I still watch the Austin Powers movies from time to time. They came out when I was in Elementary School and I don't think people today realize just how big they were. Those movies were huge cultural events to be honest.
For real. Goldmember came out the same day as my bday while I was in middle school and took all my friends to see it and it was definitely an event.
You must be very young
@@Lapazy I'm 32 lmao. It's easy enough to do that math.. If Austin Powers came out in '97 and as I stated, I was in Elementary School you can probably come close to guessing my age.
Yea but they don’t hold up today imo.
@@bs1820 Eh, I disagree and I feel they hold up pretty well. I feel like the first movie was the best and each sequel was a notch down from the previous in quality and originality but I generally enjoyed them all and still do today.
Cat in the Hat is a timeless piece of art.
YES IT IS OMFG ONE OF MY FAVES!!!
🗿
@@louiswright8282 🦍
@@DaniiiDarko95 Mine too! 'The Cat in the Hat' is my favourite Mike Myers film.
I've seen the Austin Powers trilogy well over 50 times. Make one more Mike.
3 more
That would be awesome. Someone come up with some plots... maybe MM reads the comments section.
i have the trilogy on blu-ray. easily one of the funniest franchises from my childhood.
Haha nice! A series that never gets old
God no, Goldmember was just good enough to not be sad. We need Austin Powers 4 like we needed the Matrix 4
So happy to see Mike Myers back in the spotlight after so many years being absent. Truly one of the best and most entertaining actors.
How many people don't get the "You're worthy" thing. LOL 🤣 I feel old.
I hear ya.
Ditto.
🤭
Yeah, it's weird that I can meet someone in a bar, and it's like they have no idea where Aurora Illinois even is... It's sucking my will to live!
I'm so old, I've got spilchus in my genechtegeseunck.
MM is a comedy icon. Happy to see him back. Would love to hear his old SNL stories.
then listen to fly on the wall podcast he is a guest !
Yeah Carvery and Spade have a podcast.
@@tas22222 Thx I’ll check it out
the pentaverate a new miniseries now on netflix
Dude's had work done.
come back to us mike. Just a couple more movies!
He's on Netflix, the Pentaverate.
Loving it .. some parts are painfully truth and others crazy funny.
Made me realize how much I missed him.
Mike Myers is such a sincerely nice person. I just love him. Always have.
First saw Mike Myers in "So I Married an Axe Murderer", laughed so hard 🤣
A sadly underrated classic!
@@leightnite3056 Piper down, piper down... Laughed myself silly!
Harriet! Har-ee-et. Hard-hearted harbinger of haggis.
That is a cult hit. Love it.
"Head! Down!!"
I couldn't love Mike Meyers more...he is a Canadian comedic hero. Never mind Canadian...he is spectacular.
Appreciated yet no thank you. We will continue to fully brag that Canada and Canadians are far superior to all countries! Especially murica! But who isn't really? Russia is still loved more than the usa! Just saying!
I’m happy to see him back great actor I don’t think people appreciate how great of an actor he is congratulations mike your my hero buddy 🎉💯👑🐐
Austin Powers was the most corny cornball movie ever! that ruined his career. Best movie he never played in was Halloween.
Mike Birbiglia is my hero too
Mike isn't funny, witty or entertaining. He got lucky.
@@FERMBUDZZ Yeah Baby!
One of my fav comedians and Ryan Reynolds
I saw this, stopped halfway through, watched the Netflix show, then watched the rest of this. AMAZING
I love Austin Powers too but give The Pentaverate a chance. I'm a few episodes in and Mikes characters are so diverse and believable. The references to everything relevant are great and the cast is terrific.!
Yeah it’s terrible. I felt embarrassed for him. None of the characters are funny and the comedy is like a bunch of really bad puns & dad jokes. I somehow got through the first episode and just felt bad for Mike Myers. He should stop trying to be Peter Sellers.
Let's be honest. People only know that show exists because of shrek's cameo.
