the mechanics of this particular tractor. I have z500 Zmaster Toro commercial and my left side has lost a lot of power but it still works ( backwards is almost nonexistent -forward is decent) can still control the tractor. Does this sound like a pump issue, adjustment issue? My hydraulic pump has a fan in front and I have a seller who has the same model toro but the hydraulic does not have a fan in front. Do you think these could be compatible - my hydraulic is 116-2445 and his is 103-2675. They are almost identical except for the fan in front of mine, do you think I can exchange the two? Or do you think there is alternative method that could help boost power on the left side? My steering is some what like you described, less power on my left (at one point it got stiff and liked to move after in neutral) and more power on the right. I really hope it’s not an hydraulic pump issue
I have a new to me rig and if I push the right side forward I can let go of it and it stays forward until I pull it back. The left returns to center but not the right. I can let go of it and drink a soda while steering with the left. Haa Any thoughts? Toro
Some have spring returns and some use the shock type dampeners, but just sounds like the return mechanism is bad. Of course from here in Massachusetts it's a guess without seeing it, but that's my guess
Hello,..Great video.. I have a Toro commercial zero turn with 110-4150 Hydro Pumps however they turn okay but I do have like a squeaky noise when I do turn if possible could you tell me what the issue could be?
It sounds like the person who put it together might have missed some bolts too tighten down or the linkage from handle bars to the steering pump came disconnected
We have this problem but only after our Toro has been running for about 20 minutes. We turn it off and let it rest for about an hour, then we get another 10 to 20 minutes of use before the problem shows up again. Any suggestions?"
I'm trying to think how being warmer would affect steering . The steering pumps are always rotating with engine speed maybe when the steering oil which is a 20w 50 motor oil, maybe when oil gets warm its not performing like they should. Some units have an oil filter like a car. So maybe check the oil level or change oil and filter. Just a stab in the dark .
I need help ASAP! Please please. My zero turn lawn mower handle is stuck and won't go back into the slot so it wouldn't stop. I got it to stop by turning the whole thing off, but it freaked me out. Do you know how I can fix it?? I just noticed there's a little L shaped metal piece that must have came off of something. I don't have social media so I'm just going to RUclips to hopefully get help
Most have some kind of spring return to a neutral position. If yours is stuck I would look at the linkage between the hydro pump and handle bar, and compare both sides
I really hope you reply I just bought a used Ferris Is2000z and It was the first time I had it out mowed great and was strong but out of nowhere now the right side won't pull the tire weakly moves and then stops like something caught it. No oil loss and it was 100-0. This is my first zero turn. I tightened the release valve hoping it just came loose to no avail. What should I do?
Not sure without seeing...maybe the brake is hanging up. Not sure on the ferris but most have a band clamp brake, it might be too tight or out of adjustment...just guessing
Any idea I just changed the hydrolic fluid following the manual on purging the air out of the system. I have no power out of the left side. Any suggestions?
If you're certain there is fluid in pump and the air is out then maybe check the neutral or free roll valve is tight. Or maybe check linkage to handle bar is working properly.
I have a Dixie chopper that one hydro will stick when changing from forward, to reverse, to forward as if it was on the inside of the turn. I am about to replace the fan blades on top that got broke replacing a drive belt, so could it just be getting hot?
I don't know I've never came across that however It's kind of hard to disregard a broken fan and you have a problem . So hopefully that works out for you
Not sure how those jd handle bars operate but must be some kind of shock dampener or spring return that you can remove to see if it's the hydro pumps that is causing the stiffness
My exmark moves and turns great in forward, but one side moves really slow in reverse while the other side operates as normal. Could this still be the issue ?
I don't know for sure however those pumps spin in one direction only so when you slide from forward to reverse it just covers some holes and opens other holes for hydraulic fluid to flow. So It could be an internal problem in the pump, but I would first jack the wheels off the ground and make sure the handle bars are moving the input shaft to the pumps the exact distance back and forward. Both pumps are spinning at the same rate because there is one belt spinning both, so if you push handle bars forward evenly at a slow speed and it tracks true, and then slowly pull back to stop and if that tracks true then there should be no reason that if you went slowly into reverse it should track true. If it doesn't then most likely the pump is faulty.
hey im having an issue where the right lever on my zero turn is pulling ahead all on its own, even when mower is TURNED OFF. i let my little nephew play around on it while it wasnt running and now this is happening. what could that be?
It sounds like the pump is advanced a little bit maybe the set screw was loose enough to slide out of the neutral position. But then again if it's doing it when the machine is off then perhaps it's the shock dampener that's played out . all that is it's just to give the handle bar some stiffness and resistance . Of course everything is a guess when you when you're not actually looking at the machine ya know
@@JLafix ya i knew you would just be guessing but i just wanted to get an idea of what the issue might be. it almost seems like the shock wants to extend itself all the time
