Done the stac poll aide ridge about 20 times but only summoned up the courage to climb to the highest point once....when I was cajoled into it by a rock climbing pal. No other mountain in Scotland provides such a wealth of scrambling as the wonderful Stac Pollaidh.

Great video, I did Stac Polly a few years ago but wind was too strong to get to true summit but it was still a fantastic day.

I did this mountain with my mum when I was 6 or 7. She roped me up for the ridge section. I still remeber it well (I'm nearly 48) so its a bit over 40 years ago. It was nice to see the view from the top again, as spectacular I I remembered it to be. ☺️

    I. Saw an other clip that described Stac Polly as a good beginners mountain thanks for showing it’s a bit more than that

We did it in the snow, lost the path and it got steeper n steeper n steeper .Had to keep going with my knees and ice axe ,at one point got the shakes. When we topped some one came up next to us on a rope.
I was never so glad to be alive.I’ve done some of the trickiest ridges in the highlands but this mountain with its car park and nice steps at the start nearly finished me off .

14:33: "How the 'eck you supposed to get up that bit?!?" - spoken like a true climber; never for one moment considering you might NOT be supposed to get up it! 😁We salute you!

I climbed The Stac back in the late 80's and I remember there was a pinnacle that needs to be climbed to reach the summit, but I don't remember it being as hard as this looks. Maybe it was the exuberance of youth - but it was definitely cool to do and one of the best ever days out on the Scottish peaks. Great video btw - brought back a lot of memories EDIT* I made that comment at the start of this video, thinking that you were near the final climb - looks like you scrambled the vast majority of the ridge - good on you - I think we skirted a lot of that to the North of the ridge until the final push - great stuff - I must do this again.

    A few white knuckle bits.
Leaping across a gap was one of them.
Thank you for taking us along with you.

Just over the water from me. Think i bought Humber Bridge when it first opened. Done it 6 times a day more than once. Still use Humber Flyer as dont have my own wheels anymore
