There is just something so deeply authentic and joyful in watching your experiences. I sit here with the big C, itching to get out and immerse myself in the landscape but just can’t at the moment. Your advent series is a superb substitute right now. I wanted you to know just how much your efforts impact others. Watching you run around in circles as the first light appeared was infectiously funny but we all recognise and share that feeling. Keep them coming Henry, they speak to people in ways you probably don’t realise.
Landscape is emotive and emotional, whether its down to family roots or just the shear beauty of nature. No worries - enjoy the emotion as its why you go there again and again!
I have the connection with Austria. We go there every summer on vacation, and every time I get there it feels like coming home. Not even only for the photography, of course also for that, but just only being there. The beautiful mountains, the fresh air (it's such different air than in the Netherlands!), the rivers, the lakes.. Love it there! The image at 11:50 is stunning!! Also 15:00 and 20:45 are breathtaking!
Now then soft lad, don’t ever feel afraid to show the emotion that you’re feeling amongst the wonderful scenery. How could you not be overcome by such beauty? The sea has the same effect on me. As a young man in the Royal Navy, my duties took me up on deck every hour of my watch to check the oil levels on the ship’s boats. Some early mornings, with nobody else around ,surrounded by the vast openness and the endless skies, I would sit for a few minutes and be overcome by the sheer vastness and never ending beauty of it. The sea always fills me with wonder. Some spectacular photos there Henry. Thanks
Simply awesome Henry. Every single second of this video is the reason why you are the number one watch for me. You weren't up there on your own, but with another 2000 or so followers watching. I remember watching one of your earlier videos when you went up there for your own birthday treat (I think) and this inspired me to go up there for a few days. Just stunning, right, I am going to watch it again now I have said my bit.
I’ve traced my mother’s lineage back to Scotland. They immigrated to Northern Ireland in the mid 1600s and to America in the mid 1700s. Your images of Scotland evoke a sense of comfort and well being. Hard to explain. Love your channel.
Hey Henry, I completely understand your feelings about Scotland. It’s such an evocative landscape and that feeling of being “home” is something we share. I’m always struck with an overwhelming desire to stay whenever I visit and I’m frequently emotionally charged when heading North. Once I’m up to Loch Lomond I just can’t escape that feeling of being at home, at one with nature and simply being where I feel happiest. It’s a strange feeling indeed and I’m unsure of the rhyme or reason. I must have been a well heeled Laird in a previous life!! Brilliant upload, love your work and inspirational uplifting presentation so keep it going and keep an eye open for property in the highlands, I know I am 😜👍👍👍
Great video as always. I think other than your roots, Scotland is a dream for a photographer. Immense place, wilderness ay every corner, mountains, water, wildlife, the snow, the frost, the landscape, amazing trees. Just perfect. I am not fit enough to climb and photograph what you do, but I have a deep connection with Scotland when I see photos or videos, and yet I am French from the Mediterranean area. So what you said makes sense. Makes you feel free. Loved your excitement. Was so emotional and beautiful to see.
I got married for the 2nd time in Inverness, in 2010 we had 1st went there in 2008 when my 2nd wife to be had been given the all clear from breasts cancer, so from then on we have had a close affinity with the Highlands, we always travel up through Glencoe, and we have touched most parts north and west of Inverness, it is a stunning area, as is all of Scotland. We are back up in February basing ourselves just outside Ullapool for the week. Loving the advent series, as I do all your vlogs
What a truly beautiful place and oh my gosh a photographers dream conditions Henry! I'm not surprised you got emotional, entirely with you with that one, when you connect with the scene in front of your eyes and feel the joy from what you are digesting. Gorgeous images ( personally I feel the Nikon adds to the quality ). I have a similar connection with the North Norfolk Coast of England, as it is local to me, always different and so beautiful, especially when you get conditions like you had here. Always take my camera, can't miss out!
Henry... this Texan had the privilege to meet up with Mads Peter Iversen in the Faroe Islands and what a place. Photography is my escape from the everyday (I'm an accountant)... secondarily living vicariously through youtube photographer videos, thank you for taking me along this evening!! what an amazing location !! That photo @16:00 wow !!!!!
I don’t live too far from here. I’m a landscape photographer but nowhere near your standards. I came here for a 4 day holiday 16 years ago and never returned to NW England. Your enthusiasm and love for your photography is overwhelming. You’re such an inspiration. Thank you so much.
