I have wanted so badly to be Inuitive and I have tried to go back to that a few times. The good news is that I seem to be able to maintain my weight with intuitive eating, I'm getting pretty good at that! 😅 But for weight loss I seem to need to keep an eye on the macros and keeping my fat macros to 60%-70% while knowing what my TDEE is for weight loss (10% deficit). It's not what I love doing but it works when I'm willing to do it!

I have been eating carnivore intuitively for three years. I’m 65 and 5’7. The first month I dropped about 7 lbs of water/inflamation. The next 5 months, I lost zero pounds but most of my health issues improved dramatically or went away completely (depression/anxiety, joint pain, swelling in low back/spine, gum issues, horrible hip pain, allergy symptoms, gastric reflux, GI issues: bouts of constipation/ diarrhea, vomiting, and more). I didn’t change anything because I knew I was healing and felt awesome. I continued intuitive eating and, over the next 6 months, lost 40 pounds. At the three year mark, I’m 133lbs, the same weight I was in my very early 30’s, before I started gaining the weight and inflammatory problems started. I’m amazed by what I see in the mirror and how I feel. My CAC score is 2.38 and, so far, all of my cardiac testing is clean. My LDL is, of course, elevated at 238 and I don’t care. The rest of my bloodwork is excellent. I just recently had this work up done as a follow up as I had heart/ lung issues after getting Covid in March of 2020. The changes in the CT scans of my heart and lungs from 2 years ago are remarkable. My healing/results are remarkable, something my cardiologist says he’s never seen before. He keeps asking me things like, “you don’t eat beans or rice?”, LOL. 🎉

I'm a 62 yo woman, lost 100 lbs over the past 27 months as an intuitive ketovore. I don't weigh, measure, or count anything besides grams of total carbs. Even the weight loss number is an educated guess. This simple approach has worked magically for me, but I can certainly see where more numbers-oriented persons would benefit from closer monitoring and feedback. There's more than one way to go about the proper human diet, we each have to figure it out for ourselves. Thank you Kelly for all your wonderful guidance :D

That was almost exactly what happened to me. I don't know if this will help you, but it broke the stall for me. I upped the fat to 80%. I did that without too much thinking by doing this: I made a meatloaf with 3 # of 80/20, seasoning, 2 eggs and 3 cups of Walmart PorQ Italian seasoned panko. I counted the total calories of the ingredients, as well as fat and protein. Then sliced, weighed and packaged for 2 meals a day. I shaped and baked on a cookie sheet and poured all the fat into a jar to keep. For me, it worked out to 2 meals a day with 2 slices and 1 T. of melted fat drizzled over each slice. (Found out 1 T. of the beef fat and 1T. butter worked best. (Loosey Goosey with 2 T. rendered fat) It was a really good meat loaf! No thinking about what to cook for 2 to 4 days and very satisfying. I lost 5 #'s in a week after a 4 month stall. Best of luck. p.s. I also sometimes substituted homemade mayo for the fat portion. I liked that on cold meatloaf sometimes. :)

I dropped 35 lbs quickly, then stalled for months.
I broke the stall by removing all dairy and pork rinds. No cheese, no snacking. Dropped another 14 lbs in 2 weeks.
Broke another stall by cycling through OMAD for a week or so (not sustainable for me) then TMAD for a couple weeks.
Biggest thing was being honest with myself about how much I was eating, and what I was eating.

My journey has been long, curcuitous and complex. I've had insulin resistance since I was a child. Dr. Atkins 1999 book "the New Diet Revolution" saved me from disaster over 20 years ago. I managed my condition with low carb, keto and intermittent fasting for over two decades with varying degrees of success/failure. About 11 months ago I started carnivore. I've lost over 20 pounds and am within a few pounds of ideal body weight for a 52 year old male. I have never consistently counted macros but I lean towards 60 percent fat and eat approximately 2000 calories a day. Best thing that's ever happened to me. And it was none other than Kelly Hogans interview with Dr. Berry that got me started!

I’ve always wanted to be intuitive with my eating. I’m 67 and have been a yoyo dieter since 2nd grade when I realized I was fat. 🤷‍♀️. I went on carnivore August 12, 2023 to lose for my granddaughter’s wedding. I had counted calories from Jan 1 2023 and had ridden my bike with my sister 1000 miles walked over 100 miles. I lost 7 lbs. One day while riding my sister told me about you. I went home that day and watched your Ken Berry interview. I started carnivore the next day. I had lost 13 on carnivore by the wedding (Oct 21). Fit into my dress and felt amazing!!! I have since lost 10 more (naturally) now down 30. The first 20 were my normal low. I never expected to lose 10 more. From August 12 to Dec 31 of 2023 I did not eat any carbs. No cheese, cream, even stopped my coffee. I started my coffee back jan 1 - love it black. I don’t count anything - will now very occasionally have a few blueberries, strawberries, maybe cup of watermelon. But total of maybe 7 times total. I don’t count anything. I eat more than my husband. I was always a snacker but no more. I absolutely LOVE the intuitive eating. I feel totally food free. My weight never changes over 2-3 lbs throughout the week. Would change 6-7 before. I NEVER feel bloated. My mind always played tricks on me. When I felt fat I felt defeated and wanted to eat. No more. I just eat when I’m hungry. I don’t want dementia. So I do use a keto mojo to ensure I’m in the GKI index a few days a week. I do the sardine fast often and i often do OMAD during the week while I work. Just don’t need food. Love my new food freedom life. Thank you for what you do. Love the Saturday short clips.

