Lol that's good MPG. I used to get around 4-5 MPG when I went balls to the wall in mine. I only had a few mods and a mild tune tho.
Scott Grossman it uses more fuel than an average sedan and it has not so much cargo capacity. Other than that, it is flawless
If Tanner Foust and Jeremy Clarkson say the Evo is better than the STI shut up and agree, theyre right.

+nh skiier Depends, if you're looking at the WRC Subaru beat them in 95-97, 99-00, 02-05 and Mitsubishi beat Subaru in 98 and 01 though the Evo's are most of the time faster on the track.
I mean it's all up to who's driving. Tommi Makinen won the drivers title 4 years in a row for Mitsubishi. There's still more successful manufacturer's than Mitsubishi and Subaru in wrc but yeah aside from being awesome on dirt, evos do really well in things like hill climbs and on tracks

Evos are AWD without snowmode, they drive fine in the snow without it considering it wasn't even in a evo till the Evo 7. It just changes the Active Center Differential to behave differently in snow, you know a advanced technology that Slowbaru's don't have.@@shatl_bar_king

He does both rally racing and drifting. They did an episode with him trying to drift a limo, food truck, bus, and an RV. They also did an episode with Tanner Foust's rally car beating the world record for fastest speed inside. And if you wanna talk stunt devil type shit he was the one to drift in place of the main character for Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Is there anything that Tanner Foust can't do?

Evo>Sti. Plain and simple. Best all around statistics, and stock vs stock, an evo all day. It really comes down to driver preference, But when mods come into play, Evo owns. No doubt about it.

Top Gear USA is nothing like the English Top Gear. This is all scripted.
In order for him to drive the way he is driving (legally), the roads have to be closed. The parts where he is in traffic, he is acting, the parts where he is driving awesome, the roads are closed and then the pieced the footage together. Did they really have a camera in the bus that he passed?? doubt it, they got that shot later.
As for the last shot, the car cannot dry off that quick.
Also notice the weather. It is very cloudy when he is driving in the snow, then when it cuts to the dry car, it is very sunny outside.
Scripted bs. Top Gear USA sucks.

It's an editing thing, some scenes are shot to be used in areas that make for a good/interesting video. Probably wasn't needed but they threw in a shot of him slide stopping the car . My guess.

Its snow it will melt next to warm areas and to mention its slippery the g-force will remove the rest...

I drive my Evo in Canadian winters and it goes through anything with snow tires on of course. The computer works amazing and if you want to drift with the awc off it is extremely well balanced and controlled. Not knocking the subies but just speaking from my own experiences.
I wish Top Gear and TopGear USA came back and did more of these kinds of races.

just went through this horrific and bitter cold, i've owned 5 Evos and from 8's, 9's and now X...they are an extreme vehicle perfect for any weather, any road and suitable for any driver (unless your over 6' 4")...have to hand it to Mitsu for Evo's capabilities...wish they will release the next evolution!?

That’s the original wing design for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. This wing was also used on the Lancer GTS models. After 2008 the wing was replaced for a taller one on the Evolution models.

I like how at the end of the race, one moment there's snow caked all over the evo and it's overcast and then the next moment it's sunny and the car looks like it just came out of a car wash.
That's showbiz baby, it's pretty sad that the editors thought they could pull that one over us.
And, look at the sky when it shows the two skiers. Its super cloudy and then all of a sudden its sunny skies.

they film the race twice, one for the actual results then a fancy one for nice camera shots and what not, that is why you see inconsistencies in the shots, though an editor should have noticed that

I love my Evo 8. I have had it for 16 years, has 160,000 mi, still has original block and head, runs twin pump methanol injection system with 4 each jets, boosts to 29 psi, other mods: GSC S2 cams and a BBK full turbo
Symblistic May did reach top speed in a Veyron... plus he opted for a 24 hr le mans inspired Aston w/o windows or A/C for a tour across southern France in the summer