This has got to be one of the most wholesome videos you have ever done. That scenery really was jaw dropping, I actually think you have it at the best time of year, when the orange and red lower slopes of the mountains contrast with the light dusting of snow on the peaks! I love exploring and hiking it Scotland, did the West Highland Way earlier this year and was blown away by the photography scenery, already hoping to make another trip there this April, I can see why people love it so much, it has many similarities with my home Ireland but there is just something about the expanse of the place that hits different.
Once you are there and immersed in the scenery I don’t think you can help but feel as you did. I was on a beach at Morar in mid July a few years back with a friend. It was dead still, the sun was going down behind Skye and it looked like it was glowing from within and moon had come up and was casting light across the water of a little rocky inlet in front of us. We took no photos, we just stood there crying. The images are in my head, always.
Wow Henry! Your enthusiasm and your sentiment is absolutely to be admired Henry, well done on a brilliant video and your shots are fantastic also. My favourite.....the sun star..🎉🎉
Excellent video, Henry! I was born in Scotland and we left Dundee for the US in 1955. I was raised in a very Scottish household. I am extremely proud of my Scottish heritage! 99.99 according to 23and Me. I totally get where you're coming from, once a Scot, always a Scot! Keep 'em coming, I'm really enjoying these videos.
It does go deeper, your auld man was a Scotsman, that gives you the claim to it as well, and that special thing your feeling, is what all of us Scots feel. We know we live in the best part of the UK, for scenery at least, this special feeling, incase you haven't worked it out, is because you feel like you belong. like part of you is home. if you love Scotland, it will love you.
My dear departed mother was part of the Farquharson Clan, Aberdeenshire way, and whenever I get to Scotland, not often as it’s a 10 hour drive, I just love it! There’s something about being amongst the nature, where humans ultimately belong! Keep it up Henry, cracking channel mate 👍
Your enthusiasm and the fact I love Scotland too helped bring home how much I have missed it over the last couple of years. An inspiring video Henry, you came away with some beautiful images. 🙂
Being emotional about your heritage Henry is a wonderful thing, I love it. Personally my Dad was from Peterhead and my Mum from Crieff, and me I was born in Toronto. I love my Scottish heritage and have had many wonderful holidays in Scotland. Great job on your video's the scenery and your adventures are top notch keep up the good work Henry! Cheers from Calgary.
Absolutely gorgeous photos Henry! I just love your enthusiasm. Watching you run around in circles was just a hoot. I believe that your passion for photography may only be surpassed by your obvious love of Scotland.
Absolutely! I've had the sheer privilege of travelling around Glencoe and the surrounding area back in 2014 and instantly fell in love with the place. It is just.. stunning and it provided some photographic memories I'll treasure. I need to go back up sometime, really do!
My heart was in my mouth watching you climb up those icy paths. You are part mountain goat I think. What absolutely stunning images from this location and I can appreciate your connection to this place. Top drawer Henry 👏
I grew up in Scotland so any time I return, I feel like I'm "coming home" and now especially since I've gotten into photography (you were one of my inspirations during lockdown), I really enjoy visiting with my camera. Happy advent. This series - and a new location daily - is enchanting. Lovin' it. In fact, as you say "Top draw!" 🤣🤣
Just like you Henry, I e been to the west coast of Scotland and the Highlands many times, there is something about the unspoilt ugliness of the mountains which is beautiful in its own right, I think its that which draws me back every year.
As an extreme beginner you always inspire me to get out with the camera and try different shots and experiment even with different weather conditions. You have showcased Scotland in all her majesty. I'm proud to be a Scot having a country like this at hand.. Looking forward to your next adventure.
I totally get where you’re coming from re Scotland Henry - my grandfather’s side of the family had Scottish connections - it has to be Scotland for me, particularly the west coast. Absolutely magical
Awesome Henry I used to watch Thomas heaton. I stumbled across your channel quite some time ago watched all your videos and just have to say I’m so glad I did. Keep up the great work pal I think all who watch your channel just love what you do 👍👍
I'm Swedish, but I'm right with you, it's Scotland. Been over 5 times now and I'm always, always blown away by Scotland and her beauty. Somehow it feels like home.
Good morning Henry, it's 5:25am on the 5th of December and I'm sitting at home with my 1st of many cups of coffee and your energy and passion is better than any caffeine busting drink, it's a fantastic start to my day, I'm really enjoying these "advent" adventures of yours, can't wait for the next one, brilliant brilliant brilliant........