I thought it was a very fun, and quick, show! Kinda cute and light hearted while being raunchy as usual
Omg his movies used to be the biggest things growing up. He was like everything, the funniest actor, the biggest star at one point, the guy in the comments before me was right they were like a huge cultural event. Everyone was quoting the movie for a looong time after like it felt like a couple of years at least, his comedic genius took a while to wear off us as time went on. He was so well received, and enjoyable in every way. I miss those times
I say "How 'bout NO!" randomly around my family and friends. Never gets old!
Always 😂
My family's is "I got a whole bag of 'shush' with your name on it"
I will keep saying it until I’m out of breath.. we NEED another Austin Powers movie.
We need it bad
Austin Powers One Last Time.
But no Verne Troyer to be MiniMe though :'(
We need a sequel to cat in the hat, a shrek 5, and a finale to Austin powers.
I disagree. Austin Powers' character arc is complete. Anything else would be a retread or focus on a new character he would pass the torch to. All the humor came from Austin Powers being maladjusted to the modern day. He's adjust now.
From Austin Powers to Shriek. Mike Myers was a big part of my childhood!!! ❤️
I loved loved loved Shrek, I watched with my son a million times with my son when he was little. His stuff on SNL and movies are classic. And I agree that Al Pacino is super cool.😎
I went to see Austin Powers five times the Summer it came out, he’s such a hilarious actor from that time period I still can’t help but randomly quote him whenever I have the chance. “No we do not knaw on our kittys”
What a big waste of money that summer
"Lasers"
Classic, minime lmao
knaw?
@@FERMBUDZZ why are you even here? There’s a phrase in food and cooking, “don’t yuck someone else’s yum.” If Mr. Ryan considered that money well spent, who are you to detract from that? Did he owe you money or something?
Mike is a first class dude! A true Canadian treasure.
I’m so excited for this series. The world needs more Mike Myers content. We love you Mike.
This one hit me personally “when do you get to hang out with your brother for a full month when you’re grown up?”
Mike Myers is such an incredible performer. I love his work.
Mike Myers had a very important role in my life.
Hes your dad?
@@timdev615 no that's his dad's boyfriend
@@FERMBUDZZ lucky, my dad doesn't even have a bf
@@timdev615 No I watched his movie Austin Powers 3 when I was a child and that’s when I knew
@@phillipedwardness9591 wow that IS an important role
Mike Myers already ready for the sequel for FACE OFF if it ever happens.
He does look a wee bit like Elon Musk... is it just me seeing it?
Yes?
Ok.
edit: have now seen other responses - V I N D I C A T I O N
Sad to see he got face work as well.
Was justtttt gonna say that. He might have just had it recently. Notice how much he iiinda hides his botoxed immovable upper lip
Almost thought it was Hugo Chavez on the thumbnail
Mike Meyers means so much to us Kids who grew up thru the 90s!...& What a Gentleman he is 🙏
He is such a kind, genuine and funny person. He will always have a special place in my heart. I hope he's happy and living an amazing life, because he deserves that and more. Love you Mike Myers x
I was waiting for Mike to say his oldest son is his “mini me”
I love Mike Myers so much I'm so glad to see him I grew up on this guy's movies and I learned a lot.
He is a legend, i wish he’d do more Austin Powers movies.
I had no idea that the pentaverate was even a thing until I saw this. Netflix wasn't even promoting this to me. I had to actually search for it.
OMG! If MM is back, then that means the world is going to be okay! Please make another Austin Powers! I promise to laugh with every part of my being.
Hilarious comedian, absolute gentleman and Canadian treasure!
Love Mike Myers but I’m here as a well traveled New Yorker (living in the “greener” Westchester County) and an avid landscape photographer to say that Banff, Jasper and much of Alberta and British Columbia are some of the most awe inspiring places on earth. Cheers!
Thanks Adam, we really are lucky in Calgary. We've taken our kayaks and gone kayaking on Lake Louise for the afternoon. It's many people's dream destination and we take a few hours on a Saturday to enjoy. So incredibly spoiled.
I love the Austin Powers films for so many reasons, including how mad the character makes my British mum in law haha.
“We don’t all have teeth like that!”
Even though she totally does
Mike's a great guy and a very smart comedian. He has the ability to channel in on so many different characters and make it all work. Been a fan since the SNL days. Looking forward to “The Pentaverate”.
