I was Carnivore 2 years still drinking diet soda. I quit 10 months ago as I was having gallbladder attacks, and diet soda was clearly my trigger. No more gallbladder attacks. Do not under eat. Especially if you are someone that is really concerned about losing weight. You might think you will need to watch your calories on carnivore because that's what you are used to on the standard American diet. Under eating will just make you feel hungry all the time, sink your energy, and slow your metabolism. I was intentionally under eating for months and I started feeling really bad and carb cravings came back, not to mention that my weight loss slowed. Once I started just eating as much as I wanted and didn't worry about it I started not only feeling much better but I started to lose weight again without having to starve myself. It's nearly impossible to be overweight on carnivore. Just trust your body.

When I go to Aldi (weekly), I buy anywhere from 12-20 boxes of their Appleton Farms pre-cooked bacon. I get looks from other customers and from the checkout people, but I don't care. I do share some of it, but even if I ate it all myself, so what? It's delicious. It's cheap. It's convenient. The only other food that's comparable is beef jerky, but it's WAY more expensive, doesn't have enough fat, and it's super hard to find one that won't break my teeth or have sugar. Purse Bacon for the WIN!

So interesting. Yes I swapped my carb cravings for clothes shopping without realising it. This happened when I struggled with fasting. So I’d tell myself when I was in town and felt the urge to buy chocolate and pastries “I am fasting today so I will reward myself with buying this dress - not with sugar” then I’d buy the dress, feel great and walk home with it telling myself “you can’t put a price on health” for the money I’d spent and then for some strange reason later I found it easier to get through to the next morning still fasting.
I need to think what I can do for carnivore cravings 🤔

Since going carnivore my appetite has become almost nonexistent and I struggle to eat anything. If I have a dairy craving, I am absolutely going to run with that dairy craving and allow myself to eat as much of the dairy as I want, because it is the only thing that wakes up my appetite and gets me back to feeling any desire to eat red meat.

I can't bring myself to eat seafood yet to try the sardine fast, but I have done the egg fast and love it!! I noticed significant changes a day or 2 AFTER I ended the 3-day fast. I have been mostly carnivore since January and it has helped me tremendously-- but losing only 20lbs in 5 months was discouraging. So I started including the "old" foods in June which is bringing back my issues (blood sugar, inflammation etc) and not helping with furthering my goals (It's crazy the constant mind cycle). I'm going strict carnivore July 5 (my sister is going to do it with me) but am definitely doing the dopamine tip beginning today. I want to feel amazing and lose the weight I've been struggling with since age 18 (TWENTY years now!).

Ok, a little update. I ended up doing the egg fast July 5-11, and lost 3.8kg (a little over 8lbs, 98.8kg-95kg). What I was really excited about was my fasting blood sugar levels going from 7.7 to 4.8. I know I still need to heal my body before expecting all the weight to melt off in a week (sorta kidding) so my goal is to do carnivore for 100 days (October 13). I currently have not incorporated any exercise, but know my body needs it, so will start walking daily. I will take measurements again at each month mark. Will also start using carb manager because I may be under eating/not hitting my macros of 80/20. Thanks for all your tips and videos, Kelly! I have 2 teen boys and my husband at home who can (and do) eat however and not be affected 😢 but I've been keto/carnivore for 2 years and felt amazing.....but lately have reincorperated things I know I shouldn't eat and I'm paying for it. These tips are very helpful for a reset!❤❤ Thank you Kelly!!❤❤

Loved this video also. I think I watch too many influencers and what I really need is to join a coaching group and get myself some structure! I want things to be simple but this video revealed that we may experience results differently from others doing the same dietary things. I honestly needed to hear that. I feel like I should know all of this but I have to accept that I truly need the guidance and experiences of a carnivore tribe!

At age 54, it is very hard to eat enough on the carnivore way of eating, I just get too full too fast. I always stall out. I’ve started eating Greek yogurt and incorporating all beef protein powder (eating way more calories), and now the scale is starting to go down. 🙏

I had the same problem and I just made myself eat more. Then instead of stalling, I started gaining. Went back to eating less and still wasn’t losing. I stayed stalled for months and then started gaining a lot. I decided to stop carnivore over my birthday after a full year and 3 months. That birthday turned into 3 months and I gained all 35# back that I had lost the previous year. I’m almost a week back into strict carnivore. I’m 1 pound down. 😢

The dopamine redirection tip was genius - never heard that one before but it makes a lot of sense. My nite time craving that I indulge in are for sugar free chocolate chips and walnuts that I soak and dehydrate. Usually I just count them out and limit myself to a few - but every now and then they get the better of me...other times its Rebel chocolate ice cream. Neither of these is really doing me any favors even with moderation. I am going to try the sardine tip for testing this redirection idea - Thank you!
For my morning decaf coffee I make a 12 oz bone broth drink which I started for my recovery after a workout: I use Paleo Valley's unflavored GF bone broth powder and add leucine & glycine amino acids, mct powder, 1/8 tsp each of celtic salt & potassium citrate, with 1 tsp fermented cacao, some cinnamon and allulose and 2 TBS lactose free 1/2 & 1/2 (for calcium). This gives me 17 gm protein and tastes great. I recently began drinkng it every day (without the extra aminos) and find it helps me reach my protein macros.

@@philipfenton-ree5131 I mix 5 grams of salt into 500 grams of ground beef. (I like it with a bit of fat in it for good flavor) I mix it and squish it a bit with my hand so that it's nice and sticky.
Then I pat it out on parchment paper and lay a second piece of the paper on top.
      Roll that thin.
Remove the top paper and lay that on my oven tray. (I don't have a dehydrator so I use my oven)
I am still perfecting the temp and times but I basically cook it very low, but I googled the appropriate temp for dehydrating meat.
I do that for 15 min or so...until the meat has a cooked look.
Then I lower the temp more and go for a few hours.
I check occasionally and mop up any moisture or fat that puddles.
Once that side looks like fruit leather, I place another parchment paper over the top and flip it.
A few more hours low and slow gives it a nice beefy flavor.
I let that cool down in the oven to dry out a bit more...
Then I cut it up with cooking shears.
You can keep going on a higher temp until it's crackers but I find those too dry and not as yummy.
I storage in the freezer because I keep some fat in.
But they can stay for hours out of the fridge and are perfect for travel. Super light weight, filling and yummy!
