Can't exaggerate how helpful this is. Thanks on several levels: tasteful, soothing, low-key background music, easy-to-follow step-by-step instruction (with repeats-thanks), great intro to color grading for Fuji. Gracias!
dude this is so helpful! I'm a new X-T3 user for video, so I really really appreciate your video samples/color grading/gear demo videos! Please continue!
SalComuna for sure. Thanks a great way to do it. I’m so use to nodes that when I’m working in layers I’m just stacking and stacking hahahahaha. I try not to break the original footage if at all possible, especially since most the times I’ll be replacing the proxies. Thanks for the input.
Hey this is great. Thank you for posting. No xt3 yet here. For me it’s xt2 and xh1. But it’s nice to see your workflow especially since it is Fuji specific. This will be a great reference video for me.
Sierra Creative - awesome I’m glad to hear you still like it given you have the xt3. I had to send my xh1 in for repair and never really used it until just recently as the autofocus was really messed up. It is however like a new camera now and the most recent updates are even better. The xt3 is in my near future. But seeing your xeen lens video is quite tempting.
Kepano 808 I’m shooting mostly on the X-T3 now. I have a great monopod and a Ronin S .. the ronin I have a love hate relationship with. With that said.. I don’t really miss the X-H1. I’m hoping Fuji will just make the X-H2 a super 35mm cinema camera! Ha
Polani Almoni the Ronin S is nice in terms of build and app tech, but it’s weight and balance seems just off to me. It does seem to work better with a heavier camera on the rig, but lighter cameras almost cause a weight ratio swing across the ergo of the gimbal. I have balanced motors, tried different power settings, etc... I just can’t always get that super smooth feel without maximum effort. I came from the Crane 2 and Tilta G2 and I felt both of them just were smoother with less effort. The problem I had with both those gimbals was their UI or lack of app for tuning ... but at the end of the day .. I think I miss them! Ha
Alexis Stember Coulter i definitely use the histogram to expose. Generally I like to overexpose by one stop, but in really bright conditions I’ll just expose for the scene. F-LOG is great to work with!
@@SierraCreative Awesome, thanks! I have been shooting in super bright conditions so this is helpful. Just been trying to keep from clipping my skies. Love your work and all your tutorials. Massively appreciated.
Richard Randolph I agree, but with 10bit you get so much movement in your files as well! Not just in Dynamic Range.. but in color. The F-LOG is used to give you the most dynamic range possible when shooting... sometimes you don’t need it. I’ve seen more people ruin log footage because they didn’t know how to shoot it or grade it. But yes, it’s amazing to work with in post if you know what you’re doing.

runbei glad it helped! Thanks
You are not the reason the delete button was made. This is awesome! Makes me wanna shoot more!
What about colour gamut conversion? F-log uses wider colour gamut than rec709/srgb. Dont you need to compress that to get nice saturation?
What about maintaining the REC2020 color space with your LUTs?

Berk Kiziltug thanks you !
Hi, Is it possible to use this LUT with a X-E3 and ProNegStandard ? - Thanks
I usually do the Color Correction on the original clip and the Color Grading on the adjustment layer.

How well do the LUTS work for the Eterna profile?

Chris Ronan I’m glad it helped! I love the X-H1 by the way!!!

Great informative video thanks
Thank you!
Does it work in fcpx
Are you using the XH1 or XT3 more? I sold my XH1 and moved to XT3. Also, are you handheld video shooting on XT3 and missing IBIS?

@@SierraCreative what about the Ronin S you don't like? is it not smooth enough with the xt3?

@@SierraCreative Is the Weebill Lab compatible with the XT3 yet? That seems like a perfect combo.
Kepano 808 not sure. The crane 3 looks interesting.
This is great. How do you expose for F-Log, particularly in a run and gun situation?

Have you experienced overheating with the XT-3?
Stephen Weems none. I haven’t even heard of anyone having this issue. My X-T3’s have been solid.
Trying to buy the luts but it's all blanc on the website?
Philip Avesand are you at sierracreativeco.com - it’s all up and running