Fabulous video Henry, in every way! My happy place for photography is when I travel home to Batavia, Illinois, USA and photograph along the Fox River. I’m able to shoot wonderful landscapes, birds, and other wildlife! My brother and I grew up camping, swimming, and fishing in these places with a tight group of friends! Other than my brother, all of those friends are now gone! When I go there I take my brother along and we remember the good times of our childhood, while I click away with my trusty Nikon! Keep up the great work, and thanks for taking me along !
Wow, I feel like I've climbed that mountain with you and shared the absolute joy. One of the reasons I follow you, other than your great photography, is your joy and enthusiasm, I feel like I've been through an emotional ringer with this video but thanks for taking me on a journey I would not have otherwise been able to enjoy.
I think it is worth harping on about taking all of the shots you might need, especially for those who won't be able to come back to a location they are visiting. A lot of older folks are taking those once in a lifetime trips now. It would be a shame in this digital era, to come home with an almost shot of the favorite thing you saw, because you didn't focus stack or bracket, as a just in case safety net. Fine video, Henry. Beautiful location.
I feel the same about Scotland..I'm 63 and live in Northern Ireland..the first time I was in Scotland was on holiday in 1964 and since then I get a special feeling each time I visit...my dad was the same, he went photographing in Scotland up until two months before he passed away...Once again a brilliant video...many thanks
Loving these Henry, and thanks for doing them. That sunstar pic works fine for me. The lack of sky detail means the eye is most often on the tops of those beautiful mountains and the foreground. What a place!
Only 4:30 minutes in and already connected with you Henry Understanding where the feeling of ‘love’ comes from and you are close to an answer you may be ‘looking’ for I’ll crack on now to finish whats a little less than 23 minutes left 👍🏻
Being Scottish myself it's no wonder that you love it as the scenery is magnificent. Twice in one day up there, now that's some achievement. Absolutely stunning image's mate. The speed that you were walking over the snow made me cringe and I'm glad you didn't slip. Look forward to the next one.
When you started crying. Can't lie... I did also 😢 both my wife and myself was yelling to you at you to stop talking and hurry up. Lovely video and images.
What a wonderful Video about a breathtaking landscape from a empathic man. If somebody is able to convey his truly feelings and emotions to his homeland and its nature, then it's you, Henry. Thank you
Haven't been to Scotland in far too long but that feeling there was really unlike anything that I've ever felt anywhere, like coming home even though I'd never been there before, intense and moving, like everything was just right and resonated in some kind of magical way with every bit of my being. Love your channel btw, thank you for all you do.
My connection is to Toolangi - NE of Melbourne. A small area of mostly untouched rainforest... logged all around it, but sections have been left as they were. 70-80 meter Mountain Ash, Myrtles, Wattles, Ferns, and streams.. .as close to paradise as you will find... Andy C
You are a true treasure Henry! I have rarely seen such unbridled joy and enthusiasm from anyone for the passion that drives their life. The images are stunning, demonstrating the care and craft you take with your work. Thank you for allowing those of us who can never be where you have been and seen what you have seen to experience these moments of pure beauty and adventure.
"Daft cringy feelings." Sums it up, mate. That's a lot of work submitting work every day, but I applaud you. I was just about wondering the fact that you have been releasing a lot of stuff. Keep it up the great work, and the endless youthful enthusiasm! The view at the top is spectacular, but so is the drop off.... oooph scary!
Scotland is a special place for me too. The first time I went there I felt I was at home. Very strange. Looked a bit precarious up the top but what an amazing view. Great shots too.
Lovely video Henry and great shots. Like you, and I suspect many others too, I share a very deep love for Scotland. as far as I know, I have no Scottish blood in my line, but that love and a deep spiritual connection is there. the place that gets me most is Glencoe, I've given up trying to understand it, or to rationalise it. It just affects me deeply and emotionally, it's always a wrench to leave and I always have a strong desire to return (Isle of Harris in March 2024, whoop, whoop!), whenever I can. Thanks for the video, and for the memories you have stirred today of my previous trips to the highlands, all treasured memories!