Kelly, I really appreciate you! I’ve been intuitive Carnivore since 27FEB24. At 68 years of age, I had well over 100#’s to loose. I’m down 43#’s, the first 20, came off very quickly and I continue to loose in fits and spurts. I now have less than 100#’s to loose😊. I’m so HAPPY! I’m calm, centered and currently am in a loss mode. My activity has improved greatly, though I’m still not consistent with daily movement. My mind is so much clearer, I loose my words MUCH less. My sleep is BETTER, though still needs improvement. I’m weaning off of my blood pressure medication. My lab work is now ‘Normal’. My body fat composition has gone from 49% to 34.5%, so I think that means I’m not losing muscle. I still don’t really track, though I love that you’ve taught us how easily it can be done. I have added Allulose & heavy cream to my coffee, after my first meal of the day. That’s a lovely treat for me, that doesn’t make me want to carnivore binge.
I WAS a grazer, eating all day long. Binge eater, carboholic. NOT an abstained. Eating a lot of vegetarian foods, though not vegetarian. Mostly Pescatarian. Just NOT a meat fan. Thankfully, I learned I could subsist on mostly ground beef and lamb from you. Twice a week, my ground beef includes liver in the blend. A steak every now and then, is a nice change. I NOW naturally eat twice a day, about 6 hours apart. I do try not to eat sooner than 4 hours before bedtime, I sleep MUCH better then. I cannot eat any seasoning other than Grey Celtic Sea Salt, which I also put a teaspoon in every 40oz container of RO water that I drink. I’ve done one 72 hour sardine fast, and plan another in August. I just did my first 24 hour water fast, it came about naturally, not planned. I had an amazing mental health cleanse that came through it, that manifested in a great cry. July is usually a very difficult month for me, as I’ve had three great losses in my life in this month, son-42, mother-10 and husband-4 years ago.
I do use cheese as a condiment a couple of days a week. Cream Cheese is my friend. I also add brown mustard to things from time to time. I learned early on, that full-fat, plain Greek yogurt makes me want to binge. I have cut out all supplements besides Pure brand, Magnesium Glycinate, I find I need less than when I first started this Carnivore journey. I do get a massage once a month, and float in a float tank of high magnesium salts monthly, also. This is pain management for me for my lower back and neck, from old injuries. I no longer take anti-inflammatory medications. I also have a far-infrared pad, that I use on those two areas less and less. Learning to sleep w/out anti-inflammatories, for pain, was difficult for me, but now have overcome that.
I hope this helps someone. I’d like to become a coach, though I have no idea how that works. I do now have three people in my life, that are eating this way. I began the journey alone, so I joined Kelly’s group in March & April. She’s truly a wonderful teacher. I learned a lot from her. I continue watching RUclips’er videos a lot. I’ve read great books by Dr. Ovadia, Dr. Boz, Dr. Bikman, Dr. Wm Davis, Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker & Judy Cho. I get them on Audible also, and listen whenever I’m not able to read. Like when I’m cleaning, walking, sometimes working, as my job is physical, and often allows me to do that.
Whether, you’re in this journey, or about to begin, there’s such great info out there. Enjoy your journey.

I had a complete Hysterectomy at age 29 because the doctors in my area are idiots. If I had only just eaten meat and fat, I wouldn't have gone to the doctors. I wouldn't have needed to. 3 years ago I went to an endocrinologist because I was aging rapidly in every way. He put me on Biest (estrogens), testosterone and progesterone. I also take Levothyoxine. I didn't have weight problems because eating was painful for my gut, so I didn't eat a lot. Once I started taking these hormones I gained 20 lbs in less than a month and I felt miserable. I was bloated all the time. I got on carnivore, and the bloating was still there. I couldn't get rid of the bloating no matter how little I ate or what I ate. I finally lowered my Biest on my own and my bloating and weight began to drop off. So excess estrogen makes it very difficult to lose weight. I hate having to be on HRT's as doctors can never get the dosage right and it causes major health issues if it's too much. I have learned from experience, that butter, and dairy raise my estrogen levels. So if you have fat on your body that just won't budge, avoid butter and dairy and see if that helps you get that weight loss going. I love butter, so I have lowered my Biest low enough to compensate for what butter is going to do to my levels when I eat it, and I wait four hours after taking my Levothyroxine before I eat any kind of dairy. Before I do my 30 minute fast walk in the morning, I wait 30 minutes after taking my Levo, then eat a tablespoon, of grass fed beef tallow, or two, then I walk. If I am fatigued, my heart rate is really low (in the 50's), if I feel cold and have brain fog, I take a drop of iodine. It helps a lot with sluggishness and gets me moving. TY Kelly, great information!