I love Birbiglia's stuff. Wouldn't have pegged him as a talk show host but he did great.
I think he should replace James Corden at the end of James' run next year. Mike Birbiglia sounds a little like Dennis Miller!
@@coreywindsor8898 Yes but I love Mike so much as a standup. Selfishly I would not like to see him leave, but he does seem like great talk show host material and I’m not a fan of James Corden.
I still have "so I married and axe murderer " DVD,,, " HEAD" love it
"Virtual planetoid" 😀
"The days are long but the years are short," Adam Sandler. Isn't that the truth though.
I saw the thumbnail and went "SHWING!"
The world needs more Mike Myers. Been a while, show was amazing. More please!
Mike is a great guy. Happy to see him! Will be checking out his new show tmrw 5/5!
I raised my son on classic comedies like Goldmember. He was 4 yrs old and I would ask him "do you want a shmoke and a payncake?..." and end with "... then there's no pleeesing you!"
and without a skipped beat he replied "that's naught roit!"
So excited to have him back making hilarious content, as he always does.
@johnSanders sounds like a serial killer name is that what you are?
Mike myers is such a legend and birbiglia is doing a great job as host. Love it. 💜
Wack!
Mikey's back!!!!! 🤩🥰 Long over due.. but glad he put in his time with his children.. as you can't get those years back!!! If you scroll his IMDB.. you see his very huge body of work.. but I think he has so much more left in him yet.. and his new project looks awesome. Can't wait to see it!!
A warm, masterful, enjoyable interview by Mike Birbiglia
please never stop, mike. lead your children down the same path. you have given us so much to be happy about in the last 25 30 years
I'll never understand why Mike Myers and Adam Sandler didn't collaborate. I'd LOVE TO SEE THEM DO IT in their 50s!!!!
Great idea! And there is still time hope someone influential reads this and makes it happen!!!
Meyers what a legend he never wants to quit!
I am a Gen X and I was lucky enough to grow up with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey on SNL! I absolutely freaking ADORE him! I cannot, however, imagine having 3 kids under the age of 10 at 58 years old. Omigosh…..just….ugh 🤦🏼♀️
It's not a problem for him..he did not birth them.. and he had nannies likely helping out.
he does not care what a random woman named JEANAE has to say LMAO
Better than being told getting knocked up at 14 is the best plan 😂
Everyone having kids under 25 cause they say it's better for you so you have more time when you're old.
Yeah.. what about your kids with a crappy and unstable upbringing 😂‼️
@@BonnieBeats My children did not suffer from me becoming a Momma at 23. I am not shaming him in any way whatsoever! I’m just saying from my point of view, I don’t have the energy anymore for young children that want to play all the time. I’m 46 and I’m happy they are grown into beautiful young adults now 😍
Mike Myers is a Canadian treasure.
Loved when he played his dad in Axe Murderer.
Heed!
Harr-ee-et!! She had a cat.... ☕️

I'm glad him and Dana finally buried the hatchet, such a great duo.
Same. It was sad hearing they had beef
Two mike's in one place pure awesome
Mike Myers funniest role was when he co-starred with Kanye at the Katrina Benefit.
Cool to see Mike Birbiglia guest hosting. His one-man shows are brilliant. Too bad he can't host this show every night!
Having a host ACTUALLY let the guest speak *chef’s Kiss* 👌🏾👌🏾
I think he should host this show next when Kimmel is done. He is an amazing host and super funny on the fly.
I think that Mike is infinity better than Kimmel, he did a great job! I think all he needs to do is get more comfortable with his guest so he could have more organic conversations but he's on his way already. He is very respectful asking his lead in questions and letting the guest actually do the talking. Again I think with time he'd get better. He'd be a great replacement for Cordan on the late late show.
He'd do a great David Duchovny impression with that voice.
Weird take... yet now cannot unhear.
First time i ever saw a celebrity in person i was 13 visiting NYC. Passed him randomly in the street and almost bumped into him. He smiled warmly and said hi. He just exuded niceness
It was Fabulous! You’re worthy! I even watch all the intros 😂😂 of the pentagorants 😂😂 LOOOOVE IT
"Canadain Covid" - It's nicer. _edit:_ And, YES, the *"Bohemian Rhapsody-head bang"* is genetically instinctual. I got to go to the premiere at my local theater. I was sitting in the back row, and the entire audience (including myself) did it upon first viewing. We were laughing at ourselves as much as at the scene. I'll never forget that for as long as I live.