Absolutely superb video Henry, as young 20 yr olds we used to regularly motorcycle up to the highlands 2 or 3 times a year for about 15 years from Portsmouth so it was quite a trek, we absolutely loved every trip and never wanted to come home, photography was part of it but not the main part, that was just being there, our longest non stop ride was to Portree, 708 miles...anyway that was a long time ago, I now, at 64 want/need to go back but it scares me I'm not sure if I can handle the emotional aspect. Now I'm bang into photography I can picture all the beauty that we saw and imagine capturing it all again, especially now I roughly know what I'm doing! I'd fly up this time though and hire a car, that's what older age does for you. There's something about the highlands that has kept calling me.
The star burst sun and the last black & white are my favourites. I used to hike through the cairngorms, the views were amazing and such a peaceful place. Your videos are fantastic, looking forward to the next one
You are in my favourite spot on earth.....have sat on the slopes looking north to Suillven and Canisp,Quinag so many times it never ever fails to silence the mind ....and just be💕💕🙏🙏
I have very much the same feeling of Eryri (Snowdonia) in North Wales. I’m from the area and now live in South Wales. The whole of Eryri is so very special to me and know exactly how you feel. This has to be one of your best videos for me.
Superb video Henry as it really captures you enthusiasm and emotional attachment to what you photograph. There are places that you or anyone who visits, where the beauty of the landscape captures your heart , but not many burn deeply into your soul. It is those locations that move your very being to experience a connection like no other, For me it is Glen Coe but I have not been to the area the Knoydart...yet. Keep up the inspirational work and your advent series has been a goto each evening.
Just like yourself Henry, my Father was a Scotsman and every time I go to Scotland I feel a sense of connection. Also another stunning set of photographs mate.🙂👌
I cried with you Henry! Such a mind blowing place it is.Part of my heart is still “home” in Scotland as I miss that scenery so much.Truly beautiful images! 💙🏴💙
Hi Henry, another grand day out and thanks for sharing. WOW ... there's a trip that'll live long in the memory, and as for feeling somewhat overawed, you'd need a heart of stone not to feel something in such a location, or as I've heard said, you'd need a check up from the neck up! More super images and well done, such a lot of hard work, but so well worth it.
Always enjoy your videos Henry but this one was special... maybe because of how special the area is to you. Also loving the Advent series. Thank you for putting in all the "legwork" and behind the scenes work to bring us this amazing content. It's making my Advent season really special! Good day to you Henry! Peace & Joy to you! Donna Downey in Mississippi, USA
Some excellent shots in there. I am in Scotland so, yeah. 😉 I can relate so much to the middle section of this video. Hike to a preconceived shot and realise that there is a better angle round the corner. Grab a shot and run like a daftie for the next shot. Oh, it would be better from up there....all while the light is changing. Best part is that even if none of the shots work it is still a really good day out. Out.
Henry, you'd be very welcome to move here to Scotland. You're one of the few Englishmen who can say the word 'Loch' without sounding like you're struggling with a door. Come on home, you know it makes sense! 🏴👍😀
I feel about Ireland the way you feel about Scotland. Although my Irish heritage is much more distant than your Scottish, I felt something the first time I visited back in 2013 and I feel it every time I go back. I make that long trip across the Atlantic at least once a year, three times this year. I hate leaving and a little piece of my heart gets left behind each time. I visited Scotland for the first time this summer, primarily Skye and the Highlands. It is definitely a magical place but my heart and soul belong to Eire and I hope to retire there someday. Your enthusiasm is infectious. I can feel it through the screen and I can definitely relate. I love your channel and I greatly appreciate the work you put into each of your videos. I can't imagine the amount of effort required to put out daily videos for over 3 weeks. Put your feet up and relax for a while after Christmas!
Fantastic Henry, nailed those images... and the enthusiasm you show, even in the middle of a freezing cold night at -4 degrees C... Great videos too... 😊👍👌
Henry I love your passion for photography, and also for my homeland. I going to retire early next year, and will be following in your footsteps, in part the inspiration was your book of Scottish locations. Just keep doing what you are doing!
Watching a video from you feels just like being out there photographing ourselves, and I think that’s the real meaning of sharing your experience. Keep it on man ❤
There is just something so deeply authentic and joyful in watching your experiences. I sit here with the big C, itching to get out and immerse myself in the landscape but just can’t at the moment. Magnificent 😮. For me Cornwall especially the coastal paths around St Ives Bay
Lovely round there
Wow Henry! Your enthusiasm and your sentiment is absolutely to be admired Henry, well done on a brilliant video and your shots are fantastic also. My favourite.....the sun star..🎉🎉

I am with you on that sentiment Henry, Tears me apart when I have to leave!
