- It feels like it's been an awfully long time since any of you joined me round the fire; I've been lonely! I suppose it's my own fault for not inviting you... so time to make amends!
What better way to gather you all together than with this fantastic tale of the journey to true horror... I hope the ending surprises you as much as it did me.

the accent makes the atmosphere all the more perfect, given the subject matter. to hear this man say 'rural', for instance, is reminiscent of relatives I have long since forgotten. subscribed, absolutely.

A story that starts out as your typical, Tall Man monster tale, but then turns out to be... Kinda symbolic? Quite unique.
When I found this story I was certain that dozens of other narrators must have already done it; I was surprised that no one ever had.

The 'campfire' videos are my favourite. The sound of the crackling in the background is both entrancing and relaxing.
I haven't done one for a while, I was making it my Friday theme for a while and I must get back to it! It only works with certain stories, though.

It's amazing that there's always a little clearing in so many of these stories when actually you see very few if any in the woods
We are absolutely capable of monstrous and terrible things, and then something comes along and gives us just a little push, and out comes our own monster. It’s in all of us, but most people have either never seen it or have found a healthy way to channel it so it doesn’t ever get too close to breaking out. Wonderful story Dr.! I honestly didn’t see that end coming, maybe I could have, but I like to enjoy the ride instead of playing detective.
The only thing I found weird was him killing his father what's the point he is going to die. lol
This was one of my favorite, if not my # 1 favorite creepy pasta and thank you so much for being the one to narrate it, your work is truly appreciated good man! Much love and keep up the amazing work!

Man... thats deep... I in a hot bath for three hours thinking about this story.... phenomenal narration... I then re listened on my speakers..... very well done.. it makes you think.... inside all of us, there is light and dark.... we choose our own destiny.... im bent over my type writer now (yes I have a type writer) I have Crosby Stills and Nash live at Woodstock 94 playing on my speakers... its thundering outside... I have my lamp on.... I may send a story in now... excellent work.... excellent... ill transfer it to computer after.... I still need to send you those pics of my speakers

It was a very interesting insight into what true horror is: perhaps anything humans can do is worse than our imagined monsters.

It's weird, this one: the most logical reason actually turns out to be a shock in the end.

Excellent, superb! Not the typical woooo scary monster in the dark, but a perfectly paced excursion through time and space, and into the depths of the darkness of the soul.
At first glance, I thought this was a Lovecraft story. After listening, I realize that it's not, but it's every bit as horrifying! Well done! (Also, welcome back, Dr. You've been missed.)
It has a contemporary Lovecraftian feel to it, doesn't it?
Dr. Creepen Somewhere between Lovecraft's "Fear The Eldritch Horrors From Beyond" and King's "The Most Terrifying Monsters Exist Within Ourselves." Plus the ubiquitous Lovecraftian themes of madness and secrets and deathbed confessions. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Ok this is my new favorite creepy/scary story channel! The audio quality is excellent, the stories are mostly more than ten minutes, and he does a damn good accent change on this particular story. I applaud dr. Creepen for all the hard work on his videos/ readings.
I love the accent, a mix of your normal accent & a light tinge of a Southern drawl. It reminds me of the accents used by an actor in a classic Hollywood film (i.e. Gone With the Wind) - I love it & it’s very fitting for this story... despite the setting being Connecticut, apparently.

I thought it was refreshing that what would be the most likely scenario in such a case turned out to be exactly the cause... and yet was pretty much a surprise.

Great accent. The only thing that always creeps through from England is "sawr" for saw. I first noticed it from Robert Plant in his singing. I think it's :-).

Dr. Creepen you nailed the accent, added a much deeper quality than most other readings have, and you went the creole route which is a hard accent to do even for some of us in the US

To EmpyrealInvective: I once saw some artwork depicting the battle you and your little friend were jabbering about. My thought about the Killer Klowns' enemies was that they would be good and ugly, and the Chiodo brothers created such an enemy in the form of the makeover they gave the Sleestaks in the early 90s revamp of Land Of The Lost.
Please pass this crazy idea along and maybe the Chiodo brothers themselves might get wind of it.

This idea has been rolling around in my skullpan for years.
To clarify, the version of the Sleestaks I speak of look like evolved dinosaurs.
That's was DOPE! Amazing end superbly written written and narrated. Imo it started out as typical scary monster story told interestingly ended up being a deep mindfuck that'll keep u thinking about for days. Well done doc. And how is it no other narrators have read this gem. I'm glad cuz I couldn't imagine anybody but the infamous Dr to share this one with us.im about to go to bed and that just filled my head with nightmare fuel. LOVE IT!!

It's not that he doesn't assume that the boys are going to harm each other, but hearing them play that ritual brings up the memory of what he'd done.

Great story Doctor, I liked the thought provoking conclusion of this story, it's definitely true, everyone has the capacity for good and evil, and when the evil side shows through, it's more scary than any monster

You know, a lot of this early stuff, I stopped at 3:44, it got into the millennium mindset largely from writing classes, but they got it from the cryptid community , basically because of a returned soldier who was a distant relative but a dear friend of Uncle Clay, the tall burned man with a bit of a way of being where needed, Indrid Coe. I thank the author for mentioning his service to his country. I know the story may not take his character to a good place. But someday, I hope someone will let me tell the truth.
