The “little islands” are v probably Crannogs. Early settlements, you will not be popular camping on them. Sort your knees by using two trekking poles. They take massive weight off your hips and knees.
@@keithtanner2806 Thanks for letting me know. I’ve not wild camped for some time now but it’s on my cards soon but will steer clear from the “Crannogs” 👍🏼 Been thinking if to get some poles, maybe will get some soon.
@@David-mo5jw Oh yeah I can imagine it being a tough one in the snow. But on a clear day or similar to this day it is quite an easy walk throughout. Tough on the top if wanting to scramble right up but well worth it for the views.
I climbed The Stac back in the late 80's - one of the best days out in the Scottish mountains ever - beautiful Spring day - I must do it again - it's pronounced Stac Polly. EDIT* and Suilven is pronounced sooliven - or thereabouts 🙂
It’s stunning out there, and from up in the air with the drone it’s looks even better! Yeah I read somewhere it’s often anglicised as Stac Polly and I was told Suilven is pronounced Sool-ven. 🤷🏼♂️ I pronounce a lot of things wrong 😂 even pronounced Kylesku bridge as ky-les-ku 🙄 after then being told it’s just Kyle-sku 😆
