- How do you build a car like this on such a tight budget? Luck! And some friends that are great at spotting deals.
Set up for drift and does it very well on a very small budget.
The car + most of the swap parts were included at $3500
T56, Fidanza Flywheel and SPEC clutch $2000
Teminator X $500 (after selling the Fitech that came with the car)
Free junkyard 5.3
And a few other stuff to make it a killer drift machine bring the total to just under $7000!

This dude is a hustler. The problem for most people is you won't find the deal you want nor have the patience for them to pop up. I would double the cost to build and still be okay with that. I would definitely pay the big bucks for a properly integrated wiring harness for a street car but that is my preference. I would love to have a car like this.
Yeah got to hustle to put something like this together on the cheap. Lots of patience and negotiating required. To be honest the Holley style standalone is the only way I would do it if I did it again. Although some friends have the wiring specialties harness and its nice to have everything integrated, the simplicity of Holleys system has saved my ass when it comes to troubleshooting to keep the car on the track. And I really wanted to have drive by cable.

Damn, $7k including the chassis and a T56 is insanely cheap. Nice work, l also have an FR-S and drift at BIR. Saw your car at the end of last season and it looked great. Hope to see you driving again this year!

@@roma_drifts I was on stock drive train the past two years but I’m currently swapping mine with a 1UZ. Hoping the extra torque makes it easier to drive.

Pretty much what I want to do. In search of my 2nd ride an nothing really interested me, Then I came across the Brz on accident an as a person that enjoys making the car my own creation, I think I might just do this. My main concern was the fitment an wire harness issues. Don't even have the car yet, but I think this is the direction I'm going to go. Might have to hit u up for some tips later on... nice build dude

Without the rocket bunny kit it would have fit those tires. Trust me I went through the same pain, even rolled fenders wouldn’t fit properly with wider tires/ wheels setups.

Damn 7k for the build ain't cheap but definitely isn't bad either probably similar cost to turbo or supercharger build but the ls would definitely hold more power and last longer
Well considering most get just the car for 7-15k, 7k total all set up and swapped is great in my opinion. Deffiantly right about it lasting longer, I've seen these pop at 50k Na .
A proper LS swap could cost you 30k plus. This is pretty cheap to be honest.

I havnt cut anything away just ziptied all factory harnesses up and out of the way.
Hey Roma, im researching on doing a budget swap my self and im wondering instead of buying a sikky oil pan for $800 i can just use the Canton Racing Road Race Series Wet Sump Oil Pan? which is around $350? Also could you elaborate a little more on the clutch master cylinder was it easy to swap in the one you did or did you have to modify it a bit more?
Also the oil filter doesnt have any cleareance issues either right i heard people saying you have to relocate it

Its 3M's GLOSS FIERY ORANGE the number is G364. I baught mine on ebay but if you search for that I'm sure there's plenty suppliers online!

What did you do bout getting power steering to work?
There is a wire you need to jump in the electronic steering assembly. Wildslide drift did it in the interior assembly video!

@@roma_drifts I live in Antigo, Wisconsin. I run A To B Auto Sales in Antigo, and I bought a 2013 frs at an auction as a new daily driver after selling my built 2013 Wrx. I’m thinking about doing an LS swap but do not have the guidance and I don’t think I’ll get as lucky with the cost 😂 Maybe I should just throw a turbo kit on it and just put some internals in it.

What are your wheel specs
18x10.5 +15 all around. 25mm spacer adapters in the rear and 15mm spacer adapters in the front.

@@roma_drifts you have to do I video on this everyone I’ve talked to says only run 9 wides. I’m going wide body soon and fdf angle kit is on it way.
@@kevinortiz5293 rubs some in the front at full lock, but I've been clearanceing whenever I notice new rub spots.
And I think the thing that really allows me to do it is the 2 inch extention of my lower control arm
