That ending was truly creepy, on top of all the other things, eyelids sewn shut, half your body missing, you’re shut up in small box, for someone who is claustrophobia, that is truly creepy! Definitely Creepy for Me, thank you Dr. for those stories!💖💖💖

I assume that the jack-in-a-box was a person, and the box itself is one of those kinds of curses that you have to pass on to someone else, so now the Jack that attacked Deacon might either take over Deacon's life, or be free as the person it was originally, or it passed on and likely went to hell.
Or killing people and turning them into toys is how demon toys reproduce.

Kinda reminds me of The Space Above the Closet! This type of stories are some of my favorites, give the nasty thingy a motivation. Plus you can see how the character, whom the reader has come to like, might go evil/batshit crazy next.

it should be said, I love repairing old items,machinery and gadgets... especially toys. so this story made the creep levels go considerably higher!

Plot twist!
The Jack in the Box was the same inhabitant as "The Space Above The Closet".
This is a very interesting subject/theme that has become a occurrence in these cryptic tales; a force possessing an inanimate object/space taking possession of a human soul. Short film "Alma", reminds me of this story very much.

Oh YES! I stayed hooked until the end. When the lil' iniquitous box and its inhabitant starting waking and giving him a final warning, then told him TAG, YOU'RE IT in more actions or less, it was like seeing a really horrific train accident to speeding to impact in 8 seconds. OMG! Can't believe it! Dr. Creepen, Something different happened yrs ago, with a old Jack-in-the-Box at a place where ppl close the streets and ppl can bring furniture, trinkets, junk and sell it for bit of money. There was an old, beat up J.B. When I pick it up, I felt an uneasy feeling of dread. Turn it over and it had that same sign, with some kind of funny looking writing on it. I put that thing down! And here comes this little girl with her mother. the little one grabs the box and tell her mother she wants it. I move to the mother side for the little one and the man who selling it won't hear me and I tell the mother don't buy it and to look under the box. And she laughs in my face and tells me she don't believe in that stuff. And proceed to embarrass me in front of other ppl. And ppl are listening to what she is saying and u can tell that some of them that are not laughing with her are looking at her with a look of disbelief that she is taking money out to buy it. I said u nuts! I just walked away! I ran into that woman a week later same place, looking for the man that sold her the box. I don't believe this my cell battery saver thingy is messing up as usual and no it don't got nothing to do with what I was writing about. Be back to fill u in on what she told me! God Bless!
