Hot climates I can only eat fruits and salads. Heavy cooked animal and starch based meals are colon blocking foods and dehydrate in the heat

let’s freaking go so happy to be dominican my grandfather was born in that city i highly recommend you check out the colonial town and go to another city called gardens off the north (jardines del norte) and try a dominican burger/chimi you’ll like it

JL: how great to visit the DR! It's a little hot now but great country. I first visited San Pedro de Macoris in 1985 to see a few baseball games. Nice town but I don't remember the Cathedral Cafe! That place looked great. I checked the menu and the prices for your breakfast & sandwiches were in the $6-8 range, not bad! Enjoy & be healthy!
There is something called a chimichuri a dominican style burger you get from the streets. The only issue is finding people that still make it. Enjoy the island

The fried salami with egg and the krispy sounding cheese..dayum looks yum. The DR cheesesteak looks like lasagna in a sandwich. 😍 The burger with the DR seasoning is something I think I'd love. As usual, JL, great vlog. Thanks for sharing the time with your fam in the DR.
Sometimes I ask for the Mangu for a side dish on a main course when in DR.Its not on menu but they will make it.

@bernadettemckinney9829 a little similar but. Not quite because I don't like and don't ear grits. Mangum is mashed up plantains. So it more similar to mashed potatoes.