Those are the shoes Shrek bought 😂😂😂
He is a lovely man. Love and best wishes to you, Mike Myers!
We are watching the first Austin Powers movie for tonight’s “awesome comedies” night and it still holds up. Still funny 😆 for people of all sorts and intellectual abilities.
Mike and Mike are hilarious together!!
I used to love The Kids In The Hall! Such a funny group & show.
They're doing a new show on Amazon Prime!!!
loved this interview. Some much positive and beautiful energy from Mike Myers man.
It is really good! Devoured the show! Thank you Mike for making another great comedy.
Whoa!- I’m an artist, & I’ve studied at 2 art colleges. His portraits of Queen Elizabeth are excellent!!
I taught a mask workshop for Del Close at second city in 1981 or so that included Mike. I thought, "Wow, what a shy, introverted young man." First impressions can be decieving!
I'm very close in age to Mike Myers.. I've watched not all but most of his films.. I've watched him on SNL when it was funny.. I really love his work.. He's an excellent comic.. Very smart and very funny.. He's always played many characters in his movies... I also live in Canada and my younger son also took classes at Second city and I took one set of classes there.. Improv is Very much fun
Austin Powers was one of his funniest movie series
I'm so glad Mike Myers is back making content again.
Interesting dynamic having a Canadian dad and kids from New Jersey
One of the best genius comedians of my day! Mike is the man!!🤙
i wouldnt be surprised o see Mike Birbiglia get his own late night show sometime in the near future
I was at the tapping of the show, awesome experience! Loved seeing Michael Myers!
My body is ready for a 4th Austin Powers movie!
Mike Birbiglia is a fun host and Mike Myers is so great. Awesome
What's he from? The host?

I really loved them trying to make the gong show a thing with him being a host
I would LOOOOOOOOOOOVE another Austin Powers movie
🤣🤣 omg hearing his impersonation of his daughter reminded me of his SNL skit "Simon" 🤣🤣 absolute LEGEND! I encourage everyone to look it up!! Lmao! " 'ello my ne is Simon..and I like to do d'rawrings" 🤣🤣
i am so happy that one of those small parts that didnt take him away from home was in Bohemian Rhapsody, definitely a great cameo/easter egg
"Lets see whats in my pockets" should become a national pasttime!
I would love to see another Austin Powers! Imagine that character operating today :D
Omg the jokes would be even crazier
Austin Powers: alright people let’s do this one last time.
For real tho, I’m such a huge Mike Birbiglia fan that I’m really happy for him getting to host such a big show. I’ve been following him for years so this feels like watching a distant cousin get on tv. Myers looks like. the Jackle!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Birbigs!!!!!
Isn't there a line in "So I Married an Axe Murderer" where Mike's character's mom says something about the world being ruled by a secret society called "the pentaverate?"
Yes there definitely is!!! Thought the same thing.
Yup, Charlie's (Mike Myers) dad (Mike Myers) rattles on about a conspiracy of the 5 people who run the world. Colonel Sanders was one of them. :D
As soon as I saw the title on Netflix, I started watching it!
Yes, he talks about this on the SMARTLESS podcast :)
My first impression was that he MUST play Elon Musk whenever that happens ... and it will.
Good god, that could be a comedic masterpiece!
😂😂 @5:40 that’s exactly what I’mma tell my kids in the future
Mike B’s eyes are so bright & pretty. I didn’t know of him b4 this, but I like him. Good job👏🏽👏🏽✌🏽.
I grew up on Austin Powers. This man is a legend 👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
Don't give up, man, we're waiting for Austin Power to strike one more time:)
One of the comedy greats ...always loved all his work
I never realized I've needed Mike Myers and Ken Jeong in a show together until having received it.
He looks like current Axl Rose's younger brother
I love this interview, reminds me of puberty.
MIKE AUSTIN POWERS YOUR DAD LOVE!!
Mike Birbiglia is very good at this!