Great video, you don't have to describe your feelings, your photography does all the talking for you. Awesome Henry, many thanks.

Enjoy loving Scotland...you don't have to apologise to us ...we are with you...but in my Irish head the Emerald Isles just more beautiful lol
I feel the same kind of affectionate connection with the danish westcoast. It just resonates well with my "inner strings".
I love this Advent series. Lost my heart in Scotland, would love to come back there again.
I grew up in Scotland so any time I return, I feel like I'm "coming home" and now especially since I've gotten into photography (you were one of my inspirations during lockdown), I really enjoy visiting with my camera.

Thanks for your excellent video. Love the Highlands. Scotland never lets you down, so many epic landscapes.

Stunning! Hope to see Scotland in 8 months...
Only 4:30 minutes in and already connected with you Henry
Understanding where the feeling of ‘love’ comes from and you are close to an answer you may be ‘looking’ for
I’ll crack on now to finish whats a little less than 23 minutes left 👍🏻
Thank you
Love as always your sincerity and appreciate your authenticity in sharing your pure joy in Scotland!
😍 love your sentiment... come back again and say hello!
Fantastic Henry, fully with you on the emotional response to that elemental prehistoric landscape 🙏😍
Love this mate... Genuinely. Tears watching you live the best life.
Phenomenal!!! I just love that you went back up for sunset, that drone image is EPIC! I love them all, outstanding work.

Fantastic set of images above and beyond your own expectations. Keep up the good work Henry and pass me a hankey to wipe my tears mate.
Many thanks
It's the Dolomites that do it for me, every time.
Another great video Henry. Spectacular location and stunning photos. I am enjoying your Advent photo journey.
Wow! So barren and yet stunning! Well done!
Panic Panos - they work! The drone sunset pano was very special and completed your great day.
Made me cry.
Amazing views Henry. Photographs were all stunning, would be hard pressed to pick a favourite.
Scotland is stunning, and you captured it with some really beautiful photography. Been there once, plan to go back. Love your enthusiasm.
Many thanks!
Your passion is obvious, Henry!
Great photo’s as ever Henry. Particularly liked the final black and white - had a lot of mood!
You are in my favourite spot on earth.....have sat on the slopes looking north to Suillven and Canisp,Quinag so many times it never ever fails to silence the mind ....and just be💕💕🙏🙏
Outstanding cinematography bud, simply masterpiece! 🔥🔥
I have very much the same feeling of Eryri (Snowdonia) in North Wales. I’m from the area and now live in South Wales. The whole of Eryri is so very special to me and know exactly how you feel. This has to be one of your best videos for me.
Thanks for sharing!
It really is!
Wow wow wow absolutely stunning. There are no other words thank u for sharing Henry
You are so welcome
Hi Henry, another grand day out and thanks for sharing. WOW ... there's a trip that'll live long in the memory, and as for feeling somewhat overawed, you'd need a heart of stone not to feel something in such a location, or as I've heard said, you'd need a check up from the neck up! More super images and well done, such a lot of hard work, but so well worth it.
Thanks 👍
Fabulous Henry and your photos did it all justice. I especially love the drone photo showing the light on the left. Cheers from NZ
I can relate so much to the middle section of this video. Hike to a preconceived shot and realise that there is a better angle round the corner. Grab a shot and run like a daftie for the next shot. Oh, it would be better from up there....all while the light is changing.
Best part is that even if none of the shots work it is still a really good day out. Out.
Stunnin' landscapes, Henry ! I'm curious where you'll take us tomorrow. Kind regards, Guy.
Today I learned the concept of a ‘panic-pano’ and I’m here for it. 😅
Thanks for another video Henry, wonderful images in a gorgeous location! Cheers for all of your hard work in making these videos, they are quality!
Henry I love your passion for photography, and also for my homeland. I going to retire early next year, and will be following in your footsteps, in part the inspiration was your book of Scottish locations. Just keep doing what you are doing!
Another epic video, Henners! Your passions and emotions are shared by all of us who join you on your amazing journey. Don't stop believing!
Thanks so much!
IMAGINE BEING SCOTTISH AND SEEING IT😊
Hi,
Joyous, just wonderful.
For me it's Dartmoor, visited hundreds of times before I left for the USA. Still miss the place.
Watching a video from you feels just like being out there photographing ourselves, and I think that’s the real meaning of sharing your experience. Keep it on man ❤
