I wonder if SC is meant to be more like a community server. I've played another game on servers where the "original" gameplay didn't matter - things like quests and progression were meaningless. Instead it was all about being a trader, or miner, or explorer (selling map info) etc... This kind of experience was the best gaming experience I've ever had. It's all about living in the world, and it became what the community made out of it. Now S.C. is MUCH better looking and the perfect space game, but I'm getting the same vibes... I'm a little worried, though, that "pirates" would become somewhat of a problem/disruption. The freedom of the internet is often problematic like that... ;)
I agree, one of the best gaming experiences I ever had was when I started playing rust. That element of just being left to do what you want, with a loose guide of expectations but no overall objective except the ones you create yourself. It makes for an incredible sandbox and this is pulling out all the stops to give us the framework for that.
It’s also true that there has to be some form of retribution for those who abuse the environment, maybe even a long time out in jail where they can’t play for a while
Im at this poi t in the series and iv only just completed the tutorial in game...i ended up on port tressler... didnt bring my suit or helmet with me lol. One queation... are you supposed to find accommodation to log out or just quit game anywhere in station?
Eventually it will change but right now you can log out at any point and you will wake up at your local station. It’s a bit cheesy if you do it from a cave to save a return trip but viable. Won’t always be like this