I've just never really been successful at tracking, though I did make a brief attempt at your online tracker, but had a hard time, may try again after watching this video. I've always done better if I don't think about food all the time, stay busy, and not being hungry is so helpful. I know that I don't eat nearly as much as some folks and some days, I guess I don't eat enough. I get full very quickly. I am definitely an intuitive carnivore, or really, sometimes ketovore, mostly carnivore. I lost weight before carnivore with great difficulty, but it never stuck. After I really got down to business with eating the way I do now about 5 years ago, I began losing fairly effortlessly, a chunk at a time, but I stalled twice, once for a year, once for two years. I just kept going, knowing this works better than any other diet I tried in my almost 68 years. I have been hypothyroid for 25 years. My BMI is 23 now, though it used to be 33 for years. Ketovore/Carnivore just the way I live now. My diet is almost exclusively grass fed beef (local farm) and free range eggs from my own chickens, butter/beef tallow, tuna occasionally, some bacon. I do consume heavy cream and stevia in my coffee, but only one tablespoon/3 teaspoons of cream-I measure it every time. Kelly or anyone else who wants to answer, after you lost a lot of weight, were you shocked to find out that you were really a smaller-framed person than you ever realized? That's not me because I have broad shoulders, but I did find that I am not a naturally large person, not "big-boned". It was enlightening! Blessings, Cynthia

Tracking, I'll tell you the issue with tracking is two fold.
#1 burnout from years and years and years of Weight Watchers or any nutritionist visits.
#2 it makes you hyper vigilant thinking about food all day, always on your mind.
I just want to not have to be that onsessed with it all.
Also, I desperately do NOT want to lose my hair yet again! I have fine thin hair and I am vain. And now old, I don't want it to take 3 years for my hair to come back in!!! You know damn well there will be hair loss.

I found I had to track my glucose, ketones, and weight. I measure my food food and record on Cronometer. I learned by tracking that have to keep my protein at 60-65 grams a day or else my glucose is too high. So I eat a lot of fat- 130-140 grams. I take enzymes, a probiotic for constipation, and enteric bile salts. (No gallbladder). In six months of doing this I lost the 25 lbs I had gained the past four years.

I was aprox 70/30, on point I was amazed to see how many calories I ate over 3000 😂 I lost my weight prior to Carnivore(80#s), but I yo-yo every year and creep back up 15#s or so, usually in the winter time. I mostly wanted to heal my body . I'm 63yo, 5'4 138#. My body comp is changing, and I'm down 8# since starting this WOE. This last month, I have been intuitively eating. I lift weights and stay active. Some days, I eat more protein, other days more fat. I used to think about food all the time, I'm no longer obsessed with that . I eat 2 meals a day, and I no longer track my macros, and I'm enjoying my journey.

For all the people commenting on how you just intuitively eat and lose weight, that was NOT what Kelly Hogan asked you to comment about, she asked if there was any other way besides intuitive, fat as a lever or tracking that helped you lose weight. So I will put in that I could only gain weight until I got hormones to sleep more a few hours a night, once I slept, I have lost down to my original weight, but not more, even with 50 now to lose. I've been intuitive carnivore for 6+months and lost 41#. I occasionally have to track my macros in MyFitnessPal to make sure I'm keeping honest and sometimes reel in my cheese to keep the down progress.

I can eat intuitively easily. The same for tracking. I do eat almost the same thing every day 🤣 Gaining a little muscle because of the workouts I do. Lots of energy and mostly my sleep is good.

    Helen.. I hear ya.
I am a recovering sugar and carb addict too.
But if you want to live your best and longest life, you’ve got to cut out the sugar and carbs and realize that food is NOT ENTERTAINMENT.
Somehow we’ve substituted sugary foods for emotional comfort and to ease our mental pain.
Food is supposed to be for NOURISHMENT… not to entertain or comfort us.
Once I learned this from Dr Ken Berry and Dr Anthony Chaffee… and started to eat lots of delicious and nutritious fatty (mostly red) meat, eggs, seafood and butter….
Now I can honestly say that I am living my best life and at age 62 I’ve lost 97 lbs, reversed T2 diabetes, high blood pressure, IBS, acid reflux, brain fog, migraines, chronic fatigue, arthritis, depression, anxiety and a lot more.
My energy levels, mental clarity and focus is off the charts and I look and feel like I’m back in my 20’s again!!
Best of luck with your health and wellness journey and as Mitch from “Old Guy Carnivore” always ends his videos…😊😊🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷
Take the rest of the day off and EAT MEAT.

I've been a carnivore for about a year now and of course I am familiar with your work, but, this is the first video of yours that I have watched. WOW, what have I been missing! I really can relate to your style. Direct, no nonsense real world information. What convinced me to pick up my phone, subscribe to your channel and write this comment was when you showed your preferred brand and style of sardines. Skinless Boneless in Olive oil. Well, me too. So often I see people who say, gotta have the skin and bones and get them in water because that's what would be Optimal. Well, for me it's gotta taste good too. I appreciate you making this video and sharing so much great information. I tried Carb Manager in the past, but after this video I will be revisiting it and feel like I can actually make it work for me this time. Sorry for the rambling.
